We are seeking an outstanding leader to manage and drive the performance of our award winning visitor attraction and wetland nature reserve in Slimbridge, Gloucestershire. Slimbridge is where wetland conservation began some 80 years ago with the founding of WWT – the wetland charity.

About The Role

This is a genuine opportunity to shape this amazing attraction, not just run it. Reporting into WWT’s central operations leadership, you will take full responsibility for the day to day operations leading a dedicated team of more than 60 staff and 250 volunteers to deliver our ambitious financial, visitor engagement and conservation objectives for the centre. The role has responsibility for all aspects of the site - working closely with the centre’s senior leadership team you will deliver excellence across the areas of trading and admissions, visitor experience and engagement, learning and marketing, living collections and the wetland reserve - a Ramsar wetland site, Special Protection Area (SPA) and Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) on account of its internationally important wetlands. WWT's charity headquarters are also based at the Slimbridge site, and you will work closely with the team, jointly contributing to the delivery of WWT’s Wetlands are the way 2030 strategy.

About You

To be a success in this role you must be an experienced and professional manager and a great leader, comfortable with both operational delivery, visible on the floor leadership and the ability to input strategically at the highest level. You should be strong on financial and business numeracy, comfortable owning the P&L and able to deliver against ambitious and motivating targets while maintaining day-to-day performance.

You will be confident working with suppliers, maintaining accurate stock and procurement records and coordinating activities across different teams. Experience handling medical supplies, pharmaceutical products or equipment would be particularly valuable.

The role requires approximately 15% international travel and deployment—normally around six to eight weeks per year. During deployments, you may support procurement, warehouse and stock management, international shipping, distribution and emergency resupply, working closely with clinical, logistics and programme colleagues.

The Supporter Care Manager manages and leads the Supporter Services function to provide an exceptional service to our supporters, from initial contact through the whole of their supporter journey, including thanking, welcome and upgrade calls to exemplary complaint handling. Communication and networking

Rossendale Refugee Support Group is a small, community-based charity committed to supporting refugees and people seeking asylum to rebuild their lives in safety . We provide practical advice, advocacy, support and opportunities for social contact to individuals and families living in Rossendale.  We currently have a single employee who leads service delivery, and over 20 highly committed volunteers.

We provide two weekly Drop-in sessions for clients, one at Haslingden Link on Wednesdaymornings (offering casework and social opportunities) and one at Bacup Maden Centre on Tuesday mornings (offering casework only).

We are a small charity entering a significant stage in our development. Having established a strong reputation locally we have recently secured a Local Authority contract for delivering refugee advice services.  We are now seeking a Director who can lead the charity at a time of transformation, capitalising on our increased financial security to improve our offer, develop strategic direction, and establish the charity on a more sustainable footing.  There is more information on our website.

Key Responsibilities

· Strategic Leadership.  Work with Trustees to develop and implement future direction of the organisation.

· Partnership development. Represent RRSG and build partnerships with funders, community organisations, national bodies, and other stakeholders.

· Fundraising. Lead the development and delivery of the organisation's fundraising strategy, identifying funding sources, preparing high-quality funding applications and reports, diversifying and strengthening income streams.

Role Expectations

We are looking for experienced managers who are confident in managing and developing others, managing performance and adept at managing a varied workload from across our funding lifecycle to new funding investments and partnerships.

You will first and foremost be a people manager, with the skills and experience of navigating operational delivery from budgets, resourcing and risk, for example, to ensuring quality delivery of our work and supporting a culture that enables people to thrive.

As Centre Fundraising Manager you will develop and implement a centre specific fundraising plan to raise income from the community through a variety of fundraising sources.  

You will be responsible for effectively and autonomously managing the full portfolio of activity relating to the centre and to manage complex networks and relationships which have a wider national focus.

The Candidate:
Solid experience as an Office Manager, Executive Assistant working with senior management
A proven ability to work in direct support of the senior management team and a diverse company of Trust employees and stakeholders.
Must demonstrate excellent written and oral communication and interpersonal skills at all levels and the ability to manage sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
Strong IT literate, to include a thorough understanding of Microsoft Office and its various applications and administrative functions.

• Manage the budgeting and quarterly forecasting processes.

• Analyse financial information and provide modelling and data analytics as requested to support decision making and planning.
• Be responsible for development and implementation of all finance systems, and their integration with the CRM database and other operational systems.

About You

• Qualified accountant (CIPFA/CIMA/FCA/ACA/ACCCA) with relevant senior financial experience in organisations with multiple income streams and/ or £3m+ in revenue.

• Strong ICT skills, including database (Office 365, specifically excel).
