About the role 

This is an exciting opportunity to join Sustrans as part of the Policy and Communications directorate working on the biggest every survey of walking, wheeling and cycling in the UK and Ireland 

As the designer you will work as part of the team to support the production of 22 localised but visually consistent reports, you will be responsible for editing infographics, text and images. 

Key responsibilities include: 

• Deliver creative digital and print design projects from template to final output with support from the Senior Designer. This is likely to include multiple Walking and Cycling Index reports and social media assets.
• Independently (with training provided for specific tasks) use Adobe Creative Cloud applications, InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop and Lightroom to create and edit materials 
• Work with a large amount of complex data to produce accurate, clear and engaging infographics.
• Support and comply with the Charity’s guidance on branding, tone of voice and key messages, positively contributing towards raising Sustrans’ profile.
• Create accessible print and digital materials and provide insight to ensure marketing materials are accessible.

We offer true hybrid working, a flexible mix of working from home and occasional travel to a nearby office hub. 

About you 

You should have experience of producing digital print and materials using adobe Creation Cloud, as well as designing materials ensuring accuracy and high attention to detail. 

Other skills and Knowledge required 

• Adobe Creative Cloud – InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator skills for print and digital channels 
• Knowledge of design principles like visual hierarchy, contrast, accessibility and how to implement them in digital and print materials 
• Knowledge of design accessibility standards and approaches across all channels 
• Knowledge of how to present data in a clear, engaging way 
• Knowledge of version control and file naming conventions and storage

Your role

To lead on trust fundraising at SeeAbility and to grow and diversify trust and foundation income in line with SeeAbility’s aspirations.

Your responsibilities

• Lead on the development and delivery of a trusts strategy, overseeing the whole trusts portfolio, to generate agreed annual targets for SeeAbility.
• Be the charity’s expert in trust fundraising, adopting a data-driven approach, keeping abreast of sector developments and making the business case for change where appropriate.
• Develop and enhance relationships with existing trusts, delivering first-class stewardship, making appropriate and timely applications to secure agreed annual budget and ensuring that all reporting is completed in line with guidelines.
• Focus on new business and lead on creative, inspiring and professional proposals to trust and statutory funders that operate within the charity’s values and ethical policy.
• Manage, support and mentor the Trusts Fundraiser to secure funds from trusts and statutory sources of income. To lead any further expansion of the trust team in the future if the opportunity arises.
• Implement the systems, tools and procedures to proactively identify new funders that align with SeeAbility’s strategy and ethical policy.
• Work across the organisation to generate new and innovative ways to package up SeeAbility’s work to secure funding.
• To be responsible for setting, monitoring and reporting on income and expenditure budgets and key performance indicators
• To be responsible for developing and delivering the annual work plan for trusts fundraising

We are seeking additional experienced Associate Independent Investigating Officers (IO) for Complaints, to increase our capacity to respond to referrals from Local Authorities to provide an independent element to the formal Stage 2 investigations under the Children Act 1989.

The IO will lead investigations, and will give the complainant (who may be a child, young person or adult) the opportunity to express their view, ensure the child or young person’s rights and best interests are at the centre of the investigation and that the investigation/review process is open and transparent. They write a report on the investigation/review, which is submitted to the referring agency.

The Job Description document sets out the expectations for an Associate Independent Person for Complaints (IPC) who is approved by Coram Voice. IPCs are independent, freelance and responsible for their own work. Nevertheless, IPCs are accountable to the organisation for their professional standards and are expected to comply with Coram Voice Code of Ethics and Practice Guidelines.

Lepra is dedicated to addressing leprosy and lymphatic filariasis (LF) and their consequences through direct support, advocacy, and the promotion of inclusive communities. We work in Bangladesh and in India, through our sister organisation, LEPRA Society. We work in partnership with people affected by leprosy and LF to improve detection, ensure access to treatment and care, and promote inclusion and wellbeing. Last year we finalised our new Global Strategy for 2024-30, which will guide us in our efforts to accelerate progress towards global targets for leprosy and LF, and towards our vision of a world free from leprosy and LF.

Job Context

Lepra UK is seeking to expand impactful social research, and the research internship was created to assist with moving forward some key research pieces during the summer 2025. As Research Intern, you will work alongside the Head of Research and a team of research volunteers to complete a systematic evidence review on the experience of children affected by leprosy of stigma, discrimination and mental health responses. You will support the review with screening of articles, data extraction, verification, coding, synthesis and quality assessment. You will join the team two months into the project, taking on various roles to assist with the completion of this project. You will also help with conducting a literature review on the socio-cultural reasons for (non)adherence in multi-drug therapy treatment (MDT). Other tasks will be assigned as they emerge. Your work will provide valuable insight into under-researched fields and will contribute to evidence-based publications, recommendations and programming.

Essential

• Current or recent post-graduate in a relevant MSc/PhD programme (or otherwise affiliated to an academic institution)

• Capture both barriers and enablers including the following categories: social, cultural, emotional, clinical/reactions, systemic/health system, disease knowledge.

Our Commercial Team 

We have a small commercial team with big ambitions for the sector.

Currently, we hold a single commercial contract worth around £3m per year delivered through 12 libraries. Our aim is to reach a point where we have a menu of commercial contracts that all of our 176 member library services can choose to benefit from according to the skills and assets of their service, their focus and strategy and of course the needs of their communities.

In the current funding climate for local authorities and local government services, these contracts are not just about the income and the services they can provide but about demonstrating nationally the power of the library sector, and how national services can be delivered locally through library services and the communities they serve.

Our approach is to identify and secure contracts procured by national government – either directly or with partners to extend the libraries’ capabilities – with an eye to local delivery through the library services. This allows us to centrally hold and manage the risk of the national contract, leaving the library services to deliver themselves.

We see libraries as a solution to many of society’s challenges and this is one route we use to bring the libraries into that solution.  

This area is part of our long term strategy – we are seeking to build the commercial team with this role and while it is initially a 12-month contract, our hope is that with the role in place we can generate the income to sustain and build on it.

NAPAC is seeking Call and Email Handlers for our support services in Stockport

NAPAC provides the only free national support service for adult survivors of all types of childhood abuse. We offer specialist, confidential support to all adult survivors of any type of abuse, operated by experienced staff and trained volunteers.

NAPAC works closely with the criminal justice and public health sectors. We support survivors to navigate and understand their options with criminal and civil law, and in healing and recovery. Choice is key, and our website provides a lot of free information for survivors and those supporting them. 

As a trusted public-health organisation, people use NAPAC’s services to support their overall health and wellbeing, to build and improve their resilience, and to be able to make brave, positive choices every day – including asking for help when they need it.

Those using our services ask for support with a range of concerns, including anxiety, depression, isolation, navigating relationships, dissociative identity disorder, reporting to the police, domestic and sexual violence, boundaries, and complex post-traumatic stress. For many, contacting NAPAC is a first step to recovering from trauma and leading happier, more fulfilled lives.

NAPAC support service often hear from adult survivors that are disclosing their childhood abuse for the very first time, so sensitivity, safety and confidentiality are highly important.

As a support line Call Handler, you will be a key member of our dedicated team, providing emotional support and a safe environment for callers with a wide range of complex issues.

NAPAC offers full training and hands-on support for call handlers with every call they receive. You will use the knowledge and skills you’ve developed through our training to explore issues relating to childhood abuse and it how it effects adulthood and signpost callers to relevant resources and services that can provide more in-depth support. Calls are caller-led, and you will be there to empower each caller to take back control in their lives.

We are looking for someone who is empathetic and resilient with a real passion for supporting people through their healing journey. We want our team to reflect the diversity of the people we support, and actively encourage applicants with different lived experience.

About the role

The Support Coach role involves:

• Supporting volunteer facilitators by coaching them through the opportunities, challenges and obstacles of running a Kids Matter programme
• Training and upskilling facilitators by helping run events and develop new resources
• Working with the wider Kids Matter team to encourage and strengthen Kids Matter’s church partnerships

At Kids Matter, we are committed to delivering effective coaching. All Support Coaches are given the opportunity to go through the coaching accreditation process with ICF to become an Associate Certified Coach (ACC). Kids Matter provides the support and supervision for this to take place, and will cover the cost of the accreditation if the individual remains employed as a Support Coach for the two years following applying for accreditation. If the individual leaves before two years, a percentage of the accreditation cost will be required to pay back.

JOB PURPOSE

To improve the provision of consistent high-quality debt advice, enhancing the experience of clients, by working collaboratively with delivery suppliers, to support them in implementing improvement activities, and in assessing and monitoring the quality of debt advice.

To support the implementation and ongoing facilitation of project quality assurance and improvement processes, working collaboratively with the EMMA management team to inform and support contract compliance and performance management activities.

To identify good practice and share learning with delivery suppliers, and across roles within MaPS and across all funded services to support improvement and development of advice services.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Deliver individual strategic projects/business plan objectives for the team

Work with debt advice providers on an individual basis to improve the provision of consistent and high-quality debt advice, by supporting suppliers to implement improvement activities, and to assess and monitor the performance of their advisers and debt advice service overall to ensure that the quality of debt advice is improved where required, maintained and provided in accordance with regulation, project requirements, best practice, and agreed standards.  This includes:

• Working in collaboration with suppliers to make tailored recommendations and providing feedback to improve the quality of debt advice and client experience in a delivery supplier as appropriate, and identify good practice, where applicable

• Measuring and analysing information gathered against risk ratings, quality frameworks and standards and liaising with delivery suppliers to agree improvement action plans using the results of assessments and analysis

• Liaising with delivery suppliers about the practical arrangements required to carry out the monitoring of their work and improvement plans and ensure understanding of the service improvement process

• Supporting, where appropriate, the implementation of any follow on/corrective action following the assessment and /or support visits/file reviews.

Support participants internal and external quality assurance, quality related grant requirements and quality improvement schemes by:

• Ensuring delivery partners and advisers understand the objectives of the service and quality requirements.

• Facilitating the smooth application of the quality improvement process as required by LCALC and/ or the funder including writing guidance documents, regular liaison with the delivery suppliers and answering ad hoc queries.

Project compliance and quality requirements are achieved by:

• Ensuring delivery suppliers have a good awareness and understanding of the quality and service delivery requirements through communications and active involvement in the delivery of EMMA events related to quality improvement.

• Providing support and advice to delivery suppliers and other internal colleagues on the quality requirements and service delivery standards.

• Escalating risks promptly and appropriately.

• Providing support with delivery and quality compliance and performance management activities, including active involvement in performance enhancement plans as appropriate.

• Contributing to the design of monitoring and reporting processes.

• Respond to requests from delivery suppliers for support with quality matters and proactively encourage delivery suppliers to engage with quality improvement activities.

• Ensure that work undertaken reflects and supports equality and diversity.

Support the implementation of best practice systems and processes

Implement best practice systems and processes to ensure the development and improvement of delivery and advice services, including:

• Providing reports and/or data on trends, compliance, and quality.

• Liaising with colleagues to identify key learning points and delivery issues, to inform the development of EMMA.

• Identifying training and development needs within delivery suppliers, and work with colleagues and MaPS to improve the quality of advice services.

• Facilitate the sharing of learning and good practice identified through quality assurance and service improvement across EMMA delivery partners.

• Support delivery partners to maintain systems and processes for service delivery, management and improvement to ensure effective and consistent delivery of the quality of debt advice work.

The Degrees Initiative is a UK-based NGO that builds the capacity of developing countries to evaluate solar radiation modification (SRM), a controversial proposal for reducing some impacts of climate change by reflecting sunlight away from the Earth. Degrees is neutral on whether SRM should ever be used, but we believe that developing countries should be empowered to conduct their own research and to play a central role in SRM discussions.

Degrees’ programmatic work is centred on capacity-building through research grants and North–South and South–South collaboration schemes, outreach activities, and cross-cutting community building. As part of this, Degrees runs workshops in the Global South that bring new voices into the SRM conversation, and our research funds support scientists and other experts in developing countries as they research what SRM could mean for their regions and become part of a global research community.

The Policy Engagement Assistant role offers a fantastic opportunity for the right candidate to help scale up the organisation’s work, building on the successes of the last decade, and to help the most climate-vulnerable countries make up their own minds about SRM.
