The Role

Essential Skills and Experience:

Our EYFS compliant Early Years Provision is an essential part of our English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) service, providing Early Years education & development for children who have English as an Additional Language (EAL). The parent(s) of our Early Years children attend onsite English Language classes for the duration of the Early Years session with the majority of our families having been resettled to the UK as those with refugee status.

Our ESOL provision currently runs at two locations, in Shefford and Bedford. This role is based predominantly in Shefford and is a term-time only role (39 weeks per year paid in equal instalments over a 12 month period) with regular team training and development opportunities at our central office in Bedford.

About the role

The Early Years Session Lead holds responsibility for leading sessions in our trauma-informed Early Years setting. They supervise a small team of L2 practitioners during the sessions, with the possibility of career progression to a Room Lead role with line management responsibilities following successful completion of probation period. As an OFSTED registered Early Years setting we work to support children to learn, grow and develop in line with the EYFS framework & Development Matters guidance.

The Early Years Session Lead is part of the EY Leadership Team, which meet together online on a weekly basis (currently Weds 15:00-16:00, with flexibility to amend meeting time to accommodate flexible working requests where possible)

Church Buildings and Estates Team Leader

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Church Buildings Team Leader to lead the Church Buildings team and play a key role in supporting parishes, clergy and diocesan governance structures in the care, repair and development of the Diocese’s significant church buildings estate.

About the Role

The Diocese is responsible for around 450 church buildings, of which 181 are Grade I listed, 93 are Grade II*, and 99 are Grade II. This is a portfolio of exceptional historic, architectural and community value, presenting both exciting opportunities and complex challenges.

Reporting to the Property Director, you will lead a skilled professional team and provide high-quality advice on church buildings, churchyards, faculty processes, and (subject to experience and training) mission and pastoral reorganisation. You will act as Secretary to the Diocesan Advisory Committee (DAC), working closely with clergy, PCCs, archdeacons, external advisers and diocesan colleagues.

The role will involve travel across the Diocese, with some evening and occasional weekend working (time off in lieu provided).

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage the Church Buildings team, including performance management and budgeting
• Support and advise the Diocesan Advisory Committee for the Care of Churches
• Provide expert guidance to parishes and clergy on the care, repair and improvement of church buildings and their contents

​Brief role description:

​The CST Client Advisor will play a pivotal role in assisting clients transitioning from military to civilian life by providing tracking, referral, and job matching services.​

​Working closely with the Central Support Team (CST), the CST Client Advisor will offer advice and guidance to both clients and employers, utilising the Meganexus CRM and the CTP internet platform.

Who we are looking for: ​

​We are looking for a proactive individual with experience in advising and supporting individuals in need and empathy and understanding of the challenges ex-forces personnel face when transitioning into civilian employment.​

​You will be confident and outgoing, able to work independently, but also communicate effectively and collaborate with both internal and external stakeholders and will have strong interpersonal and influencing skills, enabling you to interact effectively with others and contribute to a diverse and dedicated team.​

​You will also need to be highly organised and proficient with IT systems, such as the Microsoft Suite and CRM platforms.

We’re looking for a Health Content Designer to join our team and create trusted, high-quality information for people affected by blood cancer.

In this role, you’ll be responsible for the creation and continuous improvement of our health information at every stage of the user journey. You’ll design content that’s data driven and responsive to user needs. You’ll work across a range of formats and channels to help us maximise our reach and engagement with the blood cancer community.

You’ll collaborate with users and clinical experts to ensure our information is accurate, relevant, evidence-based and accessible. You’ll use your content design skills to help anyone affected by blood cancer access the information they need.

If you have content design experience within the health sector and can demonstrate strong writing skills across a range of media, we’d love to hear from you.

This role requires travel to London for key in-person activities, including team, departmental and organisational away days. Additional travel may be required for meetings, workshops or collaboration.
