The role
You’ll provide excellent employment legal advice, and support the Head of Employment in supervising our two senior legal advisers. About the Role
As an Independent Domestic Violence Advocate you will provide high quality support to older people who have been subjected to domestic violence and abuse. You will deliver and provide support in five key areas to support victims to:
- Feel safer
- Feel informed about their rights and the criminal justice system
- Feel listened to and heard
- Be able to implement healthy coping mechanisms
- Be connected with services who are available to help them
Key Responsibilities:
- provide appropriate non-therapeutic support to older people who have been subjected to domestic abuse via their preferred contact method
- carry out out needs and risk assessments to develop tailored individual safety and support plans to address the specific needs of the victim
- use a bespoke case management system to maintain accurate and confidential record keeping and contribute to the collection of outcomes
- liaise with the police, social services, CPS, and other agencies on the client's behalf, with the client's consent maintaining confidentiality
- provide information to victims to enable them to make informed choices about their future options. Ensuring that the voices, needs, rights and legal entitlements of older people are heard and understood by all individuals and organisations.
About You:
Ideally, you will hold an approved and accredited OPVA qualification (or you must be willing to work towards one)
You will need:
- A strong understanding of domestic abuse and violence and the impact this has specifically on older people.
- Experience of working with older people including completing risk assessments and safety planning
- Experience of managing a caseload and keeping clear case management records.
- Experience of adapting communication styles to be able to effectively communicate with older people
- An understanding of trauma informed practice and how to implement this within your work
- A through understanding of the criminal justice system and the Victim's Code
- An understanding of confidentiality, safeguarding and other legal requirements
- Excellent IT skills including experience with working within bespoke case management systems and using Microsoft Office Packages.
- Organised and methodical approach to work with the ability to plan, prioritise and organise workload

We are seeking an authentic advocate for children’s rights to help drive our influence with government and other stakeholders. What we are looking for:
Job Title: Philanthropy Lead
We’re looking for a confident, experienced fundraiser to lead major-gift fundraising — securing transformational gifts from high-net-worth individuals. This individual will also assist with building wealth-adviser relationships that generate referral leads. You’ll own the full pipeline: prospecting, cultivation, making direct asks, closing and stewardship.
The ideal candidate will be excited to cultivate networks of wealth managers, private-client teams and other advisers to HNWIs, and to convert adviser introductions into committed support. Importantly, you’ll also prospect independently for major gifts outside those referral streams.
To succeed you’ll master three distinct fundraising pitches: a business case for advisers; an impact case to persuade donors to support our portfolio charities; and a systems-change case to win backing for GRP’s operating costs (salaries, office costs, etc) to keep the charity running fee-free.
You’ll be comfortable making direct asks for funding, with evidence of having closed high-value gifts or multi-year commitments. You’ll be willing to roll up your sleeves and get hands-on with everyday cultivation tasks. You’ll thrive in a small team, taking initiative and juggling priorities. Crucially, you’ll care deeply about climate and nature.
Experience required:
Substantial experience in frontline major gifts fundraising (as a guide, likely 5+ years), or an exceptional track record in adjacent fields (private client advisory, philanthropy advisory, etc).

About the role:
This role is home based in West Cumberland with regular travel to meet clients & colleagues as well as attending meetings & court hearings.
As an Independent Sexual Violence Advisor (ISVA) you will be: -
- providing a high quality, pro-active service to victims of sexual violence and abuse (including children and young people), supporting those at highest risk and need.
- working within a multi-agency framework consisting of the Bridgeway SARC and other local partnership responses to sexual violence.
- working with survivors and other agencies to monitor the care pathway, including risk assessment, helping clients access their rights and supporting with any other services they require.
You will need: -
More than anything the right attitude and a willingness to learn are key to becoming an ISVA. Experience of working with victims of sexual violence and other service providers and agencies in a statutory, voluntary, social or community setting would be an advantage although we would be keen to hear from you if you can demonstrate how your skills and experience can be applied to this role.
You must have extensive experience of planning and delivering caseloads, with strong crisis management skills and an understanding of the needs of victims experiencing sexual violence. An approved and accredited ISVA qualification is preferable for this post although candidates with the right approach and a willingness work towards ISVA accreditation will also be considered.
To be successful in this role you should have good IT skills, knowledge of criminal justice issues and an understanding of the effects a court appearance can have on victims and witnesses of crime are also essential.

The Role

- Conduct client interviews and gather evidence to support applications
- Deliver advice sessions at our office and in community locations, and provide telephone assistance

- Keep up to date with immigration legislation, policy and practice
- Contribute to monitoring, advocacy and campaigning work

About You
