GiveOut is an award-winning international community foundation, with the mission to grow giving to support the global struggle for LGBTQI human rights. We advocate for more funding to benefit LGBTQI causes globally, fundraise to foster more giving by the LGBTQI community and our allies, and pool donations to provide grants and other support to LGBTQI organisations worldwide, to build a world where LGBTQI people everywhere can live their lives freely and fully.
Across the world, courageous activists are doing vital work to protect and improve the lives of LGBTQI people. But they lack resources and funding is fragile, especially in the Global South and East. Our global community and allies want to provide support, but it is not always easy to do so. GiveOut’s purpose is to help address this urgent need by providing a platform for our supporters to give in one place to fund LGBTQI rights activism worldwide. We pool the donations we receive to provide flexible grants to LGBTQI organisations around the world, ensuring they have more of the resources they need to defend our communities, tackle inequality and campaign for lasting change.
An entry-level role, the Philanthropy Coordinator will be a key member of GiveOut's small team, with responsibilities in three main areas: helping with internal programme coordination, supporting colleagues on key donor relationships and fundraising, and taking the lead on community fundraising. They will be highly organised with a strong work ethic, enjoy organising events, and up for the challenge of raising lower level gifts from our community and allies. They will have the opportunity to develop organisational, project management and fundraising skills, learn about LGBTQI rights activism around the world, and see the impact of their work through the incredible LGBTQI organisations supported through GiveOut.
Main responsibilities:
Internal programme coordination

In this multi-faceted essential role, you will be the first point of contact for our supporters and provide high-quality customer service and support, from handling enquiries through to resolution, processing income donations, sending out donation thank you letters and supporter materials, all in a professional manner.
It is an exciting time to join King’s College Hospital Charity and the Fundraising and Communications Team to support our innovative and ambitious fundraising targets. We recently had our biggest ever team at the 2024 London Landmarks Half Marathon, with 96 runners representing Team King’s and over £85,000 raised for our hospitals. The Great Hospital Hike, our flagship fundraising event, also raised over £160,000 for our hospitals, with our supporters walking the 18-mile route from King’s College Hospital in Denmark Hill to the Princess Royal University Hospital in Bromley.
The Supporter Services Assistant is often the first point of contact at the charity for supporters - handling enquiries, processing income, sending out donation thank you letters and supporter materials and mass postal mailings, where required. You will combine excellent supporter care and customer service with administrative efficiency and attention to detail to ensure that the supporter experience is smooth and positive from start to finish. You'll be skilled at listening and responding to queries appropriately, both over the telephone, via email and letter.
You will use the Access Charity Customer Relationship Management (CRM) database to make sure all supporter information is recorded consistently, kept up to date and maintained in accordance with database management procedures. You will work closely with the Database Manager and Senior Fundraising Operations Officer to highlight opportunities for improvements to processes and procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
- To give supporters a positive, consistent experience in all their interactions with the Charity, especially in response to enquiries, income handling and donor thanking.
- To ensure that income is recorded accurately and promptly on the CRM database to enable the Finance team to reconcile and correctly allocate income, and the Fundraising team to have financial oversight of their fundraising activities.
- To ensure that supporter records on the CRM database are kept up to date, adding enquiry responses, donation correspondence and amending records where requested by either the supporter, members of the Fundraising & Communications team or wider charity colleagues.

Following its successful relaunch, the Air Cadet Charity is seeking a highly motivated Trust and Major Donor Fundraiser to help it achieve its aims of supporting and developing the young people of Great Britain and Northern Ireland. The Air Cadet Charity, until now, has had to rely on donations but Trustees have decided to expand our income generation streams in order to enable us to do more for each and every Royal Air Force Air cadet. Our activities and projects include supporting flying, adventurous training, drone piloting, participation in the Duke of Edinburgh scheme, national sports and national music competitions, BTEC qualifications, STEM development as well as many others. Although the Charity had been around in a different guise for many years this is an opportunity to join a vibrant young charity at the start of its new journey to do more for the young people of our Nation.
The role will focus chiefly on sourcing funding from charitable trusts who share our goal of developing our young people, equipping them with the skills to prosper not only in the present but also for the rest of their lives. Some cadets will join the Royal Air Force, but the majority go on to forge careers in all walks of life thanks to the opportunities provided by the Air Cadets and the Air Cadet Charity. Our policy is to spend all that we earn and to dip into our capital if required. Annual expenditure and income is around £900,000 each year and our aim is to increase this to around £1,500,000 by 2029. The successful applicant will have tried and tested charitable trust fundraising skills such that they contribute the majority of the additional funds required to make this ambition a reality although we recognise that this will not be an overnight goal! 7. Contribute to internal quarterly reports and annual reports to funders.
8. Represent Thames21 at community events, activities and partnership meetings.
