Summary of the role:

The HR Officer will be responsible for providing support to the Senior HR Business Partner and the wider People and Culture team in the delivery of HR services. The role will focus on a range of HR activities including recruitment, employee relations, performance management, aspects of payroll, L&D, travel logistics and other generalist HR duties. A key part of the role will be to provide support in identifying, attracting, and hiring top talent to meet all Muslim Aid’s staffing needs.

1. Ensure a smooth, efficient and welcoming onboarding and probation process for new employees.  
2. Facilitate the recruitment process by assisting hiring managers in meeting departmental needs. Responsibilities include crafting job descriptions, posting ads, screening candidates, and conducting interviews.

About the post of CEO

JOB DESCRIPTION

Strategy and Operations

1. Develop, implement, and lead execution of the charity's annual operational plan and 3-year strategic plan.

2. Identify appropriate level of staffing, volunteering, ensuring that all staff and volunteers are appropriately interviewed, vetted, inducted, trained, developed, and supported to deliver against their objectives.

3. Ensure appropriate upkeep, security, and management of the charity’s premises, including all relevant contracts and payments.

4. Ensure that the charity’s IT systems are fit for purpose and compliant with relevant law.

People

5. Line management of seven staff members, and responsibility for staff and team development, cohesion and appraisals.

6. Recruit and support social club facilitators and appropriate consultants to provide additional resource to the charity as required.

7. Lead staff member for safeguarding, liaising directly with Hammersmith and Fulham Adult Social Care.

8. Ensure appropriate mechanisms and safeguards are in place to support up to 100 regular volunteers, and up to 100 additional corporate/student volunteers.

Finance and Fundraising

10. Develop, implement, and lead charity’s financial and fundraising planning and management, ensuring that the charity operates at least at break-even, ideally with a small surplus.

11. Ensure that the charity has a diverse range of income across various streams, inclusive of (but not limited to) public sector, trusts and foundations, corporate income, events, and online giving.

12. Ensure that the charity is receiving value for money with all expenditure, ensuring contract review on a timely basis as appropriate.

13. Ensure appropriate cashflow projections so that expenditure does not exceed income in any one year unless pre-agreed with trustees.

Communications and Impact

As a Youth Tech Abuse Lead you will provide specialist support to Refuge’s children support workers and frontline staff to ensure children, young people, and protective parents are using technology safely and positively in our refuges. You will increase understanding and awareness of your colleagues on tech-facilitated abuse and how to identify and respond to risks.  Approximately 40% of the role focuses on working directly with children and young people and their parents in empowerment workshops, and 60% of the role will focus on capacity building and training frontline staff.

You will work closely Senior Programme Manager – Children and Young People, deputising for them in ensuring the voices of children and young are central to the development of services and Refuge’s systemic change initiatives.

The role does require a particular focus on supporting survivors of tech-facilitated abuse under the age of 18, this would require developing and delivering tech-facilitated abuse and online safety workshops to children, young people, and protective parents in refuges across London.

INTRODUCTION TO THE ROLE

Girls Not Brides is seeking an experienced digital communications professional to manage the Girls Not Brides website in English, French and Spanish, including website development, maintenance, continuous improvement planning, infrastructure, architecture, and user journey. You will be responsible for implementing a website improvement project and a new members area. This role will also be responsible for developing and producing performance data, evaluation, and reporting across our digital channels. We are looking for someone who has a passion for managing websites, using data to improve performance and engagement, and using digital platforms to drive movements. The successful applicant will support across our digital channels. This role sits in the Communications Team and reports to the Communications Manager. You will work closely with external website developers to deliver a website that showcases Girls Not Brides and our role as the global movement to end child marriage.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Girls Not Brides website (70%)

• Lead the development and implementation of the website improvement strategy and project plan, with support from the Communications Manager.
• Recommend and manage changes to the website architecture, front-end design, features, integrations, and user-journey improvements.
• Manage the day-to-day of activity of Girls Not Brides website, including uploading content in 3 languages (English, French and Spanish), optimising content for web, updating static pages when needed, and recommending updates and upgrades to the CMS.
• Responsible for managing website projects, including the upgrade, update and support and maintenance pipeline, as well as larger-scale changes to website functionality and architecture, managing external contractors to produce the work required on time and within budget.
• Research and implementing best-practices for search engine optimisation (SEO) across website copy and architecture.
• Produce and manage a clear, well-documented approach to web analytics, producing regular reports, monitoring user behaviour and website traffic, carrying out benchmarking, identifying KPIs and providing actionable insights.

Flagship projects include grant funding the National Centre for Accessible Transport (ncat), setting up a new model of car club in rural areas, and an influencing initiative targeting Government and industry to ensure the transition to electric vehicles (EVs) is inclusive. The Team has also commissioned a wide range of robust research, including on our flagship intervention, the Motability Scheme, and grant funded partners in the disability sector to do the same.

This is a brand new role based in our Innovation Team, working closely with Communications colleagues, to use our existing evidence base and that of our partners to develop robust policy positions. As a politically neutral organisation that does not currently have a policy function, we want our start to policy work to be rooted in structured research, drawing out themes across transport modes and disability types to tell a clear story about what changes would make the biggest difference to disabled people. We want to do so in a transparent way that prioritises sharing what we know and convening key stakeholders to bring them on a journey with us.

You will work with internal staff to proactively identify opportunities to influence emerging from our portfolio of innovation projects. You will lead on Motability Foundation’s responses to high-profile Government consultations, coordinating closely between the Innovation and Communications Teams. Where there is alignment and reputational benefit, you may engage external partners to amplify each other’s positions and share expertise. You will develop and implement a specific research programme geared towards supporting us to develop robust policy positions.

You will lean on the subject matter expertise of the Innovation and Communications Teams, but also develop your own knowledge where necessary.

About you:

Must haves:

• Experience commissioning robust qualitative and quantitative research.
• Experience using internal and external research findings and evidence to develop robust policy positions and respond to high-profile Government consultations.
• Understanding of decision-making processes in central and local government, at civil service and political levels.
• Ability to facilitate sensitive internal conversations to reach a point of consensus on policy positions.
• Ability to engage effectively with stakeholders in Government, industry, and other charities and foundations.
• Exceptional written and oral influencing skills, including the judicious use of data and evidence and the compelling presentation of the case for change.
• Highly IT literate with extensive experience of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.

Nice to haves:

• Understanding of key disability and transport issues, such as the social model of disability, inclusive micro mobility, the transition to electric vehicles, or user-centered design.

Motability Foundation

At Motability Foundation we fund, support, research and innovate so that all disabled people can make the journeys they choose. We oversee the Motability Foundation Scheme and provide grants to help people use it, providing access to transport to hundreds of thousands of people a year.

We award grants to other charities and organisations who provide different types of transport, or work towards making transport accessible. As Process Improvement Specialist, you will:

• work closely with colleagues across the organisation to identify and implement process efficiency and automation opportunities, from start to finish,
• develop and maintain process documentation, such as procedures, process maps and guides,
• regularly analyse data to understand the effectiveness of processes across the organisation, paying close attention to detail at all times,
• complete process mapping and reviews in order to maximise efficiency, coming up with solutions to complex problems swiftly.

About you:
To be successful in this role you should be truly process driven, with experience of implementing new processes and streamlining existing ones, with a knack for understanding a problem, analysing, and then fixing it. You’ll need to be a people person, as you’ll be business partnering colleagues and ‘meeting them where they are’, as they map out their processes and identify areas for improvement. You’ll need to be very detail orientated, and it would be beneficial if you have some Six Sigma certification to support your experience in process improvement. About this team:
Under the leadership of the Chief Operating Officer, the Finance, IT, Governance and Risk, Efficiency and Sustainability, Facilities and Legal teams provide professional business advice and central support to Dogs Trust. These traditionally ‘back-office’ teams work closely with the rest of Dogs Trust to enable them to work more efficiently and effectively to deliver our mission. Current turnover is in excess of £110m and is still growing and staffing levels are approaching 1,500 FTE. The Efficiency and Sustainability function is being introduced as a new department in a response to the growing need to work in a more cost effective, sustainable and strategically commercial way.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Trusts Fundraising Manager to join our dynamic fundraising team.

You will be responsible for overseeing and supporting with applications to our warm portfolio of charitable trusts as well as writing compelling bids to attract new funders. Working closely with the Trusts Fundraiser you will manage the reporting schedule and ensure excellent stewardship of funders through face to face meetings and annual receptions.
