Amy’s Place is a partnership between the Amy Winehouse Foundation and Clarion Housing, providing supported living accommodation for young women aged 18-30 in recovery from drugs, alcohol and other addictive behaviors.

An enthusiastic, reliable and compassionate volunteer with good interpersonal skills and a desire to help others. The volunteer needs to hold a professional level diploma in counselling and have training and experience working with individuals with eating disorders.

Activities

• To provide therapeutic support to young women (aged 18-30) with eating disorders
• One-to-One counselling sessions will aim to support the individual to improve self-confidence, identify and resolve negative thought processes, implement constructive coping strategies and empower them to fulfil attainable life goals
• To develop and promote a positive relationship with the women within allocated caseload
• To keep up-to-date with development in the field of counselling and eating disorder therapy
• To manage appropriate professional boundaries in the relationship
• To maintain records for monitoring, evaluation and tracking purposes plus service evaluation
• To take responsibility for own professional development

Requirements

• Hold a professional level diploma in counselling
• Hold professional membership with BACP, UKCP or equivalent
• Have own regular supervision with a qualified supervisor
• Fully trained in eating disorder therapy and previous experience supporting individuals with eating disorders
• This role requires us to carry out a check through the Disclosure and Barring Service for the Enhanced DBS

Commitment 

This is a flexible opportunity and volunteering times and frequency will vary depending on the volunteer’s availability and the needs of the residents. Ideally weekly one-to-one sessions for a minimum of 3 months.

•  Volunteers receive a thorough induction and have access to any relevant in-house and external training
•  Reasonable travel and lunch expenses will be reimbursed
• The role is based at the service in East London. The exact address cannot be given until the volunteer starts due to safety and privacy reasons.

· help set up and/or man stalls at events

· help on collection days like supermarket collections events or street collections

Time expectation

This role is really flexible! You could choose to volunteer at one event for a couple of hours or attend multiple fundraising events.

We’ll keep you up to date with upcoming local events where volunteers are needed. You’ll then be able to choose which events you’d like to volunteer at and how many hours you’d like to give. However much time you can give, your contribution will help raise much needed funds to continue the work of Cats Protection.

Citadel Community Connectors London is a community-based, volunteer-led support service, designed to help end homelessness and make a real difference to the lives of those who need it most.

Our volunteers help individuals both emotionally and practically in making the move to safe and secure housing. This can include finding and settling into a new home, setting up utilities and bills, sourcing furniture and decorating. Volunteers also help individuals to connect and engage with relevant support providers and networks to help ensure new tenancies are a success.

Our support can be as simple as having a coffee, providing a listening ear, and letting an individual know that someone cares. Our volunteers also bring us ideas, and experiences to shape how we make a difference.

Volunteers receive a full induction, training, and ongoing supervision. This is a great opportunity to make a real difference in the community while connecting with like-minded, caring individuals.

We ask that you commit to volunteering for at least an hour a week, for up to six months, and participate in our induction, training, and ongoing support. We will arrange a DBS check, and you will be entitled to reasonable expenses and travel costs.

• Supporting the creativity and self-expression of the students
• Working collaboratively with other staff at Amy’s Place in order to provide the best support for each individual student

Refettorio Felix is a community kitchen with an open-door policy in the Earl's Court area. We provide a safe haven and a warm, welcoming atmosphere for those facing homelessness and financial crises.

Using surplus food ingredients, our kitchen freshly prepares a three-course lunch for up to 140 people per weekday. We are looking for friendly and dedicated volunteers to support us in our mission to provide fresh and nutritious meals to our guests.

Mary's is an open access, youth led organisation open to any young person aged 10-19. 

We are currently looking for enthusiastic, self-motivated, and energetic individuals to volunteer as youth club support workers, ideally over our busy summer programme.

As a Volunteer, you will assist Mary’s Youth Club team in providing exciting opportunities to young people at the Youth Club. 

This includes activities that take place on and off site

With excellent listening skills and the ability to empathise, you will build relationships of respect and trust and help maintain a welcoming, caring, safe and fun environment for Mary’s Youth Club members.

This role will include (but not be limited to):

• setting up and clearing the rooms
• assisting the team in providing the daily activities, this can include playing board games, arts and crafts, sports activitie, helping to prepare snacks, taking the register for the day and potentially going on day trips around London
• if you are volunteering on a Friday evening you may also be required to assist with the preparation of our warm evening meal

The time commitment:

• We are looking for people who are able to commit 3-5 hours per week - this will be to help cover the summer programme and therefore will be mostly day-time hours

• (Please note you are welcome to apply to volunteer during the term-time but the hours for this are different, they are monday-friday 4-7pm)

Experience

You do not need to have experience in volunteering, or to have worked with young people before, as you will be well looked after by the team.

We are looking for a passionate and articulate Fundraiser with extensive experience in fundraising strategy and bidding writing skills.

What this position entails

This role is designed for someone eager to share their fundraising knowledge by coaching our team to enhance their skills and gain a deeper understanding of the fundraising landscape.

We work with a dedicated team of volunteers, from our operational staff to those actively participating in our events, all of whom are enthusiastic about supporting our initiatives while gaining valuable experience and connecting with new people. Our Fundraising Trainer will provide valuable training to our fundraising and marketing team, focusing on enhancing their fundraising abilities, helping them to develop innovative strategies, and assisting with bid revisions by offering them constructive feedback and suggestions for improvement.

We seek a mentor rather than someone to handle fundraising tasks for the team; we want a guide who can empower others to learn from their expertise.

Therefore, the ideal candidate must possess excellent communication skills and the ability to train individuals in the art of fundraising with creativity and kindness.

The key focus of the role is:

•  Train and guide the fundraising and marketing team, acting as a mentor.
•  Revise bids and give insightful suggestions for improvement.

Essential:

• Highly experienced in Fundraising and with excellent communication skills.
• Able to produce training in Fundraising skills and deliver it to the team.
• Able to dedicate time to weekly catch-ups with the team and review actions, offering insightful tips for improvement.

brain tumour charity. Offering practical, financial and emotional support to both adult and child

brain tumour patients, together with their families.

We fund brain tumour research in Yorkshire; we hope this research, dedicated to identifying new

approaches to the discovery and treatment of brain tumours, will improve outcomes for patients.

At YBTC we are a small team who are growing to meet the needs of those affected by a brain

tumour in Yorkshire. Around 15 new cases of primary brain tumour are diagnosed in the region

every week.

Your role 

The purpose of your role is to assist Unfold’s volunteer applicants in a smooth and timely onboarding experience.  The role will provide you with an opportunity to gain or further develop administrative, organisational, data processing and communication skills in a welcoming and supportive environment, whilst gaining an understanding of the charity business and development.

What will you be doing? 

On a weekly basis you will be supported to carry out the following:

• Send next step emails following mentoring training.
• Request, track and confirm receipt of references.
• Create volunteer profiles on our online training platform.
• Send DBS application invites and see DBS applications through to completion 
• Communicate updates with the Volunteer Coordinator and share any challenges or concerns regarding the onboarding process.
• Work in line with GDPR guidelines.
• Any other duties as reasonably required.

Training  

• You will be trained by the Volunteer Coordinator and supported throughout your role in Unfold’s systems and processes.
• You are welcome to attend our mentoring training, giving you the opportunity to further understand the needs and lives of the communities your role will help us to serve.

About you 

This is a great opportunity to gain experience working with a charity and develop your existing skills and learn new ones. We need you to get involved and help make positive changes to the lives of families and young people in Westminster. 

You will be an individual who: 

• Has good organisational and communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Is confident with or willing to learn the use of Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook). 
• Is willing to develop skills in the use of our CRM system.
• Is committed to working as a team to achieve Unfold's aims. 

This role may particularly appeal to you if you are studying or interested in Psychology, Sociology or learning more about the charity sector. Previous Office Volunteers have undertaken studies on Unfold’s service user trends as part of their Master's degree dissertation, which we would welcome should you like to initiate a similar project, however, this is absolutely not a requirement for the role!

The Commitment

Minimum 6 hours weekly, Monday to Friday, including Tuesdays or Wednesdays at Unfold’s Office in Victoria.
