If so, we have the role for you and want to hear from you today. Join the VoiceAbility Northwest team as an Advocate (Independent Mental Health Advocate) based at Soss Moss Hospital.

What do you need?

Experience of Advocating for others. You may hold the Independent Mental Health Advocacy Practice qualification or equivalent. Alternatively, you may be qualified in any of the Independent Advocacy disciplines with a desire to become qualified in Independent Mental Health Advocate. If any of these apply to you, we want to hear from you.

Ability to work alone with remote support and supervision only a phone call or click away.

The role:

You will provide advocacy to people whose rights are restricted under the Mental Health Act. Some may have a learning Disability. You will be responsible for ensuring the individuals wishes, feelings, belief's, needs, and values are considered to create positive outcomes for the individual.

You will empower and enable people residing in a secure hospital to understand their rights. You will help individuals to understand their rights and options along with the decision-making process relating to their care, treatment, and support.

You will work resourcefully and collaboratively with the individuals. Be creative in your approach to empowerment by ensuring you meaningfully explain options and rights.  Supporting the individual to fully participate in decisions affecting them you will make sure they have their voice heard.

Location Hospital Based at Soss Moss Hospital Macclesfield

Hours 21 hours per week between Monday & Friday to be arranged, usually between 9am & 5.00pm

Your Rewards Package:

Salary Range: £21,000 to £28,000 per annum.  £12,5999 - £16,799 pro rata based on 21 hours per week.Advocates start on the appropriate spine point for their advocacy qualifications with the potential to earn up to £28,000 / £16,799  subject to qualifications and performance.
