Job description

The Opportunity

As the Senior Adviser you will play a key role in providing high level advice, information, stakeholder engagement, project management, research, analysis and business insight to the Director of Governance & Executive and the Head of Executive Engagement. In this role you will focus on enhancing governance support to the Chair of the International Board and Members’ Assembly and complementing the overall support structure for the Plan International governance bodies.

The role is varied, fast paced and exciting. Working with executive leaders globally you will directly contribute to a range of initiatives transforming our operations as we work towards becoming a more agile, efficient and accountable organisation and the best possible partner for the 8,000+ staff who work in our country offices.

The Individual

We are looking to recruit an engaging, positive team player who understands the governance space and is aware of internal and external dynamics. You will have some demonstrable experience in assessing business risks, issues, and opportunities with a high degree of coherence and clarity to solve complex problems and innovate.

With strong project management skills and experience of planning and prioritization of projects and work programmes.

To be successful in this role you will need to have strong written and interpersonal communication skills with an awareness of cultural sensitivity.  As well as excellent presentation and stakeholder management skills.

A passion for the Plan International purpose, with an understanding of our commitment to development and humanitarian values, standards and child protection.

Location: Global Hub Offices in Woking (COVID restrictions permitting) or where Plan International has a legal entity and you have the pre-existing right to live and work
Type of Role: 6 month Fixed Term Contract
Reports to: Director of Governance and Executive
Salary: We will be happy to disclose the salary and applicable benefits to applicants as part of this process, however, please kindly note that this will vary according to the location of the appointed candidate and therefore, it is not possible to include full details here. The salary for an appointed candidate based in the UK will be in the range of £40,000 - £45,000
