At Pilgrims Hospices, clinical volunteers are a vital part of how we care for patients and families. Working alongside our clinical teams, they support everything from ward-based care to therapy services, bereavement groups and community programmes. Their time, compassion and presence help shape the experience of care in very real and meaningful ways.

We are now looking for a Clinical Volunteer Lead to provide leadership to this work across our services.

This is a unique opportunity to lead a large and diverse group of clinical volunteers, working across inpatient, therapy, psychosocial and community settings. You will ensure volunteers are well supported, appropriately trained and able to make a meaningful contribution, while working closely with clinical teams to maintain a consistent and effective approach across the organisation.

This is not a desk-based role. It is a visible, hands-on leadership position, working alongside teams and volunteers in practice, building relationships, supporting people day to day and understanding what is happening across services.

We are looking for someone who brings clinical credibility and strong relational leadership skills, and who is confident working across teams, supporting others and leading through presence, judgement and practical involvement.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Coordinate annual calendar of volunteer training events

· Work in partnership with the Volunteer Development Manager to understand volunteer recruitment needs across services and the wider team.

· Liaise with services teams to plan and develop the calendar of volunteer training events, both in person and virtual.

· Manage relationships with training venues ensuring desired dates are secured early in line with event requirements and budgets.

· Proactively research new training venues which meet accessibility requirements.

· Work with team members taking a lead on volunteer training delivery to ensure all training materials are up to date and relevant training packs/goodie boxes are distributed to trainees.

· Liaise with trainees to ensure confirmation paperwork is completed in a timely manner and needs relevant to training are met.

· Keep accurate records and maintain database records to ensure services teams are kept up to date with trainee information and any changes to event attendance.

· Circulate post-training communications to help ensure new volunteers are onboarded in a timely manner.

· Collect and distribute feedback from trainees to ensure quality of delivery is maintained to a high standard.

· Lead, sustain and develop strong and effective working relationships across the Back Up team.

Manage volunteer applications and requests

· Work with Volunteer Development Manager to ensure application process is kept up to date and is easily accessible to prospective volunteers.

· Liaise with potential volunteers, following up on expressions of interest, providing triage, answering queries and providing information relating to roles which may be relevant and of interest to encourage applications.

· Maintain database records ensuring swift distribution of applications to services team

· Support the Volunteer Development Manager to identify areas of potential efficiency and improvement in working practices in the recruitment, training and onboarding processes.

· Work across the wider team to understand and support volunteer requests, proactively approaching active volunteers with projects and opportunities for them to get involved.

· Coordinate volunteer request opportunities with volunteers and volunteer managers to ensure requests are fulfilled to raise awareness of Back Up’s services.

Other duties and responsibilities

· Maintaining accurate records on the database, adhering to all relevant policies and procedures.

· Be a ‘Data Champion’, leading by example on the importance of good data practice and hygiene, and using the system to its best efficiency.

· Raise awareness of volunteer opportunities via external websites e.g. GoVo, NHS Volunteering.

· Work as a team, consulting with others to ensure you give and receive high quality support.

· Other duties as required by the Volunteer Development Manager.

PERSON SPECIFICATION

Essential:

· Excellent planning skills and disciplines with demonstrated experience in the management and coordination of tasks and events.

Events Fundraising Officer (Maternity cover)

About the role

Reporting in to the National Events Manager, the Events Fundraising Officer will recruit and engage supporters, building trust and collaboration to strengthen Christian Aid’s event and DIY fundraising activity and maximise participation in challenge events. Supporting the planning and delivery of impactful fundraising and stewardship initiatives, while working flexibly to contribute to wider team priorities and key fundraising moments.

The post-holder will develop meaningful communications with Christian Aid’s supporters, churches, and volunteers to maximise engagement and create consistent, high-quality experiences.

Some of the main areas of responsibility for the Events Fundraising Officer include:

• Manage and develop the challenge events portfolio, including key events such as the London Marathon and Great North Run, ensuring delivery within agreed timelines and budgets and effective collaboration with stakeholders.
• Support the National Events Manager in planning and delivering Christian Aid’s owned event portfolio, contributing to successful delivery against agreed timelines and budgets.
• Develop and deliver tailored plans for event volunteer recruitment, recognition, and retention, fostering meaningful engagement and a positive volunteer experience.
• Take lead in growing DIY church fundraising, contributing to the acquisition of new supporters, deeper engagement with churches, and increased impact.
• Respond to enquiries relating to challenge events, DIY fundraising, and event volunteering, providing clear, timely, and solution-focused advice to stakeholders.
• Contribute to the growth of Christian Aid’s movement-building presence within church communities, supporting stronger connections and increased supporter engagement.
• Work in a collaborative, adaptable, and solutions-focused way, with a commitment to continuous improvement, high-quality delivery, and the flexibility to respond to evolving team priorities.

About the role

As an Events Fundraiser you will be responsible for the end-to-end management of third-party challenge events, delivering marketing plans to boost participation and creating first-class stewardship journeys. You’ll be data driven, using insights and sector trends to inform improvements and highlight opportunities to grow our challenge events portfolio.

You will attend key events as required to support with on-the-day logistics and volunteer management. Please note, due to the nature of our work you will be required to attend some events and meetings which can be during weekends, early mornings or evenings.

Please note - this is a hybrid role involving 3 days in Shooting Star House and 2 days working from home.

With fundraising and events experience, you will be a motivated and organised individual who communicates confidently across a range of channels both internally and with external stakeholders.

You’ll be skilled in building strong relationships and creating excellent fundraiser experiences. When working under pressure, you’ll remain calm and focused to deliver results in a positive and solution-focused manner.

Challenge Events and Community Fundraising Manager

The role

We’re seeking an Events Manager (Third-Party Events) to join our join our dynamic and high-achieving Events team to cover maternity leave!  We are looking for someone who can join us in mid-August 2026 for a 13-month Fixed-Term contract.

In this role, you’ll manage a team of four to deliver our third-party portfolio challenge events, including leading the London Marathon Double and Great North Run, London Landmarks Half Marathon and Hackney Half. 

You’ll lead the team to deliver and optimise omni-channel stewardship journeys, shape effective marketing strategies and maximise opportunities to boost engagement, recruitment and retention.

About the role

As our Special Events Manager – Volunteering you will lead volunteer management across all of WaterAid’s festival and special events activity and manage teams of staff and volunteers onsite at some of the UKs biggest and most loved public events.

In this role, you will:

• Recruit, train and manage over 700 volunteers across festivals
• Develop and deliver volunteer training, safeguarding and wellbeing processes.
• Support the special events team with operational plans, including volunteer schedules, logistics and volunteer welfare.
• Lead teams onsite at festival events as required including Glastonbury festival, and other WaterAid events.
• Champion WaterAid’s commitment to equity, inclusion and safeguarding.

Requirements

To be successful, you will need:

• Proven experience of recruiting, developing, motivating, and managing large teams of volunteers at mass public events.
• Excellent knowledge and experience of safeguarding and welfare practices for volunteers and experience in delivering these in a live events environment.
• Proven experience of leading, managing and supporting volunteers and staff.
• Ability to manage cross-team projects and establish excellent stakeholder relationships at peer and senior levels to deliver against shared objectives.

We're looking for two Events & Marketing Assistants to join our small, busy team at Portsmouth Cathedral. It's a varied, practical role that sits right at the heart of our commercial operations - coordinating venue hire bookings, setting up for evening concerts, supporting licensed events, and everything in between. Alongside this supporting the marketing for our events and the wider organisation as a whole.

No two weeks look quite the same, and roughly half the role takes place during evenings and weekends. The pattern of hours will vary week to week in line with the Cathedral's events programme. In weeks where no events are scheduled, the postholders will work standard office hours.  There are two posts available with a proposal to work three days each of 21 hours.

Portsmouth Cathedral has been at the heart of Old Portsmouth since 1180, and it remains one of the city's most distinctive and active spaces - a working place of worship, a heritage venue, and a hub for concerts, community events, and private hire all at once. The Events Co-ordinator has a pivotal role in coordinating and executing various events and initiatives to support the Charity’s objectives. This position demands meticulous planning, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to manage event logistics effectively.They will work as part of the Events Logistics Team, supporting the senior members of the team, and work with and manage a number of both internal and external stakeholders. 

The Events Co-ordinator will work closely with the Head of Events and colleagues across the team to support the delivery of both the Events Logistics and wider Fundraising Team strategic plan, including: 

• Event Planning: Collaborate with relevant stakeholders to plan, organize, and execute a diverse and often complex range of events including Sponsored Walks and Challenge events such as Abseils, Charity Galas, Stewardship/Cultivation events and a range of charity engagement events.

• Events Logistics Management: Coordinate all logistical aspects of events (venue booking, supplier co-ordination, transportation, accommodation, catering, equipment, and staffing requirements); and liaising and negotiating with external stakeholders to ensure our charitable ROI target is achieved. Possess specialist knowledge regarding events policies and procedures including complex event planning, risk assessing and mitigation/emergency planning contracts, manage deliveries, and ensure timely and cost-effective services for events.This includes ensuring compliance with legal, health, and safety obligations, including acquiring necessary permits and licenses for events. 

• Budget Oversight: To ensure events are delivered in line with specific delegated expenditure budget, and achieve the key objectives established at outset.Develops, manages and tracks delegated budget for own events with input into the overall budget across the year, to assist the Head of Events with budget planning, cost estimation, ensuring events are executed within the allocated financial parameters.

• Volunteer Management: Recruit, train, and supervise volunteers, ensuring their roles and responsibilities are clear and well-coordinated during events. 

• Event Evaluation: Supports, facilitates and monitors progress of each event and initiates and supports performance improvement.Conduct post-event evaluations to assess the success of each event, collect feedback, and implement improvements for future initiatives. 

• Stakeholder Management & Communication: Collaborates with the marketing and communication team to create promotional materials, advertising campaigns, and social media content to maximize event attendance and support; and the wider income generation teams to create event working groups with shared responsibilities to deliver successful outcomes.Additional stakeholders that would be communicated with on a regular basis include; charity supporters, event attendees, Trust Staff, Charity Board Member and general members of the public.

You will be a crucial part of a dynamic team, working closely with our Senior Planning and Supporter Income Manager within the fundraising team. You will be a first point of contact for mass participation fundraising enquiries, build meaningful and lasting relationships and actively seek fundraising opportunities. 

Our ideal candidate will have experience in relationship building with some fundraising, volunteering or events experience. You will have excellent communication and organisational skills, the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and be dedicated to improving people’s lives.

Job Description

The post holder will be the first point of contact and lead for third party mass participation activities and work within the fundraising team on other events as needed to assist in the delivery of our events programme. The broad responsibilities will be:

• Plan and oversee our growing third-party mass participation programme, alongside the Senior Manager
• Own the stewardship plans for everyone joining Team Doddie in one of these events, to make sure they love every minute of their challenge

Key Responsibilities

Supporter-facing

• Providing outstanding supporter care as the key contact for fundraising event enquiries at the Foundation.

• Attending events to represent My Name’5 Doddie Foundation when appropriate.

Operational

• Manage and maintain all mass participation registration platforms.
• Working with the Senior Planning and Supporter Income Manager to organise and deliver our presence at various non-mass participation events e.g. Melrose 7s
• Help with the creation of marketing plans for our events programme. 
• Work with the Fundraising Administrator to create and send fundraising packs in a timely manner. 
• Maintaining the Foundation’s supporter database and keeping their details up to date.
• Maintaining the fundraising calendar of activities and tasks.
• Create detailed event plans and conduct risk assessments. 
• Set up and de-rig event equipment.

Supporter and Internal Comms 

• Work with Communications team to co-ordinate regular social media activity and PR stories.
• Actively seek new third-party event opportunities for the Foundation. 
• Work with our third-party suppliers and maintain good relationships with them. 
• Ensure the CRM system is updated to maximise learning and supporter experience.

The Pepper Foundation is a local charity funding children’s hospice care at home, specialised play and family days for children living with life-limiting and life-threatening conditions in Hertfordshire and Buckinghamshire. The Community Fundraiser will be joining Pepper at an exciting time as we launch our new three-year fundraising strategy. Backed by committed investment and with full Board approval, we are delighted to be growing the charity to deliver sustainable income that directly supports local children and families with hospice care in the comfort of their own homes. 

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced relationship-builder to lead and grow community fundraising and challenge events activity, helping to raise vital income for The Pepper Foundation.

You will take ownership of a varied portfolio of community fundraising activity, building and developing relationships with volunteers, schools, clubs, local businesses and community groups, while also nurturing existing supporters and creating an excellent experience for everyone who engages with us. Financial

• Deliver or exceed agreed income targets across community and challenge event  fundraising activities.
• Manage agreed budgets for community fundraising activities and challenge events, monitoring income and expenditure and ensuring activity is delivered in line with agreed targets and plans.

• Manage the day-to-day planning and delivery of key events and campaigns, making decisions within agreed plans, budgets and fundraising procedures.

• Respond appropriately to unexpected incidents at community fundraising events, following agreed procedures and escalating where needed.
