Save the Children UK has an exciting opportunity for a finance transformation professional with significant experience of designing and improving end-to-end finance processes to join us as our Finance Transformation and Process Lead. This is a unique opportunity to play a pivotal role in transforming our finance processes and ways of working as part of the implementation of our new Finance Management System, Oracle Fusion.

This is a contract opportunity for approx 18 months to start as soon as possible.

About the role

As Finance Transformation and Process Lead, you will play a key role in the implementation and embedding of our new Finance Management System, Oracle Fusion. Working across Finance, Technology and the wider organisation, you will translate global system designs into effective local finance processes, controls and ways of working, ensuring the new system delivers lasting improvements while maintaining strong financial control and governance.

In this role, you will:

• Lead the design of future-state finance processes, translating global Oracle Fusion designs into practical, efficient and user-focused processes, operating procedures and controls for Save the Children UK.
• Lead finance transformation workstreams within the Finance Management System programme, managing priorities and deliverables to ensure key milestones are achieved and maintaining momentum throughout the transformation.
• Embed robust financial controls, governance and risk management into future processes, ensuring designs meet relevant accounting, charity, data protection, information security and internal financial requirements.
• Build strong partnerships across Finance, Technology and the wider organisation, facilitating workshops to understand requirements, challenge existing ways of working, validate future-state designs and build commitment to change.
• Support successful change and adoption, developing clear process documentation, guidance and training materials and working with change and training colleagues to embed new processes into business-as-usual operations.
• Drive continuous improvement, using data and process measures to identify opportunities for simplification, standardisation, automation and optimisation as new finance processes and ways of working become established.

About you

To be successful, it is important that you have:

• Significant experience of finance transformation and end-to-end process design within a complex organisation, including developing future-state process maps, operating procedures, control matrices and requirements documentation.
• Strong experience of facilitating process design and requirements workshops, translating complex business needs into practical finance process, control and system solutions.
• A strong understanding of finance operations, financial controls and governance, with experience of embedding appropriate risk and control frameworks into finance processes.
• Experience of delivering within complex transformation or systems programmes, managing multiple priorities and working effectively with senior stakeholders, technology teams, vendors and implementation partners.
• Strong business analysis, process mapping and problem-solving skills, with an understanding of how technology, automation and data can improve modern finance services. Experience of implementing Oracle Fusion would be advantageous.
• A recognised accountancy qualification or substantial relevant finance experience, combined with excellent communication and influencing skills and the ability to explain complex finance, process and system issues clearly to different audiences.

Location & Ways of Working:

The majority of our roles can be performed remotely in the UK, but at times you will be required to come to your contracted office (usually between 2–4 days per month, depending on the needs of your role, team, or service). For many roles, this is likely to be the minimum required to deliver impact.

This will be discussed and agreed with your manager / team and we encourage candidates to discuss our ways of working in more detail at interview stage.
