Context and Background
The Public Engagement team is responsible for developing and delivering the strategy that will drive significant, long-term income growth by inspiring and engaging public audiences to support the work of the NSPCC.
This is achieved through integrated, audience-led, multi-channel marketing and fundraising activity, including individual giving, mass participation and public campaigns that generate sustainable funding aligned to the NSPCC's strategic priorities.
Alongside income generation, the team plays a vital role in increasing public understanding of abuse and neglect and building advocacy for children.

The Direct Fundraising team plays a critical role in acquiring and engaging supporters through face-to-face and telephone fundraising channels, ensuring activity is supporter-centred, compliant and aligned with best practice across the fundraising sector.

Job purpose
Reporting to the Associate Head of Direct Fundraising, the Direct Fundraising Fundraiser will support the delivery, monitoring and optimisation of face-to-face and telephone fundraising activity that recruits and engages supporters across the UK.
The role will work closely with internal teams and external agency partners to ensure campaigns are delivered effectively, compliantly and in line with organisational objectives, while providing an excellent supporter experience and protecting the NSPCC's reputation.
Key responsibilities include:
- Support the planning, delivery and optimisation of face-to-face fundraising campaigns.
- Monitor campaign performance, income and expenditure, providing accurate reporting and insight to support decision making.
- Work closely with agency partners to ensure fundraising activity reflects NSPCC values, fundraising regulations and best practice.
- Support campaign compliance through activities such as mystery shopping, call listening and monitoring against agreed standards.

Campaign Delivery and Performance

This role
We are seeking a commercially minded senior leader to establish and lead a new Life Sciences Partnership Function for the South West Secure Data Environment (SWSDE). Serving more than five million people across six Integrated Care Board areas, the SWSDE enables approved researchers to securely access and analyse health and care data to support research and innovation that benefits patients and populations.
This is an opportunity to shape how the South West works with the life sciences sector to develop research, innovation and commercial partnerships. Working across the NHS, academia and industry, you will build and lead a pipeline of partnership opportunities, taking them from initial engagement through to agreed programmes that deliver clear value for partners and the health and care system.
You will play a key role in developing the frameworks, commercial models and ways of working needed to support effective collaboration between the NHS, academia and industry, while maintaining high standards of privacy, security, ethics and public trust.
As Secure Data Environments continue to evolve across the UK, you will help define how organisations work with life sciences partners to use health data safely and responsibly to support research and innovation.

· The Senior Life Sciences Partnership Lead will lead the development and delivery of the Life Sciences Partnership Function for the SWSDE. The postholder will originate, develop and convert high impact partnerships between the SWSDE, NHS organisations and the life science sector that utilise the functionality and capability of the SWSDE safely, ethically and efficiently to deliver benefit for partners and the population of the South West region.
· The role will act as a key interface between the SWSDE and external partners, ensuring opportunities for partnership working between the SWSDE and the life science sector are translated into deliverable, governance-ready programmes that create measurable research, innovation and economic benefits. About the team
The Philanthropy Team raises income for Impetus and for Impetus partner charities. The team consists of 15 staff. Impetus has an annual income of c.£11 million which we are looking to grow significantly within the next few years. The team is led by two Directors of Philanthropy and Partnerships.
The Philanthropy Team works with major donors, corporates and grant making trusts, as well as collaboratively with colleagues across the organisation to ensure we make a compelling case to generate new financial commitments and wider support for our work. The team also deliver a high-quality engagement programme of volunteering and pro bono for Impetus’s corporate supporters.

Alongside investing extensive financial and non-financial support in our charity partners through our Investment Team we also seek to influence decision makers to design and implement evidence led policy and direct new resources to get young people the support they need through our Public Affairs team. About this role
The Development Director (New Business) provides strategic leadership for Impetus’ new business development, prospect pipeline and high-value funding opportunities. The postholder will have responsibility for identifying, cultivating and converting new corporate, trust and foundation, and high-net-worth donor relationships, as well as continued relationship management for key, established relationships.
In 25/26, the Philanthropy and Partnerships team generated £11m in philanthropic income, alongside £2.8m in probono contributions. The Development Director will play a key role in delivering Impetus' growth ambitions, helping to increase philanthropic income to £14m by 2029.
Working closely with the Director of Philanthropy and Partnerships, the role will translate the fundraising strategy into clear new business priorities, pipeline plans and prospect engagement approaches, ensuring a strong flow of qualified opportunities and sustainable growth in high-value income.
Working closely with colleagues across Philanthropy and Partnerships, the postholder will personally lead and support significant six and seven-figure prospects and strategic funding opportunities, while overseeing the stewardship and retention of current partners.
Working collaboratively across the Philanthropy and Partnerships team and with colleagues across the organisation, the Development Director will ensure a joined-up approach to donor acquisition, pipeline development, prospect conversion and stewardship, maximising income, partnership value and long-term impact within the agreed fundraising strategy.
Key responsibilities
New Business, Pipeline & Conversion
- Personally lead on six and seven-figure level priority prospects and strategic funding opportunities, managing the full fundraising cycle from qualification to close.

As an Officer in ImpactEd Evaluation you will project manage evaluation partnerships with schools, trusts and education organisations, from Theory of Change and evaluation design through data collection and analysis to reporting, with the support of a project sponsor. About the role…
We are seeking an expert and experienced Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) Manager to join our ambitious finance team during an exciting period of financial transformation across a £25m trade union and two associated charities. As part of our new finance strategy, we are embedding long term planning and modelling across the organisation during a time of significant change. We are designing and rolling out sophisticated reporting and analysis, working directly with the Leadership Team on high profile finance transformation projects. With a new finance system in place and more systems development in progress we need you to maximise these products to improve our financial analysis, long-term modelling and planning and build financial confidence and literacy at all levels.
As the FP&A Manager, you will lead on business partnering across the organisation and our two associated charities. You will lead on budgeting, forecasting and business modelling, to support the organisation to maximise strategic impact and minimise risk.
With excellent modelling, people management and communication skills, you will lead all organisational financial reporting and presentations, improve and roll out new analysis and dashboards and lead long term planning projects, whilst continually reviewing the wider business environment to identify any potential opportunities and threats.

Main purpose of role:
The Director of Operations is an important, senior role at the Art School, responsible for supporting the Principal in the delivery of the Strategic Vision and to monitor the progress of its objectives. They are responsible for the efficient and effective management of internal resources and stakeholders, and will act as the deputy to the Principal in all matters excluding academic. They will also contribute to the oversight of recruitment of students and staff.
The Director of Operations provides vision and professional leadership of registry, professional services, IT, admissions, as well as the management of compliance, HR, and the Art School’s technical tutors. They have some oversight of marketing inasfar as it relates to recruitment. The Director of Operations is the key liaison with the Property Trust, which is the official landlord for the Art School and the governing body that oversees the main buildings at our site in Kennington. They are the lead person, responsible for the OfS return and so it is anticipated that the successful candidate would have a level of quality assurance experience and familiarity with policy oversight.
The Art School is an independent educational charity with approximately 300 students and 100 members of staff. The Art School is entering a new strategic planning cycle that will see us growing our profile and portfolio; expanding our international links and external partnerships; and, deepening our civic impact on our neighborhood in Kennington and further afield.
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The main duties and responsibilities of the post are:
Leadership and Strategy
- Supporting the Principal in the delivery of the Strategic Vision for the Art School

About the team
The Philanthropy Team raises income for Impetus and for Impetus partner charities. The team consists of 15 staff. Impetus has an annual income of c.£11 million which we are looking to grow significantly within the next few years. The team is led by two Directors of Philanthropy and Partnerships.
The Philanthropy Team works with major donors, corporates and grant making trusts, as well as collaboratively with colleagues across the organisation to ensure we make a compelling case to generate new financial commitments and wider support for our work. The team also deliver a high-quality engagement programme of volunteering and pro bono for Impetus’s corporate supporters.
Impetus is driven by a shared belief in tackling the barriers that hold back young people from disadvantaged backgrounds in education and employment. Alongside investing extensive financial and non-financial support in our charity partners through our Investment Team we also seek to influence decision makers to design and implement evidence led policy and direct new resources to get young people the support they need through our Public Affairs team. About this role
The Development Director (Philanthropy) provides strategic leadership across Impetus’ philanthropy and stewardship portfolio, with responsibility for relationship management, renewal, growth and selected new business activity. The postholder will work with high-value funders, including corporate partners, trusts and foundations, and high-net-worth individuals.
In 25/26, the Philanthropy and Partnerships team generated £11m in philanthropic income, alongside £2.8m in pro bono contributions. The Development Director will play a key role in delivering Impetus’ growth ambitions, supporting the increase in philanthropic income to £14m by 2029.
Working closely with the Directors of Philanthropy and Partnerships, the role will translate the fundraising strategy into clear stewardship, renewal, relationship-growth and selected new business plans, ensuring strong donor retention, high-quality engagement and sustainable growth in high-value income.
Working closely with the Director of Philanthropy and Partnerships, the postholder will oversee the donor lifecycle across the philanthropy portfolio, with particular focus on strategic stewardship, renewal, relationship growth and the effective transition of selected prospects into long-term donor relationships. They will personally lead and support significant six and seven-figure donor relationships and selected funding opportunities, while working with colleagues to ensure the philanthropy pipeline, stewardship plans and account management disciplines are strong.
Working collaboratively across the Philanthropy and Partnerships team and with colleagues across the organisation, the Development Director will ensure a joined-up approach to donor stewardship, renewal, relationship growth and selected donor acquisition, maximising income, partnership value and long-term impact within the agreed fundraising strategy.
Key responsibilities
Strategic Relationship Management & Growth
- Own and oversee strategically significant donor and partner relationships at six and seven-figure levels, ensuring high levels of retention, satisfaction, trust, income growth and long-term value.

About School of Hard Knocks
School of Hard Knocks (SOHK) is one of the UK’s leading education charities, working in 29 secondary schools across England, Scotland, and Wales. Using rugby as a key delivery tool, we support young people who are struggling to engage in early secondary education - often because of anxiety, low confidence, disrupted home lives, or behavioural challenges rooted in trauma. For many of the children we support, life has already brought more hardship than most adults experience in a lifetime. · Direct and support Improving Rivers Managers to deliver a coherent programme of work across river restoration, evidence, and catchment partnerships.
· Enable cross‑team collaboration (with the Engagement & Learning Team and others) to maximise multiple benefits for people and nature.
· Ensure robust project governance, risk management and reporting. Oversee Health & Safety and CDM compliance and safe systems of work.
· Act as one of the Duty Senior Managers in the weekend cover rota
· Establish and maintain portfolio measurement indices and ensure timely data entry into Thames21 platforms.
3) People leadership & culture
· Lead, motivate and develop Improving Rivers Managers; set clear objectives, undertake regular 1:1s, appraisals and PDPs.
· Foster an inclusive, collaborative and high‑performance culture. Ensure staff wellbeing and professional development.
· Plan and chair IR team and managers’ meetings. Maintain effective internal communications and knowledge‑sharing (e.g., SharePoint).
4) Finance, funding & organisational development
· Hold delegated authority for budget setting and expenditure sign‑off within the portfolio. Ensure accurate financial planning, management and reporting.
· Support development of high‑quality bids and funding agreements (statutory, partnership and philanthropic), including large strategic bids and environmental market opportunities by providing technical expertise, programme design and partner engagement.
· Work with Finance and Fundraising to strengthen controls, update relevant policies/processes, and ensure audit‑ready documentation.
· Contribute to whole‑organisation systems, policies and processes that support effective delivery and financial resilience.
6) External relations & advocacy
· Represent Thames21 with senior stakeholders (e.g., Environment Agency, water companies, GLA/mayoral teams, local authorities, eNGOs, funders, corporate partners and the Rivers Trust).
· Build and steward strategic partnerships and alliances that enable delivery at scale and unlock new funding and policy influence.
· Act as a confident spokesperson for Thames21 when required.
7) Reporting, governance & data
· Ensure timely and accurate portfolio reporting for SMT and Board, including dashboards/infographics and risk register updates.
· Promote effective use of organisational systems and data within the team to improve efficiency and data quality.
Key performance indicators (portfolio‑level)
· Water quality - monitoring & investigation: improved evidence base and prioritisation of pollution sources for resolution.
· Improving water quality - implementation of evidence‑based actions at catchment scale.
· Flows - natural flood management outcomes and strengthened drought/low‑flow resilience.
· River/wetland enhancement, restoration & connectivity - ecological condition and connectivity improved.
· Catchment‑based approach - strengthened hosting and partnership effectiveness.

The postholder will be responsible for identifying, writing, and submitting compelling, well-researched and tailored funding applications to relevant grant-giving bodies.
The post holder will work closely with the LDHAS management team to gather information, write bids, and track progress of submissions, ensuring LDHAS meets income targets as agreed by the Trustees.
The postholder will:
- Proactively research, navigate the system and identify suitable grant and funding opportunities from charitable trusts, foundations, and statutory bodies.
- Write and submit high-quality funding applications and proposals in line with LDHAS's strategic priorities working closely with the Manager and in their collaboration with key partners.
- Work collaboratively with the LDHAS Manager and colleagues to gather accurate, up-to-date data and service information for applications.
- Tailor applications to funder requirements and priorities, ensuring persuasive storytelling and alignment with LDHAS 's mission.
- Research and identify opportunities to raise money via businesses including payroll giving and sponsoring fundraising events.
- Research and identify opportunities to encourage supporters to consider leaving a gift to LDHAS in their wills.
- Manage a pipeline of applications and submissions, ensuring deadlines are met and income targets are tracked.
Communication and Relationships
- Have communication skills and a communication style which ensures that written bids are compelling, clear, and rooted in evidence.
- Ability to turn service data and case studies into powerful narratives that align with funder priorities.
- Act as an ambassador for vulnerable people.
