Emmaus Mossley is seeking to recruit new people with a mix of experience and expertise to our Board of Trustees. This is an exciting and important time for our charity’s ambitious strategy, as we work to help more people out of homelessness and poverty.
Emmaus Mossley is a well-established charity, achieving our core aims and delivering impact with embedded values and good governance structures already in place. Joining the Emmaus Mossley Board of Trustees is a rewarding and fulfilling opportunity, especially as we look forward to celebrating our 30th anniversary in 2027.
About Emmaus Mossley
Emmaus Mossley is a dynamic charity that provides a home, tailored support, training and work opportunities to people who have experienced homelessness. We go beyond just offering a bed for the night; Emmaus provides people with longer-term support, stability, opportunities for personal development, and a strong sense of community.
Emmaus Mossley is an independent local charity that is governed by a Board of Trustees who all live, work or are invested in the improvement of Tameside, Oldham and its surrounding communities. Whilst our work is focused locally, we are also part of a much wider Emmaus movement.
About the Charity Trustee – Company Secretary role
As part of Emmaus Mossley’s continued development, we are seeking to recruit a new trustee with Company Secretary responsibilities. We are looking for someone who can bring fresh perspectives, experiences and expertise, with an understanding of governance, trustee development and charity law.
Emmaus Mossley relies on a diverse group of people to become trustees and deliver good governance. Becoming a charity trustee at Emmaus Mossley is an opportunity to apply and develop your skillset for a worthwhile cause. This voluntary role offers variety, responsibility and satisfaction, especially seeing people overcome challenges to achieve their personal goals.
The Emmaus Mossley Board of Trustees meets six times a year. In addition to full trustee meetings, some trustees are members of our three committees that report to the board. Trustees also have the opportunity to get involved in other ways, including at events, external events and projects.
If you share our passion and principles for helping those most in need and have sufficient time and energy, please explore the trustee role and register your interest.
Emmaus Mossley supports people who have experienced homelessness by providing them with a home, tailored support and life-changing opportunities.

About nurtureuk
At nurtureuk, we believe that every child and young person deserves to feel safe, understood and supported to flourish at school, emotionally, socially, and academically. But for many, school can be a difficult place, especially for those who’ve experienced trauma, adversity or unmet emotional needs.
For over 50 years, we’ve been pioneers in nurturing approaches to support social emotional development, using a tried-and-tested framework that helps children and young people build the confidence, resilience, and sense of belonging they need to succeed in education and in life.
Our work transforms school environments so that they are truly inclusive, supportive and safe spaces. We train teachers and school leaders, and deliver evidence-based programmes that strengthen wellbeing across whole school communities, as well as improving attendance and reducing exclusions- because the children enjoy being in school!
At the core of our work is the Boxall Profile®, our unique, award winning and Department for Education recommended assessment tool. It helps teachers understand what lies behind a child’s behaviour; the hidden emotional needs, the gaps in development, the things a test score could never show. By shining a light on what each child needs to feel secure, the Boxall Profile empowers educators to respond with empathy, not punishment, and to nurture every child’s potential.
Behind every report and dataset is a story:
A child who finally feels safe and excited to walk into class.
A teacher who sees progress and growth where there used to be only frustration.
A family who begins to believe that things can get better.
By joining us as a Volunteer Grant Support Officer, you’ll be helping make these stories possible, securing the funds that enable us to reach more schools, support more teachers, and change more children’s lives.

borGO
borGO is a platform that promotes the authentic villages of Abruzzo, Italy, through sustainable experiences, local culture, and community engagement.
borGO tackles the social and environmental problems facing small villages in Abruzzo, such as depopulation, loss of local culture, and lack of job opportunities. Many young people leave these areas, and traditional knowledge and ways of living risk disappearing. At the same time, mass tourism often damages the environment and doesn’t benefit local communities. borGO offers a different approach by promoting slow and sustainable tourism, supporting local businesses, and helping people discover the unique culture, nature, and stories of these villages.
borGO is a digital platform that connects travelers, volunteers, and locals to create authentic, sustainable experiences in the villages of Abruzzo. It offers curated activities—like local workshops, cultural events, and eco-tourism—that support small businesses, preserve traditions, and involve the community directly. By combining storytelling, design, and technology, borGO makes it easy to discover hidden places while generating real social and environmental impact for the people who live there.
Social Media & Communications Coordinator
What You’ll Do
We’re looking for a creative and hands-on Social Media & Communications Volunteer to help us tell the story of borGO and connect with people who care about culture, sustainability, and slow travel. You’ll help manage and grow our presence on Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, and LinkedIn, creating engaging content, testing ideas, and building a community around the beauty of Italy’s hidden villages. You’ll also support our communication strategy—planning posts, writing short texts, and shaping the tone of our voice across platforms.
About borGO
borGO is a young social startup with a mission: to bring new life to the small villages of Abruzzo by connecting people, culture, and sustainable tourism. We want to shine a light on places that are often forgotten, and help communities thrive through meaningful experiences and storytelling. We’re just getting started, and you’ll be part of something that’s growing every day—with your ideas, energy, and creativity.
What We’re Looking For
- Experience using Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, and LinkedIn to create and share content
- Familiarity with tools like CapCut, Canva, or similar platforms for creating reels, videos, and visual posts
- Comfortable writing captions, planning content, and thinking creatively
- Able to communicate in English and Italian (both are important for our audience)
- Independent, reliable, and enthusiastic about trying new things
Nice to have
- Experience or passion for tourism, rural areas, or cultural projects
- A good sense of visual style or an interest in learning more about branding
- Open to co-creating with a small, friendly team that values your voice
- A chance to leave your mark by shaping how the world sees borGO
