We are looking for a passionate Disabled person to join our organisation as a Trainee Caseworker. 

Hours: 21-28 hours per week (flexibility around working hours/pattern)

Trainee Salary Band: £24,720 - £28,840 (pro rata and per year)

Start Date: 1 May 2026 or as soon as possible thereafter

Location: Hybrid (Home and Vestry Hall, Mitcham)

Contract Type: Fixed term until 1 May 2027.

Over one year, we will train, develop and coach an individual to build skills to provide casework support relating to health, welfare benefits, grant applications, discretionary travel, housing, aids and adaptations and/or adult social care.

The role will support our accredited Information and Advice Service and Speaking Up Service. 

Previous experience is not essential but a passion to fight for justice and an interest in learning and developing your skills, knowledge and practice is.

The Role: We are seeking passionate and creative people to teach one-to-one lessons with young people across London, working both in students’ homes and other public spaces. You do not need to be a qualified teacher, we will provide your training. Our students have high needs including SEN, medical needs, and SEMH, making mainstream school unsuitable. The work is varied, challenging, and immensely rewarding. You’ll be backed by a dedicated office education team, including a QTS teacher who will mentor you, as well as specialists in safeguarding, wellbeing, and interventions. Requirements:

• Legal right to work in the UK.
• Enhanced DBS Certificate and Overseas Police Clearances (if applicable).
• Two professional reference checks.
• Experience working with young people, ideally with SEN or SEMH.
• Willingness to teach English, Maths and Science up to KS3 or KS4 level, with support.
• GCSE in Maths/English/Science at C or above.

Pay:

• From £28,361.02

Training:

• Induction Day: One full day (9:00 am – 3:45 pm).
• Induction Training Sessions: Five Tuesday afternoons (4:30 – 6:00 pm).
• Ongoing Professional Development: Weekly sessions on Thursday afternoons (4:30 – 6:00 pm).

About the Role

Our Day Care Centres – Great Croft (Kings Cross) and Henderson Court (Hampstead) – support older people with complex needs, including those living with dementia.

As a Day Care Officer you will:

• Support group activities such as arts, music, quizzes and gentle exercise

• Assist with personal care and mobility

• Support clients living with dementia using person-centred approaches

• Help with daily centre activities including serving meals and preparing activity spaces

• Build positive relationships with clients, families and colleagues

About You

About the role 

We are looking for a motivated educator who is available to assist the team with delivering sessions in secondary schools. The candidate will have an understanding of anti-Muslim hatred and discrimination and how this affects young people in the UK today. This is a pilot programme delivering in schools across Bradford, London, Birmingham and Blackburn. We are recruiting facilitators from each city. 

This exciting role offers great flexibility. You won't have set working hours, but we are looking for someone who is passionate about our project and will be available to deliver sessions between April – July 2026. Following the pilot, there is a potential the work will resume again from October. We are looking for people who are eager to learn. Once you join the team, you will be given in-depth paid training on how to deliver the content.
