About Victory Afghanistan
Victory Afghanistan is a Chicago-registered nonprofit dedicated to providing education and mentorship to Afghan girls and young women who have been banned from attending school. We currently run six levels of English classes and a Mentorship Programme that includes three career pathways:
1. Online Higher Education – Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees through remote universities.

What We’re Looking For
• Strong initiative and leadership – someone who can drive things forward independently.
• Confident communicator with good public relations skills.
• Experience in higher education, partnerships, or international development is ideal.
• Based in the United Kingdom or United States (for time-zone alignment).
• Able to commit around 6 hours per week and attend weekly team meetings.
• Ideally available until September 2026 (the end of the next academic year).
You’ll report directly to the Operations Manager and work with a small, passionate, and global team making a real impact in girls’ lives.

About Victory Afghanistan
Victory Afghanistan is a Chicago-registered nonprofit dedicated to providing education and mentorship to Afghan girls and young women who have been banned from attending school. We currently support over 800 students through six levels of English instruction and three mentoring pathways:
-
Online Higher Education – Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees through remote universities.
-
Offline Higher Education – Scholarships and sponsorships abroad.
-
Online Work & Internships – Virtual career and internship opportunities.
Our mission is to help these students rebuild their futures through learning, connection, and courage.
About the Role
We are now recruiting a Volunteer Higher Education Pathway Manager to lead and expand our Online Higher Education stream. This is a volunteer leadership position that requires drive, moxie, ambition, and daring, a chance to test your skills and your character while doing something that truly matters.
You’ll step into an existing structure with full guidance from the previous manager, so you won’t be starting from zero. Your goal will be to identify and secure online higher education opportunities for Afghan women who cannot leave the country, whether through university partnerships, scholarships, sponsorships, or donated course placements.
You’ll also guide 3 Project Coordinators (who are students in our academy) and work closely with the Operations Manager to help deliver tangible outcomes.
This is a role for someone who gets things done. It’s fine if you make mistakes, what matters is consistency, initiative, and a willingness to keep pushing forward. We’re looking for someone who thrives under responsibility and believes in turning ideas into action.
Key Responsibilities
-
Build partnerships with universities, organisations, and institutions offering online higher education opportunities.
-
Identify and coordinate scholarship, sponsorship, or course placement options for students.
-
Lead and mentor three Project Coordinators who support the Pathway Programme.
-
Work collaboratively with the Operations Manager and other 2 Pathway Managers to achieve shared targets for 2026.
Why This Role Matters
This role is part of our mission to secure opportunities for Afghan women by September 2026. We are working towards:
-
Enrolling several students in Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees online,
-
Securing scholarships and sponsorships for higher education placements abroad, and
-
Helping more students access paid remote work and internships.
So far, one of our students has earned a scholarship to study abroad, and we aim to make this just the beginning.
This is a genuine leadership challenge. You’ll be part of a global, fast-moving team where energy and initiative matter more than titles. If you’ve got the drive, this is your chance to prove what you can do.
You must have a background in higher education, international development, or partnerships. Applicants should be based in the United Kingdom or United States for time-zone alignment and be available through September 2026. We will only be contacting applicants whose profiles show genuine potential for this leadership role.

dmtr
dmtr tackles global hunger and the interconnected challenges of climate change, poverty, and low productivity for smallholder farmers. Over 670 million people face chronic undernourishment, often due to poor access to finance, climate shocks, and inefficient food systems leading to significant waste.
The startup champions local innovation, believing communities hold the best solutions but lack the support to scale. dmtr focuses on building an equitable, climate-resilient agri-food system by empowering early-stage innovators and social startups through a three-pillar approach: Educate (creating content on food system challenges), Inspire (connecting entrepreneurs with mentors and investors through workshops), and Enable (securing funding and visibility from impact investors).

-

In certain periods of the year, demand is extremely high, and the shared houses might be full. If you have the means to pay for your own accommodation, please let us know. We would still be happy to host you if space is available. However, in a situation where the shared houses are full, this would allow us to offer an opportunity to someone that cannot afford to pay rent.
Have experience leading a team of this type?
Consider applying to become a Grants Coordinator. Whether your experience lies in the humanitarian sector or elsewhere, we are looking for people with expertise that can drive us forward as an organisation.
Looking for an internship?
If, because of your degree or for any other reason, you would like to have your period at Second Tree credited as an internship, just apply to the vacancy that you’re interested in and mention this. We have agreements with several universities across Europe, and in many other cases, these agreements can be developed on an ad hoc basis.
We encourage applicants to join us in person, but if this is not possible we will consider remote applications for this role.
NOTE: If you require a visa to stay in Greece for the minimum ten-week commitment, please know that as a Greek NGO, we are unable to sponsor your visa.

One year on from launching out of incubation, we have had the privilege of working with charities, trusts, and foundations who are bravely exploring what it means to lead with integrity in today’s complex world. Now, as we look ahead, we are ready to grow our board and strengthen our capacity to steward this next phase of our journey.
The Opportunity

- Governance and trusteeship experience, with understanding of CIC responsibilities and board effectiveness
- Executive-level experience in or with the philanthropic sector, particularly with sector-level organisations (e.g., associations of charitable foundations, funders' networks)
- Social impact and commercial acumen, bridging purpose-driven work with sustainable business models through consulting
- Community-building expertise within the social impact sector, with track record of meaningful stakeholder engagement
What We Offer
- The opportunity to shape strategy for an organisation committed to systemic change
- A board culture grounded in humility, curiosity, courage, and belonging
- Flexibility: board members may also engage in advisory or associate work with Power & Integrity (though this is not required)

Time Commitment
- 4 board meetings per year (2 hours each)
- 4 learning meetings per year (1.5 hours each)
- Occasional ad hoc guidance through delegated committees
Please Note
This is a voluntary, unpaid board position. However, reasonable expenses will be reimbursed, and opportunities for paid advisory or associate work may arise separately.
Power & Integrity is dedicated to creating an environment of belonging where everyone feels respected and valued. We actively encourage applications from people underrepresented on boards and in the social impact sector.
