Our Mission

Brain tumours do not discriminate, and they do not respect boundaries. They can strike anyone, at any age. And they strike quickly. The Marketing team at The Brain Tumour Charity want to capture more high quality photos of our fundraisers and supporters. Not only do our photos capture the brain tumour community and their amazing efforts to help find cures but they also help create more awareness and engagement of our cause.

How can you help?

As a Volunteer Photographer, you will be present at big fundraising events or carrying out photoshoots with our supporters. This role requires that you are quick to capture those blink-and-you-miss-it moments! Other requirements include:

• Potentially walking a large amount of steps at some events if you are able (The Twilight Walk in London, for example)
• Being prepared for different weather conditions
• Taking portraits and group shots of fundraisers when asked by them
• Sending photos (unedited or edited) via wetransfer or another sharing platform soon after the event has ended

What impact will you have?

Your photos will capture the atmosphere and excitement of big events as well as the emotions that come with fundraisers. Capturing and displaying our community is a key concern for The Charity and your photos make an impact in reaching our goals. Your photos could also be featured on our website, social media and external news outlets with full credit given.

We’re looking for...

Individuals with technical experience in photography, whether that is buddying hobbyists or professionals looking to volunteer their time. You will also need:

• To have your own photography equipment
• An ability to direct people to get the right shot
• An ability to work autonomously

Time commitment

This is a flexible, ad-hoc role and there is no minimum amount of events you need to cover in this role. Photographer shifts at events usually last no longer than 6 hours. We have opportunities to volunteer all across the UK, but we would work with you to ensure that we only offer opportunities within a reasonable travelling distance and therefore the number of opportunities available will be dependent on your location.

Practical considerations

You will receive a full induction to The Brain Tumour Charity and any specific training for the role, as well as ongoing direction from one of the team, who will be your key contact. Volunteers will be required to complete some internal data protection and disclosure documentation before commencing the role. Volunteers must be over 18.  We encourage volunteers to claim for any reasonable expenses that are incurred in the course of their volunteering with the Charity.

We are looking for a Trustee with finance experience to help us improve our way of working as a Board.

About People First Forum

Our vision is a world where people with learning disabilities are treated as equals, living safe and happy lives.  Our Mission is to give people with learning disabilities the support and opportunities to live the lives they choose.

What will you be doing?

Our Board is exciting and special because it has a mixture of people with and without a learning disability. “Nothing about us without us”! Different people bring special gifts and skills.

You do not need to have worked in a Board or governance role, or with people with learning disabilities before – we will teach you everything you need to know and give you training.

Day to Day, our new Treasurer will advise and support the Board and the staff team in the following areas:

1. Budgets and Financial Reports 2. Financial Records and Practices 3. Financial Policies 4. Financial Health of the Charity 5. Working with Finance Staff and Accountants 6. Strategic Planning and Risk 7. External Auditors 8. Legal Financial Duties 9. Supporting the Board of Trustees

What are we looking for?

We are looking for people who are kind, respectful and dedicated to supporting our diverse board of Trustees.

You should be a finance professional. You should be good at explaining money matters clearly, especially to people who are not finance experts, including people with learning disabilities.

What difference will you make?

· You help shape our future - Trustees help set the charity’s direction and make sure it stays focused on its mission.

· You make sure funds are used wisely and that our charity stays financially healthy.

· You keep things safe and legal - Trustees make sure the charity follows the rules and manages risks properly.

· You will bring fresh ideas - Your experience and perspective will help the charity make better decisions.

· You make a real difference - Everything you do helps the charity support more people and create more impact.

Time commitment

In total, you are expected to give on average 1 to 2 hours each week to this role.

We are looking for new volunteers all around West Midlands to be Speak out. Stay Safe Volunteers. You would visit primary schools local to you to help us protect a generation of children from abuse and neglect.

We are not currently actively recruiting volunteers living in Birmingham City local authority areas. Please sign up for vacancy alerts on the NSPCC website to update you when these positions become available in future.

We’re looking for friendly, patient people to join our team as Volunteer Digital Buddies. You’ll support individuals in Lewisham, South East London who have little or no experience with computers, smartphones, or the internet.

As a Digital Buddy, you’ll help people with everyday digital tasks like:

• Setting up an email account
• Using WhatsApp or other messaging apps
• Filling in online forms
• Navigating their smartphone, tablet, or laptop

No tech expertise needed — just patience and a willingness to help!

�� Must be able to travel to Lewisham
�� A great way to meet new people and give back to your community
