Job description

About us

Myeloma UK is the only organisation in the UK dealing exclusively with myeloma – the second most common form of blood cancer. It originates in the bone marrow and currently affects around 17,500 people in the UK. Whilst treatable, myeloma is not yet curable.

Our ultimate goal is to find a cure. We are dedicated to ensuring that patients get access to the right treatment at the right time, and to improving standards of treatment and care through research, education and awareness raising. We also provide a range of information and support services to patients, family and friends to help deal with a diagnosis of myeloma.

About the role

This is an exciting opportunity to manage Myeloma UK’s health services research portfolio as the Health Services Research Manager.  You will oversee successful delivery of several projects working with external partners to ensure timely completion of milestones and reporting requirements.

The role holder will also undertake specific internal health services-related research projects and design and undertake surveys, focus groups and other research projects to measure the impact of Myeloma UK programmes and services.

Myeloma UK’s office in in Edinburgh.  Remote working from other parts of the UK could be considered if the post holder is also able to maintain a frequent and meaningful presence at the Edinburgh office.  Travel across the UK will be required.

About you

You will need excellent project management, communication and influencing skills with the ability to communicate at all levels.  You will have previous experience in a project management role with evidence of successful delivery.  Experience of working with patient data for health research or health care would be an advantage in this role.

If you are excited by the opportunity to work with us and have the skills and experience necessary for this key role, we want to hear from you.

Interviews will be held on Tuesday 11 February.
