The Senior Partnerships Officer will work closely with the Partnership's & Development Manager and Head of Fundraising to continually develop and maintain strategy for maximising income from corporate supporters. You will have personal responsibility for a portfolio of prospective and existing corporate supporters to solicit large donations, apply for funding and ensure meaningful partnerships are created.

They are looking for someone with proven experience of creating meaningful multi-year partnerships, securing sizeable donations. You will also have demonstrable experience of meeting/exceeding targets set.

The Job

ABRSM is seeking an experienced and proactive Head of Financial Accounting & Tax to lead statutory reporting, financial controls, and tax compliance. Reporting directly to the CFO, this pivotal role oversees one of three core finance functions, working alongside the Head of FP&A and the Head of Transactional Finance. You will manage a team of three directly and six in total.

You will be responsible for the monthly close, preparation of statutory accounts (including SORP‑compliant charity accounts), and management of external audit, while ensuring UK and international tax compliance in partnership with external advisors. Together with the Head of Production and other Stage Manager, the SM is responsible for the planning, coordination and delivery of the stage management, instrument transportation and technical requirements of the Orchestra.

Key Responsibilities 

• To work as a member of the Concerts Department to assist with the planning of all Orchestra activity,liaising with other departments, as required

• To assist in organising the transportation of the Orchestra’s instruments for all engagements including rehearsals, concerts, film sessions, audio recordings and tours, both in the UK and overseas, including preparing detailed truck schedules and loading lists for each project.

• To communicate truck movements and instrument logistics to players as required

• To safely load and unload the Orchestra truck and any other vehicle, as required, for all Orchestra activity

• To prepare stage plans in advance of each project using Concept Draw Diagram software, or similar, to update these plans with any changes and to take photographs of each setup for future reference

• To ensure the stage is set correctly, promptly and safely for any orchestra activity, and to liaise with conductors, soloists, agents, staff and members of the Orchestra as necessary, to establish any changes that need to be made and provide a safe, calm and supportive environment that allows musicians to perform at their best

• To ensure all stage moves (during performances and otherwise) are professionally and efficiently executed

• To liaise with the Royal Festival Hall and all other venues, in the UK and overseas, regarding the Orchestra’s staging needs, and to work with venue staff to ensure that any lighting/staging issues are promptly dealt with

• To keep an updated record of the Orchestra inventory and ensure that the Orchestral storerooms are kept well-organised, clean and tidy

• To work with the Head of Production, Stage Manager, Principal Percussionist and Timpanist and other players and staff as needed, to hire any instruments or equipment that may be required within budgets set by the Concerts’ Department, and to process any relevant invoices for purchases, instrument hire or repair

• To engage and supervise casual stage crew as needed throughout the orchestra’s activity, ensuring that such staff maintain the professional standards required by the Philharmonia

• To offer support to the Librarian[s], putting out and collecting pads of music, as required 

• To be responsible for performing regular maintenance on all equipment such as flight cases, music stands, acoustic screens and percussion equipment as and when required, and engaging specialist services where appropriate

• To ensure all Health and Safety policies and safe working policies are adhered to

• To be aware of issues surrounding musicians’ hearing health and take proactive steps to safeguard the health of the orchestra’s musicians at each and every engagement

• To represent the Orchestra as a member of the Concerts’ team, and maintain positive relationships with external venue staff, transport staff, instrument hire companies, agents, conductors and soloists.

• To undertake such other duties as may reasonably be required by the Company

Skills and Qualifications

You’ll use your quality improvement expertise to support health & care professionals with projects and programmes, equipping them with the latest tools, resources, evidence and data to develop and improve services for people with Parkinson’s.

As our Policy Officer for Health and Care you’ll research, develop and disseminate policy positions to support BHF’s strategic aim to achieve the best health outcomes for those living with cardiovascular disease.

Acquiring a solid understanding of topics relevant to our health policy portfolio in England, particularly those aspects most directly tied to improving the detection and treatment of cardiovascular diseases, you’ll be responsible for researching and drafting new policy positions, proactively identifying gaps and opportunities, and working closely with colleagues in Public Affairs and Communications to drive change based on policy positions.

Working arrangements

This is a hybrid role, where your work will be split between your home and at least one day per week, on average, in our London Office. This may vary from time to time, so you will need to work in a flexible way to unlock your best work for our cause.
 
About you

With experience working in policy development, health and care, or a related field, you’ll have knowledge of healthcare systems in England, health and care policy and/or experience of working in a research environment.

The Purpose of the role is to lead in the day to day operational management of Vincentian Care Plus (VCP) through effective leadership and delivery of high quality care within the framework of Care Quality Commission’s Fundamental Standards of Care.

The Registered Manager will be accountable and will be working closely with the Chief Executive Officer to encompass the management of all services within the organisation’s policies and procedures.

Manage the Safety and Quality of the Organisation

· Ensure that the service meets all the quality control requirements to remain compliant at all times.

Leadership

· To fulfil all duties as Registered Manager in accordance with Care Quality Commission requirements.

· Manage the finance of the Charity by fully understanding the current financial status and working within the budget constraints to ensure the budget is met at all times.

· Oversee all administrative systems to ensure factual, accurate information is held and that all computerised and manual records are up to date.

Staff Management

· To be responsible for and manage a team of office and care staff within a budgeted establishment ensuring appropriate skill mix to maintain the high care standards.

· Lead the staff team to provide a high standard of person centred care based on a Vincentian ethos and philosophy of care, which recognises and respects the dignity of each resident as a unique individual.

· Manage the effective recruitment, induction, training and performance of the office and field staff teams.

· Identify ongoing training needs and ensure staff are up to date with current best practice.

· To take part in training opportunities in the Vincentian tradition of working and to promote these values to all members of staff.

You will work on key actions, such as working with transport providers on support of bus shelter upgrades, leading on the chatty bus campaign, supporting the implementation of age friendly training for bus drivers and improving access to transport information, as well as other forms of transport including community transport schemes. In addition, you will play a key role with the programme communications and working with local communities, including overseeing and maintaining our approach to keeping contact with members, responding to enquiries and requests, coordinating events and email communications.
