Job description

Salary: £40,000-£45,000 per annum

Hours: 35 hours per week, we are open to considering job share arrangements for this position

Location: London Coliseum/Greater Manchester, we are open to considering candidates based in either location for this position

We're looking for an enthusiastic and people-centred Internal Communications Manager to join our Audiences team and playing a key role in shaping how colleagues connect, engage and thrive at ENO and the London Coliseum.

This role is central to ensuring our teams feel informed, connected and confident in their work. You will deliver clear, engaging and purposeful internal communications that not only keep people informed, but actively celebrate our shared purpose and deepen understanding of how individual roles contribute to ENO’s vision, mission, values and behaviours.

ENO is made up of a wide and diverse community of people working both as staff and freelancers across artistic, technical, production, creative, administrative and participation roles. Managed by ENO, the London Coliseum also operates as a major West End venue, so internal communications support colleagues across artistic, commercial and visitor facing activity. Our teams work across different sites and in varied patterns, so communication must be accessible, inclusive and easy for everyone to engage with.

Requirements:

  • Experience in internal communications in a complex or multi-disciplinary organisation

  • Excellent writing, editing and storytelling skills

  • Strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to build relationships across a wide range of teams

  • Confidence supporting senior leaders’ communication needs

  • Strong organisational and prioritisation skills

  • Sensitivity, discretion and sound judgment

Application deadline: 10am, Wednesday 20 May 2026

Interviews: w/c 1 June 2026

English National Opera is an Equal Opportunities employer, and we strive to create an inclusive working environment that reflects the diverse communities we serve. As we work to address underrepresentation in our workforce, we particularly encourage potential candidates from underrepresented groups and communities to apply, including those from global majority backgrounds and/or with protected characteristics, including race, disability, sexual orientation, gender reassignment and religion and belief. We will provide appropriate support for candidates with access requirements if they identify as disabled. This includes during the application process and through candidate assessment stages.
