The Communications & Engagement Coordinator will have responsibility for running all our social media channels and the related administration. They will also support all other functions and service delivery in Smart Works North East.

The role will be based in Newcastle city centre, and there will be occasional evening and weekend work as the role holder will provide key events support.

Smart Works North East is part of Smart Works Charity and there will be some travel to London and regional centres to support with induction and training, as well as regular meetings, calls and conferences with our teams across the UK.

What you’ll need

About you

Working within the communications and marketing team, you'll be confident in managing our social media accounts (we have many), ensuring we're using platforms to get our messages out to both wide and targeted audiences with engaging and timely content.

You'll be happy using tools for social listening, interacting with our audiences and building our reach. You'll be familiar with key metrics for social engagement and will be reporting back to colleagues and other stakeholders - and using this data to constantly improve our communications.

You'll be skilled in writing longer form content for our members' magazine, Caring, proof reading articles, posting content on our websites, creating graphics and making sure our content is engaging, audience focused and dynamic. Oh, and you probably know your way around an emoji set and are not scared of a well timed pun. We're a small but effective communications team and pride ourselves on getting stuck in and supporting each other when we need to deliver big on fast moving projects, so you'll need be able to juggle lots of demands while recognising the importance of always hitting deadlines.

Family days bring families together to create special memories and enjoy time with others who share similar experiences. The coordinator develops and facilitates activity days which involve the whole family and provide opportunities to build friendships and connections with others. Activities take place at outdoor centres, local heritage sites and museums, as well as organised beach days and community centre-based workshops and activities.

Applicants should have relevant experience of working or volunteering with children and young people in education, health or social care, and have exceptional organisation and communication skills. 

The roles are 30 hours per week, working Wednesday to Saturday. In school holiday periods, more activities take place on weekdays (instead of Saturdays), so flexibility is needed.

MAIN PURPOSE & SCOPE OF THE ROLE:

The HR Coordinator will provide specialist and proactive support to other departments within the charity to ensure organisational compliance in all relevant areas relating to HR.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

Reporting to the People Engagement Manager, you will be supporting the Charity to set and deliver on its People Strategy. Key Responsibilities

When a school registers for one of the Trust’s programmes, the Schools Coordinator manages the logistics and organisation of each school’s engagement, working closely with the schools and link teachers to ensure the smooth delivery of our programme. This includes:

• Coordinate booking dates/times – working with schools to ensure we fulfil their application to join one of our programmes.
• Handle enquiries and maintain accurate booking records.
• Staff allocation – Secure a freelance educator to deliver content.
• Direct communication – building relationships with schools, teachers, and school staff, ensuring a smooth user experience for our clients. This includes, but is not limited to, answering queries from teachers / staff as received, linking schools with respective freelance educators as necessary, sharing all relevant updates and information ensuring teachers/staff are fully informed about the delivery plans.
• Courier booking – to ensure all hardware is onsite for respective delivery.
• Monitoring – logistics plans and raising any issues with senior logistics staff as they arise.
• Maintain strong relationships with new and existing clients.
• Manage office communications, including phone calls and emails.
• Assist with general administrative tasks to support the teams objectives.

We are currently seeking to appoint a part time Community Engagement Co-ordinator for our charity based in central London.

The Community Engagement Co-ordinator is responsible for developing with the Communications Manager a community engagement strategy for ScotsCare, in order to increase awareness and engagement with ScotsCare services and support, with the aim of increasing the number of people using ScotsCare services. A particular focus is on building relationships with organisations that engage with potential clients (ScotsCare service users), including councils, NHS, local community partners, service providers and other charities.

 Key Duties include:

• Cultivate positive relationships with partnerships with all relevant stakeholders.
• Increase the visibility and understanding of the work of the charity.
• Attend community events (in-person and online) as a ScotsCare representative, including some evening and weekend events.
• Identify agencies and groups in the community who could benefit from understanding the work of the charity and provide in-person and/or online presentations and overviews.
• Lead staff and volunteers and act as their main point of contact providing support with undertaking community engagement activities.
• Create marketing and messaging materials of both written and data elements to include pamphlets, brochures, and presentations, newsletters and social media posts.
• Work with Communications team to update relevant information on the charity’s website.
• Monitor and evaluate impact over the course of the year.

Renumeration and Terms

• The salary for this post is £36,113

• There will be a 7-13% contribution (dependent on employee level of contribution) from ScotsCare towards a Pension Scheme

Product Marketing Coordinator

This role is critical in ensuring Dot Dot Dot’s property offer meets market demand, business needs, and our social mission.

You will manage key parts of the property product lifecycle - from defining value propositions and preparing properties for launch, through to marketing, viewings, and quality control. Working closely with Marketing and Services teams, you’ll help ensure our properties are well‑positioned, well‑presented, and successfully filled.

This is a varied, hands‑on role combining strategic thinking with operational delivery, and desk‑based work with regular visits to properties. You’ll be supported in role by our senior marketing coordinator and head of marketing and business development.

The fundamentals of the role

Marketing and sales enablement

• Develop property messaging, value propositions, and supporting materials.
• Ensure each property has strong visual assets, including photography, video, and written content.
• Create and maintain property information sheets for internal and external use.
• Coordinate property‑related communications, including Mailchimp viewing emails and location‑based social media content.
• Work with the Marketing team to deliver campaigns, promotions, and go‑to‑market activity.

Viewings organisation and coordination

• Plan, schedule, and continuously improve the property viewings process.
• Supervise and support a small team of property viewing assistants (PVAs), including training, quality oversight, and timesheet approval.
• Ensure PVAs have accurate, up‑to‑date product information, sales guidance, and customer engagement support.
• Occasionally attend viewings to assess quality and gather feedback.

Go-to-market planning and execution

• Visit properties to understand condition, local context, and customer appeal.
• Support property launch planning, including pricing, audience targeting, and marketing tactics.
• Coordinate with Marketing to implement campaigns that attract high‑quality guardians.
• Track and report on the performance of property launches and viewings.
• Work cross‑functionally to ensure alignment between product, marketing, and service standards.

Product vision and positioning

• Support the definition and development of clear, compelling property value propositions.
• Ensure property products align with business objectives, customer needs, and market trends.
• Work with Marketing and Services to connect operational quality with external positioning.

Market and customer insight

• Research market needs, pricing, locations, and competitor activity.
• Develop and refine guardian personas to support effective targeting and communication.
• Share insights across the business to inform marketing, sales, and product decisions.
• Handle applicant information responsibly, ensuring personal data is recorded, stored and shared in line with GDPR requirements and Dot Dot Dot’s data protection policies.

Product lifecycle management

• Liaise with Services during property setup to ensure standards and product features are embedded from the outset.
• Oversee the property journey from setup through launch and occupation.
• Ensure properties are ready for viewings and occupancy through clear coordination and communication.
