The Role 

We are looking for an experienced Social Worker to join our London & South East Team supporting children and young people diagnosed with cancer.

We pride ourselves on delivering the highest quality support tailored to the needs of the children and young people and their families. The work we do is rewarding but also complex and demanding. You will be part of a close-knit Young Lives vs Cancer social work team, working with an established NHS multi-disciplinary team and services in the community.

This role is part home, part site-based. Your contractual base will be both Home and Great Ormond Street Hospital.

You will have:

• A recognised Social Worker qualification and current registration with Social Work England/ Scottish Social Services Council/Social Care Wales/Northern Ireland Social Care Council
• Experience working with children, young people and their families/carers in a social care setting.
• Experience of working in a multi-disciplinary environment, ideally in an NHS setting.
• Sound knowledge of child and young people development.
• An understanding of the impact of serious illness for children, young people and their families.
• Excellent interpersonal skills.

Key Responsibilities

The demands of this role will be both operations specific and general to Figurative. You will play an important role in supporting the operations and finance functions within Figurative. In particular, this includes:

● Responsibility for accounts receivable and accounts payable management, across both Figurative and its impact investment funds

● Supplier communications and management, including maintenance of up-to-date records and contracts

● Maintaining up-to-date records of credit card expenses and receipts

● Updating cash reconciliations and payment trackers and providing updates and accurate corresponding figures to the Investment Team and Operations Manager

● Maintaining Figurative’s shared drive, ensuring all documents are filed in a timely and well-organised manner

● Providing administrative support in the monitoring of organisation and fund reporting requirements

● Working closely with Figurative’s Operations Manager to ensure new company-wide initiatives are established and maintained with strong and compliant operational and financial processes

The general Figurative duties will include:

The Impact Assistant is a new role at Figurative that will primarily support work on the Arts & Culture Impact Fund (“ACIF”), an £18m social investment fund which seeks to enable enterprising arts, culture and heritage organisations to fulfil their missions through the use of flexible and risk-tolerant finance. The Impact Assistant will also contribute to Figurative’s emerging advisory work, providing impact development support to the creative and cultural sector.

Key Responsibilities

The demands of this role will be both fund (ACIF) specific and general to Figurative. You will play an important role in assessing and understanding the social impact enabled through ACIF. In particular, this includes:

• Providing administrative support in the monitoring of impact delivery and reporting requirements across a portfolio of investments to ensure requirements are met in a timely manner
• Working closely with Figurative’s Impact Lead and wider Investment team to develop new investment proposals to the ACIF investment committee
• Contributing to assessments of the expected impact of each investment proposal as part of the social impact due diligence process

Leading national policy strategy

As Head of Policy and Public Affairs, you will work closely with the CEO to develop and execute a four-year influencing plan.  Together we’ll aim to shift local and national incentives on inclusion by 2030, which see the national trend of rising suspension and absence begin to fall. 

You will hold relationships with the Department for Education and Ofsted and advise on policy priorities ahead, such as:

• Widening the definition of inclusion beyond special needs, recognising the needs of those young people historically or currently interacting with social services

• Reducing perverse incentives for schools to alter their school roll through admissions and pupil exits

• Expectations for multi-academy trusts in capturing and analysing data on lost learning, including how it disproportionately affects different groups

• Improving local alternative provision eco-systems, to improve outcomes for young people

• National standards for inclusive school practice, at a universal and targeted level

Developing implementation expertise in the middle tier

In your first six months, you will advise on the internal development of a new programme for middle tier policy actors: multi-academy trust and local authority leaders.  You will support the Programme team in its design, to plan strategically for the recruitment of trusts and local authorities, and you will plan the research and influencing work which will seek to share their success nationally.

Building the evidence base

In your second six months, you will work with the CEO to build out our research function. Your influencing plan will include how The Difference can learn from the work across our multi-academy trust, local authority and internal AP pioneer partners over the next four years, to develop influential publications. The Relationship Fundraising team at Alzheimer’s Research UK (ARUK) is responsible for securing income from individuals, regional businesses and groups fundraising in the community, effectively managing relationships to maximise income.

The Relationship Fundraising role will play a significant part in contributing to a high-performing fundraising team. The role will cover the country of Northern Ireland.

You will report to the Relationship Fundraising Manager and support the Head of Relationship Fundraising & Volunteering to drive the continued growth of the charity’s fundraising income in your area. You will also be required to show excellent relationship-building skills to support community partnerships and volunteer groups, driving towards agreed targets.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategy, finance, and reporting

· Responsibility for stewardship and relationship building with supporters within the region.

· Identify and apply for ‘Charity of the Year’ partnerships with corporates in the region, account manage these relationships up to a value of £50,000 per annum and support the Partnership Development Team with national partnerships in your region.

Job Title: Corporate Fundraiser (London)

This is a newly created role, designed to strengthen our corporate fundraising activity and build impactful partnerships across the UK.

Location: Hybrid (remote and on-site as required)

Salary: £45,000 per year plus London weighting.

Hours: Full-time – 37.5 hours per week

Type: Permanent – with 6-month probationary period

Organisation Overview

The County Air Ambulance Trust has been providing essential funds that help to save lives for over a quarter of century, registered as a charity in 1996. From its regional beginnings it has become a national charity and since 2009, following the launch of the HELP Appeal, the charity has been raising much needed funds to provide life-saving helipads where they are needed most

Our HELP (Helicopter Emergency Landing Pads) Appeal is the only charity in the country funding helipads at NHS hospitals. Our mission is to ensure that patients receive timely care by facilitating rapid air ambulance access to hospitals, enhancing patient survival and recovery prospects. 

Main Duties and Responsibilities

• Identify, research and secure high-value corporate partnerships to generate significant income. This role focuses on developing partnerships with national organisations across the UK, not solely London-based corporates.
• Develop tailored proposals and sponsorship packages for large corporate organisations.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with corporate partners, ensuring excellent stewardship and long-term engagement.
• Represent HELP Appeal at networking events, meetings, and presentations to cultivate new opportunities.
• Collaborate with colleagues within the fundraising function and marketing/events teams to deliver partnership benefits and maximise impact.
• Maintain accurate CRM records and produce regular reports on progress against targets.
• Ensure all fundraising activities comply with legal and ethical standards and reflect best practice.
• Communicate the mission and impact of HELP Appeal effectively to inspire corporate support.
• We expect all staff to undertake any other duties within the scope, spirit and purpose of the job, as requested by your line manager on behalf of the charity.

Person Specification

Essential:

• Proven experience in corporate fundraising.
• Strong networking and relationship-building skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
• Confidence in presenting to senior stakeholders and negotiating partnerships.

Desirable:

• Experience in major donor fundraising.
• Knowledge of CSR trends and charity sector partnerships.

Other:

• Access to own vehicle and willingness to travel.
• Flexibility for occasional evening and weekend work.
