Manager, Home-Start Guildford

About the role

As Manager, you will provide overall leadership and direction for Home-Start Guildford, ensuring our services remain high-quality, safe and impactful for local families. The Role
- This is a brand new role to lead and develop a great team of three regional community fundraisers.You will:

About the Role

As Fundraising and Relationship Manager, you’ll work within an ambitious team, securing sustainable income to ensure that the Youth Zone can deliver high-quality, safe and inclusive services for young people. This is a dynamic and rewarding role at the heart of the Fundraising and Communications team, helping to generate the income needed each year to keep the Youth Zone sustainable.

From working with High Net Worth Individual and organisations on the Founder Patron campaign, to working on Corporate Partnerships, individual giving campaigns, major gifts and high value supporters to supporting and growing community-led fundraising, planning and delivering events, campaigns and appeals.

About You

You’ll bring excellent administrative skills to the role. The team work with a CRM system and require accurate preparation of proposals, gift agreements, and reports. Attention to detail and strong organisational abilities are essential. Most importantly, you have a genuine passion for our local area and for improving the quality of life of our members.

You will have experience of:

• Income generation through personally securing major donor gifts from high net worth individual (HNWIs) and/or corporates, to lower level community and corporate gifts with an impressive track record in securing significant funds and meeting challenging financial targets, including both new business and account management.
• Developing a new pipeline of HNWIs and/or corporate prospects and being pro-active in converting these to active donors.
• Supporting community-led fundraising and events, campaigns and appeals.
• Managing a fundraising pipeline or prospect list, from initial research through to proposal, sign up and stewardship, using a CRM system, such as Salesforce to track progress and outcomes.
• Producing high-quality donor reports, meeting deadlines and exceeding expectations through clear narrative, data and case studies.

Our client, a leading UK Funder is looking for talented and ambitious Interim Grants Manager to join the Foundation's small, high performance team that supports 1.000s of charities across the UK each year. This role is offered on a 6 month fixed term contract which could be open to extension. Primarily office based but there could be a little flexibility to work from home once bedded into the role.

UK Maths Trust is a charity that exists to advance the education of children and young people in mathematics. We do this by working with hundreds of volunteers across the UK to organise Competitions and Challenges that promote problem solving and teamwork.

As the Mathematical Programmes Administrator, you will work closely with Programme Coordinators to support the delivery of the UKMT’s competitions and activities. You will collaborate with teams across the charity, providing additional support as required during periods of high workload.

Main duties:

• To work with the Director of Mathematical Programmes and the wider Mathematical Programmes team to assist with the smooth operations of our activities. This may include:

  • Helping with the administration and distribution of Competitions, including the Team Maths Challenges.

  • Assisting with the organisation of both international and domestic mathematics training camps and Olympiad competitions.

  • Supporting the administration of the annual Summer School and Mentoring Programmes.

• To provide excellent customer service to external customers and to UKMT volunteers as required. This includes managing emails, correspondence, and routine enquiries where necessary.

• To use a variety of computer systems to facilitate tasks and analyse data including, but not limited to Competition Systems, Google Workspace, Overleaf, Canva and Mailchimp.

• To tracking tasks, deadlines, and workflows to ensure smooth delivery of our activities, in line with our organisational policies and agreements with sponsors.

About the role

We’re looking for a Statutory Fundraising Manager to lead and grow our statutory income at a pivotal time for Sense. Statutory fundraising is a key growth area, and this role will shape our approach to securing funding from government bodies, lottery funders and public sector partners.

Working closely with the Head of High Value Relationships, the CEO, and senior colleagues across operations and finance, you’ll develop and deliver a clear statutory fundraising strategy. You’ll collaborate with teams across the organisation to design compelling programmes, secure significant funding, and ensure excellent stewardship of our funders.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced statutory fundraiser who wants to see their work directly enable high-quality, person-centred services for disabled people with complex needs.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and deliver a statutory fundraising strategy to maximise income from government, NHS, lottery and public sector funders.
• Identify and secure new funding opportunities, including six-figure (and ideally seven-figure) grants.
• Lead the development of high-quality funding bids, working with senior leaders and operational teams to shape strong programme proposals.
• Manage relationships with statutory funders, acting as the main point of contact and overseeing all narrative and financial reporting.
• Take responsibility for statutory income and expenditure budgets, ensuring accurate financial and programme reporting.
• Stay up to date with sector developments to identify emerging opportunities aligned with Sense’s strategy.
• Develop and contribute to partnership and consortia bids with external organisations, academic institutions and service providers.
• Work collaboratively across Fundraising and Marketing and the wider organisation to support shared goals and learning.

About you

You’ll be an experienced statutory fundraiser with a strong track record of securing significant funding and managing funder relationships. You’ll be confident working with senior stakeholders, comfortable with financial and impact reporting, and motivated by the opportunity to make a meaningful difference.

You’ll bring:

• Proven success securing income from statutory and lottery funders, including six-figure grants (seven-figure desirable).
• Experience developing funding proposals aligned to organisational strategy, including monitoring and evaluation frameworks.
• Strong experience managing relationships with government and public sector funders.
• Confidence in budget setting, financial reporting and income/expenditure management.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including bid and report writing.
• Strong planning, organisational and stakeholder-management skills.
• A collaborative approach and the confidence to influence senior colleagues.

Desirable experience includes:

• Working with consortia or acting as a lead grant holder.
• Knowledge of tendering, contracting or unit-pricing models.
