Porchlight is looking for an experienced and compassionate Area Manager to lead the delivery and development of our internal Live Well Kent and Medway (LWKM) services and related support services, including domestic abuse support and work focused on the alleviation of poverty.
This is a key leadership role within our mental health provision. You will provide strong operational oversight across a range of community-based services, ensuring they are safe, person-centred, trauma-informed and delivered to a consistently high standard. Working closely with service managers, internal teams, commissioners, voluntary sector partners and statutory agencies, you will help ensure that people experiencing mental health challenges, domestic abuse, financial hardship or multiple disadvantage receive coordinated and effective support.
You will be responsible for supporting service performance, quality assurance, safeguarding practice, contract compliance and continuous improvement. You will also play an important role in developing staff, strengthening partnerships and identifying opportunities to improve outcomes for people using our services.
We are looking for someone with proven experience of managing mental health or related support services, including leading teams through complexity and change. You will understand the impact of trauma, poverty, domestic abuse and social exclusion, and you will be confident using data, insight and partnership working to improve service delivery. Excellent communication, judgement and organisational skills are essential, alongside a clear commitment to inclusion, safeguarding and recovery-focused practice.

This role requires:
- Leadership experience
- Strong influencing, relationship management and communication skills
- Experience of performance and risk management of complex services and contracts
- Strong strategic skills, with the ability to align and develop services to support the charity’s ambitions and plans.

- Experience of the housing and social care landscape will be helpful but we’re looking for the right person and will invest in your professional development with ongoing training and learning opportunities.

About the Role
As Area Manager you will oversee delivery of high-quality services across Lancashire. This includes:
- Facilitating consultation across the teams and other key stakeholders to develop new and build on existing good practice, implement and support the strategic direction of the area business plan.
- Drive
- ingcontinuous improvement of performance through use of data and other operational information to ensure teams perform to the highest standards at all times.
- Helping to build on and lead external relationships promoting positive working relationships to ensure the best possible support and outcomes is provided to eligible service users.
- Ensuringwe are meeting the needs of our service users to a standard as expected of our commissioners and partners.
As Area Manager, you will develop and maintain effective relationships and formal partnerships across organisations and with key stakeholders, and promote and develop the services of VS. You will be responsible for leading the designated area strategically and ensuring it complies with national service delivery standards and best practice guidelines. You will also represent the charity in an appropriate and professional manner to commissioners, stakeholders, external bodies and the media, whilst acting as a voice for victims to the wider community.
Key responsibilities of the role are to ensure the successful delivery of a high quality, efficient and responsive services to victims, the identification of income growth and partnership opportunities and building relationships with relevant commissioning bodies and other stakeholders. A focus on team development, and the monitoring of performance and quality are key within the role.
Please note that travel across a large area is an essential part of this role and you may be asked to work unsociable hours on occasion. You must be able to attend in person meetings with commissioners and partners across Lancashire well as attending offices to meet returning staff.
