The programme is one of the Violence Reduction Unit’s flagship projects across Greater Manchester and is in line with the ambitions of the Greater Manchester Violence Reduction Strategy and Public Service Reform programme to involve communities to identify priorities, problem solve and direct investment and interventions accordingly. In Salford, the programme will be delivered within Little Hulton.
Hours: Part-time, 18.75 hours per week.

About the role:
Reporting to the Head of Programme Finance, you will provide effective financial business partnering to MAG’s Regional and Country Programmes, Strategic Partnerships team and other key internal and external stakeholders. You will be a finance professional with significant experience in either commercial or NGO environments, including preparation of business planning in complex scenarios and multiple currencies. This is a varied role leading a small but impactful charity. As our Operations Manager, you will lead a diverse team of volunteers, and work alongside a small staff team, to lead RAIS Lancaster’s work supporting asylum and refugees through drop-ins, office-based appointments, and projects.

ABOUT THE CHARITY
RAIS Lancaster is a charity founded in 2017 to offer advocacy, information, and support to refugees and asylum seekers in our area. We are volunteer-led, with a small staff team of two currently. We currently offer five drop-ins a week for asylum seekers and refugees, in collaboration with partner organisations, in Lancaster and Morecambe. Each drop-in is staffed by paid and voluntary workers.
We also conduct support work for asylum seekers and refugees facing more complex issues in one-to-one appointments in our office at the Cornerstone in Lancaster, and accompany clients to appointments where appropriate to offer support and advocacy. As the needs of asylum seekers and refugees in our area change, we adapt and develop our work to support those we work with. We are expecting to soon be registered with the Immigration Advice Authority.

Sundial Centre for Education on Harmful Practices (“Sundial” previously called Oxford Against Cutting) delivers high quality education and training on harmful practices, such as female genital mutilation (FGM), ‘honour’-based abuse (HBA) and online harms. We offer safeguarding training for teams of professionals such as teachers, police and social workers. We also deliver lessons in schools, as well as workshops for community groups.
