As the Volunteering Development Manager you will provide day-to-day management, and work closely with partners to champion engagement with volunteering and support the development of Suffolk’s Volunteer Strategy. You will have a good level of knowledge of infrastructure support and be an experienced manager of people. You should have an awareness and understanding of the challenges facing the voluntary sector and be skilled in developing partnerships, be able to demonstrate sound financial acumen, and the ability to navigate multiple priorities.
This role will suit individuals who have a passion for the VCFSE Sector and who can champion building capacity, efficiency, and sustainability. You will be an excellent communicator at all levels and able to write and speak persuasively to a diverse range of groups. You will need to be driven, pro-active, flexible and resourceful as each role can have a busy and varied workload. You should also be confident working independently as well as having the ability to be a good team player.
The successful candidate will be a proactive individual with a can-do attitude and appetite for learning. We are looking for individuals who can communicate with a wide range of people with varying degrees of experience

Volunteering Coordinator – Maternity Cover
Location: Home-based with travel to other centres
Contract Type: Fixed-term contract – 13 Months
Hours: 25 hours per week (part-time)
Salary: £20,200 per annum, pro-rata of £28,280, Band D, Level 3
About the Role
This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in delivering and growing a national volunteering programme focused on outdoor adventure and youth development.
Working as part of a collaborative and supportive team, you’ll coordinate the recruitment, onboarding and support of volunteers across a range of programmes, including service teams, residential placements and events. You’ll help ensure every volunteer has a positive, safe and well-organised experience from first enquiry through to the end of their journey.
You’ll also support the development of service team opportunities and contribute to building alumni and ambassador pathways, helping to create a connected and engaged volunteer community.
What You’ll Be Doing as our Volunteering Coordinator:
- Coordinating volunteer recruitment, including enquiries, applications and interview scheduling
- Managing onboarding and pre-arrival administration, including compliance checks and documentation
- Supporting placement coordination across centres and acting as a key contact for volunteers
- Working closely with centre teams to plan volunteer needs and support delivery
- Supporting volunteer engagement and the development of service teams, alumni and ambassador initiatives
What We’re Looking For in our Volunteering Coordinator:
- Experience in coordination, administration, customer service or similar roles
- Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritise effectively
- Confident and clear communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to build positive relationships and handle sensitive information appropriately

The Bumblebee Conservation Trust (the Trust) is looking for a part-time (0.7 FTE) Head of Outreach.
Our vision is for a world where bumblebees are thriving and valued by everyone.
This role will:
- Lead on the development and implementation of an Outreach Strategy that inspires people and organisations, including policy makers, to take action for bumblebees. (Aim 2 of the Trust’s strategy)
- Lead on behaviour change impact reporting, ensuring data collection methods and tools are fit for purpose, and staff and volunteers have the necessary training and support to confidently report on the impact of face-to-face outreach activities.
- Lead on project development activities and work with the fundraising team to generate income to fund the sustainable growth of the Trust’s outreach activities across the UK.
You will be an excellent communicator and problem solver with experience in managing change and leading and motivating staff and volunteers. You will have a proven track record in securing grant funding and building strong partnerships with third party organisations, as well as experience in monitoring and evaluating the impact of public engagement and volunteering activities, including social and wellbeing impacts and behaviour change.

This is a part-time post for 24 hours per week. Some overtime work may be required and a flexitime system is in place.
This post will be employed on a permanent basis and can be based at the Trust’s office in Stirling, home-based, or hybrid between the Trust’s office in Stirling and home-working.
