Brief role description:
The Senior Corporate Development and Partnerships Manager/ Head of Corporate Development and Partnerships will be a dynamic and strategic leader who will lead the Forces Employment Charity (FEC)’s business development. This will include researching and identifying new income generation opportunities from corporates, employers and government contracts, when relevant, and converting these into long term relationships. You will lead the team to produce high quality, bespoke proposals, and reports to demonstrate impact and outcomes to help drive the delivery of FEC across the UK.
As part of the Marketing, Communication and Fundraising Directorate, and led by the Director of Marketing,
Communications and Fundraising, you will be supported to be creative in how you grow and uplift new business to contribute to annual growth targets. You will have an entrepreneurial approach to your work to identify and attract new partnerships whilst being responsible for the relationship management of our established corporate partners, focusing on stewardship, renewals and smart uplifts.
Some of your responsibilities include:
- Driving the development of tailored, high-impact proposals and pitches to engage relevant companies and secure strategic, multifaceted partnerships that align with the charity’s mission.
- Work with the wider directorate including fundraising, marketing, communications and events, to identify new, innovative projects to help us achieve our income generation objectives.
- Develop and execute a business development strategy to drive revenue and market presence.
- Represent FEC at events, meetings, and networking opportunities to grow visibility and to deepen engagement.
- Oversee budget, monitor performance against goals and KPIs, and conduct contract negotiations.
- Lead and manage the corporate development and partnerships team, fostering innovation and collaboration within your team, whilst providing strategic direction and support.
- Take an active role in planning and delivering key new business events to support income generation and stakeholder engagement.
Some of the skills and experience we are looking for are:
- Experience in building strong, successful, long-term partnerships.
- Strong track record of securing multiple six / seven-figure sums from partnerships and delivering income targets.
- Strong prospect research, networking, and pipeline management skills
- Strong communication skills, including diplomacy, presentation, negotiation and influencing skills.
- Strong leadership and people management skills with a proven track record in coaching, motivating, and developing teams.
- Ability to manage the workload, outputs, and people within a team to produce high-quality outcomes in a fast-moving environment.
- Strong strategic thinking skills with the ability to develop innovative and forward-thinking strategies and translate these into operational plans.
- Considerable experience in building relationships with senior stakeholders internally and externally, particularly with government and corporate organisations.
- Significant experience in managing complex projects with internal and external stakeholders.
- Experience in managing budgets, financial reporting and analysing data to inform strategic and tactical decision making
Ideally you will also have:
- Educated to degree level or equivalent.
- Empathy with and a good understanding of Ex-Forces personnel and the challenges they can face.
- Experience in leading funding applications
- Excellent IT skills, preferably including experience of working with a CRM database (Salesforce) - Training opportunities will be available as part of your role.

Macmillan Cancer Support – Head of Corporate Partnerships
Location: Hybrid – London SE1
Salary: £80-88,000 per annum.
Contract: Full-time, 12 month fixed term contract.
Macmillan Cancer Supporter are seeking a Head of Corporate Partnerships to deliver a corporate partnerships strategy which will support them to reach their goals of reaching everyone living with cancer.
Macmillan has spent more than 100 years helping people living with cancer. From the moment someone is diagnosed with cancer, they are there with all the information, support and guidance needed, to help everyone with cancer live life as fully as they can.
The Head of Corporate Partnerships, working closely with the Director of Corporate Partnerships & Philanthropy will lead a team of circa 40 people to deliver an annual income target of £15m through a wide range of employee-led fundraising, commercial partnerships and direct programme funding. The role will be responsible for growing and deepening support from existing partners and rapidly expanding a pipeline of new business opportunities, strengthening the connection between the private sector and how Macmillan deliver change, both locally and nationally.
The post-holder will also develop a culture of innovation and collaboration at Macmillan to identify new ways that businesses can work with the charity to create impact, as well as creating a first-class programme of stewardship for corporate supporters.
The ideal candidate for this role will bring authentic, inspiring leadership that empowers teams and drives high performance. They will be confident managing large teams and complex projects/partnerships, and skilled at influencing a diverse range of successful and high-profile individuals.
A proven commercial mindset will be essential, alongside a track record of securing £1m+ strategic partnerships and delivering income in excess of £10m annually. Your approach will be insight‑driven, using data to shape strategy, improve effectiveness and unlock significant income growth. Innovation will be central to how you work – constructively challenging the status quo, developing new propositions and identifying opportunities for improvement. Confident decision‑making and sound judgement will underpin your ability to deliver ambitious results.

THE IMPACT YOU WILL HAVE
You will be a forward-looking and collaborative Head of Philanthropy and Corporate Partnerships, a vital role as we enter an exciting new phase for the charity. You’ll be joining a talented and dedicated team focused on delivering our new and exciting strategy. As the Head of Philanthropy and Corporate Partnerships you will inspire, and lead, income generation from corporate partnerships and philanthropists. Building on a step change, delivering ambitious future income growth. Working as a member of the Senior Leadership Team, you will also contribute to Missing People’s strategy and plans.
This key role will lead growing income streams currently worth a combined £1.1 million per year, plus an incredible ongoing partnership worth £1 million pa. The role’s focus will be continued growth at an even faster rate. You will lead a step-change in income that directly drives the charity’s ability to be there for people who are missing and those who love them.
You will lead and line manage established and high performing teams, creating the culture for them to deliver their very best. As a senior leader you will take a key role in department-wide development, culture, planning and delivery as well as influencing charity-wide and externally.
ABOUT YOU
If you are ready to bring your expertise in philanthropy and corporate partnerships to lead and vital fundraising at Missing People you will have:
• Significant experience leading growth (i.e. £500k increase) in income in both, or one of, philanthropy or corporate partnerships
• Experience of directly securing and managing high value support and partnerships
• Experience of successfully preparing others to also secure such support
• Experience of leading and developing high performing teams of fundraisers
• High level of experience of using Raisers Edge, or equivalent fundraising database
• Experience of developing and implementing fundraising plans, products and events
• Sound understanding of the voluntary sector as well as regulatory framework for fundraising;
• Right to work in the UK.
