Job description

ECP - Sexual Violence Support Worker
Early Childhood Partnership is pleased to offer several opportunities to work within our new Sexual Violence Support Service in Bedfordshire. We are looking for either qualified ISVAs or IDVAs to join our team, or someone who is committed to achieving the ISVA qualification, which we will fund whilst working alongside our qualified ISVAs as a support worker. 
We have an exciting opportunity to join our Sexual Violence Support Team in Bedfordshire and train as an Independent Sexual Violence Advisor this year! We would also welcome applications from qualified ISVAs or IDVAs.
Fixed term up to 31 March 2022
The starting salary is dependent on experience and qualifications. Unqualified - £22,317; Qualified - £25,355.
The successful applicant will provide a high quality and victim/survivor focused advocacy service to children, young people and adults of any gender who have been subjected to sexual violence within and outside the criminal justice to:
Provide emotional and practical support, at every stage of the victim/survivor journey
Reduce risk to keep victims/survivors (and others) safe
Ensure clients are aware of their options in relation to the recording and reporting of sexual assault

Connect victims/survivors with health and other support services which appropriately recognise and meet their needs and concerns
Communicate with investigating police officers and witness services to enable victims to continue through the Criminal Justice System, keeping clients informed of case progress
Applicants must have a clear understanding of sexual violence, rape trauma syndrome, modern day slavery, trafficking, prostitution, the long-term mental health effects of sexual violence, self-harm, suicidal feelings and attempts – and to be able to translate this knowledge into the delivery of effective services.
