About the Role

The Diocese is seeking to appoint a new independent Chair to this important group, which oversees safeguarding policy, procedures, and practice across the Diocese. The Chair will lead a multi-agency panel that meets four times a year, with members also contributing to other time-limited safeguarding initiatives.

Working closely with the Diocesan Safeguarding Adviser and senior diocesan leaders, the Chair will set the agenda for safeguarding accountability, oversee strategic risks, and offer advice that shapes diocesan safeguarding culture.

Spotlight on Corruption is a UK-based charity, founded in September 2019, that shines a light on the UK’s role in corruption at home and abroad. We want to see a society with strong, transparent and accountable institutions which ensure corruption is not tolerated and democracy flourishes both in the UK and globally.

We track how the UK is implementing its anti-corruption laws and monitor the effectiveness of anti-corruption enforcement in the UK. We build the evidence base for reform through our unique court monitoring programme as well as investigative research and extensive engagement with experts and frontline practitioners. The successes of our legal work include intervening in a major Court of Appeal case to safeguard the UK’s anti-money laundering regime, supporting a challenge to reveal the identity of a major political donor in a dirty money case, and winning the right to publish the jury bundle in a high-profile trial about a corrupt arms deal. 

Acting as policy entrepreneurs, we develop innovative and pragmatic solutions and disseminate our work through hard-hitting reports and briefings to inform decision-makers and the general public. We follow through with dogged advocacy, working in a highly collaborative manner to build consensus for reform.

What we are looking for

We are looking for a recent law graduate or early career professional with an outstanding eye for detail, strong analytical and research skills, and demonstrable experience in writing and communicating persuasively.

Working closely with our tight-knit and dynamic team, you will help deliver our unique court monitoring programme by following major cases related to corruption and economic crime that are heard in the UK courts. This work will give you invaluable first-hand exposure to legal proceedings across a range of courts and tribunals in England and Wales – not only high-profile criminal prosecutions and asset recovery proceedings, but also major commercial litigation and other civil claims, as well as judicial review proceedings and regulatory enforcement action.

As the legal fellow, you will benefit from the mentorship of a leading barrister as well as other support when drafting court applications or submissions and scoping potential opportunities for strategic litigation that could advance Spotlight’s advocacy objectives. Working closely with the Deputy Director, you will also engage with other top lawyers who serve on Spotlight’s strategic litigation advisory board. In the course of this work, you will help build our relationships with the legal sector as well as strengthen our relationships with law enforcement agencies, civil servants, journalists, and civil society partners, particularly in the Global South.

Drawing on your close monitoring of court cases and engagement with law enforcement agencies, legal practitioners and other experts, you will contribute evidence-based research, briefings, blogs and commentary on core areas of our work. This will require forensic attention to detail, strong quantitative and qualitative research skills, and a flair for communicating complex issues in a compelling and accessible way. 

You will be confident working with complex legal materials and following court proceedings while showing enthusiastic, creative and strategic engagement with the broader policy issues arising from our casework. You will feel comfortable drafting briefings to inform parliamentarians and influence decision-makers as well as contributing blogs and rapid-response social media commentary on key developments to advance Spotlight’s key messages.

The successful applicant must be London based in order to attend court hearings and regular team meetings. 

Key Responsibilities: 

• Checking court lists, attending court hearings and writing accessible, high-quality monitoring notes

• Assisting with the drafting of applications and representations to the court on open justice issues including access to court documents and reporting restrictions orders

About the Role

You will be responsible for offering infant feeding support for parents within Hackney borough community, within Family hub settings as well as in Homerton Hospital. Some of the key responsibilities of the role include:

· Providing breastfeeding support to families within family hubs settings within Hackney and on the wards at Homerton            hospital.

· Support in delivering inductions for volunteer peer supporters. 

· To report any concerns or additional support needs of women to the NCT management team and/or Infant Feeding                 Lead for referral onto partner agencies as appropriate.  

· To attend regular supervision/support sessions. 

· Having a good working knowledge and understanding of the local demographics in the Hackney area and ensuring all          support is accessible and inclusive.

· Ensure that data collection and feedback is collected in a timely manner in an inclusive way.

You must have good communication skills and be able to build relationships and create a rapport with a wide range of people easily. This is a large project and covers multiple locations so you must be able to confidently prioritise your own work, be highly organised and able to work independently.

Being able to make decisions and respond appropriately to our staff, peer supporters and parents and other external stakeholders is essential, alongside good IT skills– including Outlook, Word and Excel – and you must have good attention to detail.
 
It is essential for this post that you undertake the training to become an NCT Breastfeeding Peer Supporter. This requires experience of giving breast milk. The training can be undertaken within your working hours.

The role is 21 hours per week which will be predominantly Monday to Friday within the working day, however, will include occasional evening and weekends. This role is mainly based at family hubs setting across Hackney borough as well as in Homerton Hospital.

We have created this new post and are looking for a creative, welcoming coordinator to help us grow and meet the needs of our community. The postholder will coordinate the welcome experience, the community space, and the communications with the group. As such you will need to have an eye for detail to make sure that we’re engaging a diverse group across all areas of England, be a great communicator across individual, small group and entire community communications, and be able to deliver on small projects working across Become’s teams. Although this role will be remote and there will be limited face-to-face time with young people, there will be direct communication so building safe and trusted relationships will be key.

Location

We are currently hybrid working: our team primarily works from home with in-person attendance and meetings generally expected once or twice per month, usually at our central hot-desking location in Old Street, London. For non-London based staff we will consider hot-desking options near you, if required. Additionally, Become covers the cost of UK travel for these essential in-person meetings. Purpose of the Role  

To coordinate Imkaan’s engagement with parliamentary spaces, campaigns, and influencing work. The postholder will support the organisation’s advocacy strategies, develop political communications, and strengthen relationships with policymakers, stakeholders, and the media to further the rights and recognition of Black and Minoritised women and girls affected by violence.  
The Parliamentary and Campaigns Coordinator will lead Imkaan’s parliamentary engagement and campaigning activity, ensuring the voices and experiences of Black and Minoritised women and girls are heard at the highest levels of decision-making. 

You will build relationships with MPs, peers, parliamentary committees, and government departments, track legislation and policy developments, and coordinate public campaigns to influence change. You will also work closely with Imkaan’s members to support grassroots mobilisation and bring frontline voices into national conversations. 

This is a strategic and creative role for someone with strong political instincts, excellent communication skills, and a deep commitment to justice for Black and Minoritised women and girls. 

 Key Responsibilities  

1) Campaign Strategy and Development 

• Support the design and delivery of evidence-based campaigns aligned with Imkaan’s strategic priorities. 

• Work with internal teams to craft campaign messages informed by research and sector data. 

• Develop and deliver campaigns that highlight the lived experiences and rights of Black and Minoritised women and girls 

• Work with the Communications Coordinator to create campaign messaging and digital content aligned with Imkaan’s values. Support the mobilisation of members and allies around key policy moments (e.g. consultations, votes, legislation) 

• Monitor impact of campaigns and contribute to cross-organisational reflection and learning. 

• Contribute to cross-organisational policy influencing strategy and calendar 

• Track political developments, maintain contact records and parliamentary timelines 

• Ensure alignment between parliamentary work and Imkaan’s wider research, policy, and membership activity. 

• Support the Policy and Research Manager and Executive Director with high-level influencing opportunities and responses. 

2) Policy and Parliamentary Engagement 

• Monitor UK parliamentary activity, including debates, inquiries, and relevant policy developments. 

• Prepare briefings, reports, and policy responses for government and parliamentary audiences. 

• Coordinate engagement with central/local government and VAWG coalitions. 

• Build and maintain relationships with MPs, peers, parliamentary researchers, and civil servants 

• Track and respond to relevant legislation, debates, select committee work, and inquiries. 

• Coordinate Imkaan’s parliamentary engagement strategy, including briefings, evidence submissions, and event planning 

• Prepare Imkaan representatives and members for parliamentary meetings and public speaking engagements 

• Support high-impact events, including parliamentary roundtables, receptions, and cross-sector briefings. 

• Draft political content, including statements, open letters, and responses to emerging issues. 

• Support the leadership team and Board with communications materials, media briefings, and stakeholder messaging. 

• Identify and amplify stories and case studies for campaigns and public awareness. 

3) Membership and Sector Outreach 

• Disseminate Imkaan’s work and campaigns across the membership and wider VAWG sector. 

• Represent member interests within campaigns and coordinate cross-sector advocacy. 

• Support members to engage in political and public campaigning, including training, resources, and shared actions 

• Ensure campaigns reflect the priorities of frontline organisations and are shaped through regular consultation 

• Work collaboratively with partners and allies across the women’s, anti-racist, and human rights sectors.

• Evaluate campaign activities against strategic objectives and funder requirements. 

• Contribute to planning documents, project reports, and performance tracking systems. 

Person Specification 

Essential Experience 

• This post is open to Black and Minoritised women only as permitted under Schedule 9, Part 1 of the Equality Act 2010 (Occupational Requirement). 

• Experience building strategic alliances and working with policymakers or media.

• Demonstrated ability to deliver campaigns or events involving multiple stakeholders. 

• Experience working in the VAWG, criminal justice, immigration or voluntary sector. 

• Experience working in parliamentary affairs, public policy, campaigns, or advocacy within a values-led organisation. 

• Strong understanding of UK political and legislative processes, including how to influence parliamentarians and policymakers. 

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills – able to produce briefings, prepare spokespeople, and speak publicly. 

• Experience developing or delivering campaigns that create impact and mobilise public or political support. 

• Strong relationship-building skills and ability to engage confidently with a range of stakeholders.

• Deep commitment to anti-racism, intersectional feminism, and the rights of Black and Minoritised women and girls 

• Analytical ability to summarise and interpret complex policy landscapes.
