The Senior People Business Partner will further develop the business partnering model to support the delivery of the NT’s strategy and business plan and ensure its effective implementation and measurement. Managing the team of People Business partners and working closely with People Operations, Resourcing, and Development areas of the People team to anticipate workforce needs and future challenges and as part of the team drive cultural and operational transformation. Can you help us keep changing lives and breaking the cycle of reoffending for good? With demand for our work continuing to grow, we are excited to be welcoming a Fundraising Manager to join our team.

In this role you’ll work closely with our CEO and operations team to deliver our annual fundraising targets, focusing on trusts and foundations, major donor and corporate giving and the occasional fundraising event/external opportunity.

We are a small staff team with a large cohort of volunteers and we are all passionate and committed to our mission to stop reoffending and ensuring the best outcomes for the men we support.  We don’t have an office and staff are either home based or work in one of the prisons, depending on their role.  We stay connected through regular team meetings (online and in person), 1-1 line management support and ongoing training. This post would be home based but you will need to be able to travel to attend occasional meetings in London, West Midlands and Oxfordshire.

The Digital Hub is a critical new initiative to strengthen collaboration, knowledge-sharing and access to resources involving many organisations. It aims to be a thriving community of key actors in the child poverty space in London. 

In its first launch phase at the start of 2026, the Hub will primarily target and engage London charities, including The Childhood Trust’s charity partner network.

This one-year role builds on the creation of the Digital Hub in 2025. This role is managing the implementation, testing and optimisation of the Hub in January and February 2026, before launching to an external test user group in March for a period of a month.

This role is critical to establishing the Hub’s purpose and value, and focusing on driving signs ups, engagement and re-engagement.

The role will be to oversee the resolution of any technical or user issues, especially in the first few months of the launch, supporting senior management in measuring and reporting the success of the Hub against set KPIs for the first year, ensuring content remains relevant to the needs of users, and beginning to embed the Hub as a core component of our wider Thrive Together programme of support, partnerships and collaboration.

The Project Manager will report to the Head of Communications and Marketing and work closely with several internal team members, as well as external stakeholders and be the primary contact for the digital agency responsible for developing the Hub.

Our youth clubs and casework are transformative for young refugees, allowing young people who have fled danger, experienced traumatic journeys, and are often here alone to find community and connection, a space to be a young person, and access support to address a range of practical challenges they face. We also draw on our evidence from working every day with young refugees and asylum seekers to call for change to the laws and policies which are harming young people.  

About the role  

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced practitioner with both youth work and casework experience to make a meaningful difference to the lives of young people in the UK asylum system. You will support young people aged 18-25, including those age-assessed as 18+, living in contingency and dispersal accommodation, helping them access social, emotional and practical support as they navigate the asylum system. 

Working closely with Youth Welfare Caseworkers who hold more complex, long-term cases, you will provide early intervention and short-term casework support alongside consistent, relational youth work. You will also contribute to the ongoing monitoring, evaluation and reporting of the service, as required, helping to evidence impact and inform service development. 

This role is primarily based in Brent, where you will coordinate the delivery of the Ahlan youth club with another Youth Welfare Officer and contribute to regular outreach to young people living in local hotels. You will help plan and deliver group sessions, trips and activities, creating safe, engaging and empowering spaces for young people. You will act as a trusted point of contact, building strong relationships, offering one-to-one support, and accompanying, referring and signposting young people to appropriate services, while working closely with colleagues to ensure safeguarding and wellbeing are prioritised. 

You may also be required to support the delivery of our other Youth Welfare youth clubs in Croydon and King’s Cross, and some evening work may be required as part of the role. All work is delivered in line with Young Roots’ values, using a trauma-informed, asset-based and youth-led approach.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with the Head and Director of People to implement the People Strategy and lead HR projects. ?
• Provide expert advice and support to leaders and employees on HR policies, employee relations, and performance management. ?
• Manage recruitment, onboarding, and induction processes to ensure a seamless employee experience. ?
• Oversee learning and development activities, including training programs and leadership development. ?
• Administer payroll and employee benefits, ensuring accuracy and compliance. ?
• Lead policy development and review to ensure progressive and inclusive practices. ?
• Manage employee relations issues, including discipline, grievances, and performance, with confidentiality and professionalism. ?
• Supervise and coach team members, including a People Advisor and People Officers. ?

You will bring:

• CIPD qualification ideally at Level 7 and extensive generalist HR experience. ?
• Strong knowledge of employment law, GDPR, and HR systems. ?
• Proven track record in policy development, employee relations, and people management. ?
• Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organisational skills. ?
• A positive attitude, commitment to quality, and a passion for delivering exceptional customer service. ?

You will help to develop and manage a high-quality pipeline of new trust and foundation opportunities and inspire them with the potential of the organisation's impactful projects. Alongside exciting development work, this role will be responsible for stewarding and engaging their growing portfolio of warm supporters to provide inspirational impact reporting. This role will provide the successful candidate with excellent career development opportunities in the sector and invaluable experience such as supporting a multi-million-pound Arts Council England grant. This officer will also work alongside a strong Fundraising team and share the space with the Books and Design teams.

The successful candidate will have a knowledge of and experience in fundraising, perhaps in a broader fundraising role that has touched on trusts and foundations. You will have a strong desire to develop your skills in grant giving, as well as a desire to make a difference to disadvantaged children and families.

This is a hybrid role, based from their offices in Battersea, London. It has a salary of £30k - £35k.
