We have an excellent opportunity for an Individual Giving Officer to join King’s College Hospital Charity. The money the charity raises helps to fund cutting-edge facilities and equipment as well as pioneering research and treatment. The Individual Giving Officer role has come about due to growth and investment in the team. You will report into the Individual Giving Manager and will help achieve the income target of £1.3 million. You will be given the opportunity to work across all channels (f2f, telemarketing, direct mail and digital) and income streams (regular giving, lottery, in memory and legacy giving). Tasks will include, day to day admin for campaigns; running a direct mail appeal (with income between £10-20K); copy and content creation; research; invoice processing and complaint handling; speaking to donors; liaising with external agencies; and working on the stewardship journey.

There is a wealth of potential in the fundraising team at King’s College Hospital Charity and there is a lot of opportunity for you achieve new things and help shape the direction and future success of their IG programme.

An opportunity has become available for a Senior Researcher to join the National Collaborating Centre for Mental Health to provide maternity leave cover for 11 months in the first instance.

You will lead in the development of competence frameworks, systematic reviews, evaluations, research reports and articles for peer-reviewed publication, as well as other research tasks. You will be expected to plan consultations with stakeholders and implement advice from Expert Reference Groups in important and complex issues in mental health care, including dementia and gender identity services.

The Senior Researcher will be expected to supervise the research team in searching for literature, sifting articles, data extraction, data synthesis and quality appraisal and lead the writing of reviews. Importantly, you will be expected to manage the components of complex projects and deliver high quality outputs on time. 

We are seeking an individual with a background in mental health services, competence frameworks or systematic reviewing, who has a PhD in a related field (e.g. psychology, systematic reviewing, mental health, healthcare management), and has experience of managing or leading research projects.

Programme Delivery Officer role

We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic candidate to join our Programmes Team as a Programme Delivery Officer. PDOs will be responsible for supporting and coordinating the delivery of the First Give programme in up to 50 schools, ensuring smooth running of the programme, plus providing guidance and troubleshooting for the lead teachers at First Give partner schools.

Would you like to make a positive difference to the lives of survivors of torture? Do you have experience of coordinating clinical services delivery to marginalised groups in a community setting?​

We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Clinical Psychologist to work with an innovative and friendly multidisciplinary team at our London Centre.​

You will line manage and supervise highly skilled and dedicated clinicians, in the service delivery of a range of NICE guideline recommended therapy interventions, offered to our clients, who are survivors of torture and organised violence. You will report to the Adult Team Manager, London and operate as an integral part of the London Clinical Services Team. This is an exciting chance to join us as we place survivor empowerment and movement building at the heart of our four-year strategy and work together to increase the number of clients who can access our services. It is based in a centre specifically designed to be a safe and welcoming environment for survivors and includes gardens and growing facilities.

About the role

This is a wide-ranging position, and your key areas of responsibility will include:

• To work with the Adult Team Manager and Heads of Clinical Services to implement FFT’s strategic goals. It will involve providing line management to paid staff and volunteers from different professions and disciplines and provide professional and clinical supervision to qualified clinicians and trainees in the service including, clinical/counselling psychologists. This role may also include providing remote clinical supervision to clinicians in our other regional centres (North West England and Scotland).
• To ensure that Freedom from Torture's clinical model continues to be fully rolled out, with particular emphasis on survivor empowerment and evidence-based practice for addressing PTSD and other mental health impacts of torture.
• Championing people development as well as influence delivery of evidenced -based practice, clinical standards, quality initiatives and audit-based services.
• To formulate and negotiate psychological treatment and management plans for referred clients and to provide psychological treatment, using a range of specialist psychological interventions appropriate to the service in line with the new clinical model “Pathways” (drawing on a range of evidence-based models for the presenting problems of the clients).
• Being an effective role model and leader to encourage, develop and enhance skills of others.​

About you

This is an important role within Freedom from Torture. To be successful in this role you must have a high level of commitment to maintaining excellent standards of client care and service delivery. It is a key requirement that you must have knowledge of appropriate clinical standards and external regulatory bodies. You must also have sound financial awareness and experience of balancing the provision of quality care against budgetary parameters.

To be considered for this role you must be a Psychologist registered with HCPC and have qualified with a doctorate or equivalent in either clinical or counselling psychology. You must have professional experience of working with clients with complex PTSD and have post-qualification experience of using evidence-based trauma focused therapy models. It is essential that you have a clear understanding of the experience of refugees and people seeking asylum, both in terms of pre-flight experience and the experience of living in exile. You must have previous management and supervision experience and be able to provide demonstrable examples of how you have successfully led and influenced clinical teams within community or health care settings.

Job Description

• Job Title: Charityworks Trainee

• Employer: One of our Charityworks partner organisations.  These organisations are subject to change each year but often include a range of non-profit partners from NSPCC, Guide Dogs, Barnardo’s, Christian Aid, Network Homes, Accent Housing and many more. 

• Location: Placements will take place in leading non-profit organisations across a number of locations across the UK. There will be a range of working patterns available including partly remote or blended working possibilities.

• Hours: Usually 9am - 5pm with some flexibility according to the requirements of the placement and your host organisation. 

• Contract: Fixed term, 12 months.

• Salary: The salary will meet the Living Wage as set by the Living Wage Foundation at the time of writing. This is outlined above.

As YoungMinds’ Senior Safeguarding Officer, you will play a key part in helping to promote the safety and wellbeing of everyone who comes into contact with YoungMinds – whether that’s via our Activist programme, our campaigns, individual and corporate fundraising, our Parents Helpline, social media, training and service design work or any of the charity’s other activities. It’s a role that engages with colleagues across the organisation, at all levels, and will give you the opportunity to contribute to YoungMinds’ ‘culture of care’ approach to safeguarding.

You will build excellent, trusting relationships with teams where safeguarding concerns are most frequently managed, and be available to guide them, and all other staff and volunteers, in their day-to-day practice, as well as when a safeguarding emergency arises. When necessary, you will confidently use your knowledge of safeguarding and child/adult protection thresholds to take appropriate actions, including creating and maintaining high-quality records, signposting, and referring cases to statutory bodies for investigation. You will frequently provide support out-of-hours where YoungMinds activities are happening in the evenings, weekends or overnight.

Key Duties and Responsibilities 

• Provide safeguarding advice, direction and support to staff and volunteers and take over the management of cases if necessary.
• Manage and escalate referrals to other organisations where appropriate.
• Apply YoungMinds’ procedures for information sharing internally and externally, including keeping records of concerns, incidents and referrals.
• Sign off risk assessments created by teams across the organisation for all events involving young people or where other risks are identified.
• Manage the on-call workload of the safeguarding team and Lead Safeguarding Officers, including the planning of out of hours safeguarding support. Please note: this role will require you to be on-call on a frequent basis.
• Support the Senior Safeguarding Manager in delivering organisational safeguarding priorities and contribute to safeguarding audit processes.
• Deliver safeguarding training across the organisation, including induction and refresher training, and support facilitation of bespoke safeguarding training.
• Share experiences and learning with other YoungMinds colleagues.
• Deputise for the Senior Safeguarding Manager and represent the safeguarding team at internal and external meetings and other events where necessary.
• Champion, contribute to and invest in YoungMinds’ ‘culture of care’.
• Other duties that may from time to time be necessary, compatible with the nature and grade of this post.

Dementia is the biggest health and care challenge of our time – can you help us solve it? 
Our Policy Officers play a key role in deciding and driving forward Alzheimer’s Society’s positions on the major policy issues affecting people living with dementia today. They are at the heart of what Alzheimer’s Society thinks and are instrumental to our organisational messaging. 
In this role, you’ll be horizon scanning the external environment, considering evidence, and engaging with stakeholders across England, Wales and Northern Ireland to inform our policy development and influencing work nationally and locally. You’ll help shape recommendations that we take right to the top decision-makers and respond to a rapidly evolving policy space. 
We need a confident communicator and collaborator, a critical thinker, and ultimately a brilliant policy mind to deliver on our ambitious integrated plans for diagnosis, care and treatment (with a particular focus on diagnosis).

Technical Research Expertise

• Expert knowledge of quantitative and qualitative research methodologies including RCTs, quasi-experimental methods; including multi-country evaluations and ethical research management.
• Proficiency in advanced statistical analysis and research data interpretation. Excellent data analysis skills using statistical software packages (STATA or R) and advanced excel skills; experience of advanced quantitative analysis techniques such as Interrupted Time Series Analysis, multilevel regression etc.

• Proficiency in developing new metrics and frameworks for assessing program impact, particularly in equity, disability, and marginalized group outcomes.
• Deep understanding of research ethics, protocols, and quality assurance processes
• Highly proficient in steering large-scale third-party evaluations.

Sector Expertise

• Substantial experience in sexual and reproductive health research
• Understanding of SRH research challenges, indicators, and measurement approaches
• Knowledge of key global health research institutions and networks
• Familiarity with demographic and health research data sources and methodologies

Stakeholder Engagement and communication

• Highly developed skills to influence and persuade ability to quickly and effectively build relationships with team members and stakeholders at all levels.
• Proven ability to communicate complex research concepts to diverse audiences

• Confident public speaking and strong communication skills, with the ability to craft persuasive, evidence-based narratives tailored to diverse external audiences such as donors, policymakers, and partners.
• Strong networks within academic research community and global health institutions

To perform this role, you’ll need the following experience:

• Extensive (minimum of 8 years) experience in leading research in global health
• Strong track record in managing multi-country research initiatives and partnerships.
• Demonstrated experience in thought leadership, research dissemination, and donor engagement.
• Proven ability to manage teams, budgets, and deliver high-quality research outputs in a fast-paced environment.

Formal education/qualification

• Advanced degree in Public Health, Social Sciences, or related fields is essential.
• Additional qualification or formal training in research design or impact evaluation desirable
• Proficiency in French is highly desirable (please state level in application)
• Additional qualification or formal training in research design, epidemiology or impact evaluation, data visualisation such as PowerBI; advanced excel skills - desirable
