The portfolio includes Brake's flagship fundraising events, such as The Big Tea Brake and annual black-tie dinner, a series of digital fundraising challenges, and the management of third-party challenge events.

The role is responsible for creating exceptional supporter experiences, growing event income and building lasting relationships with participants, sponsors and stakeholders to help raise vital funds for Brake's work supporting road crash victims and campaigning for safer roads.

You are an experienced events professional with a track record of planning, delivering and growing successful fundraising events. They are seeking an interim finance professional to provide hands-on support to the finance team during a busy period. We have an exciting opportunity for a Deputy Manager to join our team in Exeter.

The Deputy Manager will work as part of a team that provide holistic recovery-focused support to clients with mental health across Exeter & East Devon Mental Health Services. 

They will work closely with and deputise for the Service Manager to ensure the effective delivery of quality housing and support services within Exeter & East Devon Mental Health Services and will be responsible for the day-to-day operational delivery. They will provide effective line management for delegated front-line staff of the services, to include recruitment, induction, supervision, appraisal and performance management.

What you will be doing: 

• Implementing, evaluating and contributing towards the development of local / service specific procedures and good practice in all areas of service management.
• Undertaking regular audits of various aspects of the service including, but not limited to, CDPSoft records, Universal Housing (UH) records, client files, Medication paperwork and Health & Safety records and to undertake any necessary action and report any issues or concerns to the Service Manager.

Key duties

• Respond to physiotherapy referrals
• Carry out assessments, provide advice and recommend interventions to manage the symptoms in patients with M.E./C.F.S. and related conditions, working with a whole person approach, and involving family/carers where appropriate
• Provide written reports for the person with M.E. and others involved in their care with consent of the patient
• Participate in clinical team meetings at least once a quarter (approximately 1 hour)
• Participate in quarterly physiotherapy team meetings (approximately 1 hour)

• Arrange and undertake consultations in the most appropriate manner for the patient - remotely by either telephone, Zoom or email.
• Record consultation details (date, length of consultation, charge) on Action for M.E.’s internal tracker for invoicing purposes

• Offer a selection of gentle progressive interventions to facilitate an improvement in their quality of life

As a Fundraising Systems Executive, you will play a key role in embedding our new Microsoft Dynamics 365 CRM, helping fundraising teams get the most out of our new systems. You will be part of a newly formed Technology team of developers, testers, and product specialists, working closely with brilliant colleagues to improve processes, manage donor data, and deliver innovative solutions.

This role suits someone with strong analytical and problem-solving skills who can support end users with technical issues and requests while managing multiple initiatives with ease.

You will need an understanding of fundraising processes and donor management, experience with CRM systems like Dynamics 365, familiarity with campaign management and reporting tools such as Excel or Power BI, and ideally a background in application support or not-for-profit organisations.

The post holder will take a project management approach to coordinating and delivering volunteer-led projects across Hestia, with a particular focus on supporting Domestic Abuse services. They will be responsible for engaging, recruiting and onboarding volunteers in line with Hestia's volunteer recruitment processes, ensuring volunteers receive a welcoming and positive introduction to the organisation. Working closely with operational teams, the post holder will build strong and effective relationships with services, inspiring and supporting staff to think creatively about how volunteers can add value and enhance outcomes for the people we support. They will play a key role in developing and delivering meaningful volunteer-led activities that help women accessing Domestic Abuse services experience a greater sense of purpose, connection and joy. The post holder will also provide advice, guidance and best practice support to staff working alongside volunteers, ensuring volunteers are effectively supported throughout their journey with Hestia, while responding to prospective volunteer enquiries and acting as an ambassador for volunteering across the organisation.

The successful candidate will have excellent organisational and project management skills, with the ability to effectively coordinate multiple priorities and deliver successful outcomes. They will be able to provide guidance, encouragement and support to volunteers, colleagues and service users in a professional, empowering and person-centred manner. Previous experience of recruiting and/or supervising staff or volunteers would be advantageous, although this is not essential. The post holder must be confident in engaging with a wide range of people in a warm, approachable and welcoming manner, enabling them to build positive and productive relationships. Strong IT skills are essential, including proficiency in Microsoft Office applications such as Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook, alongside good literacy, numeracy and evaluation skills. The successful candidate will have an understanding of the cultural, social and health issues affecting Hestia's service users, particularly those accessing Domestic Abuse services, and will be able to apply this knowledge sensitively in their work. They will be skilled in building effective partnerships and working collaboratively with stakeholders across the statutory, voluntary and private sectors. A sound understanding of safeguarding and the ability to recognise, respond to and appropriately escalate safeguarding concerns is also essential.

Main purpose of post

This is a new role for the marketing team at Weston Park Cancer Charity. The Communications and PR Manager will play a critical role in telling our story, championing our mission, and amplifying the voices of patients, families, clinicians and supporters.

To lead and deliver impactful, brand-building communications and PR activity that increases awareness, deepens engagement, and strengthens Weston Park Cancer Charity’s reputation across South Yorkshire and beyond. The Communications and PR Manager will work closely with the Marketing Manager, Campaigns Manager and Digital Marketing and Social Media Officer to create compelling copy for charity news stories, press releases and campaigns, ensuring consistent and meaningful communication across channels.

This role will:

Communications Strategy & Planning

· Support the Marketing Manager in delivering the annual marketing plan through communications and PR opportunities.

· Support the Campaign Manager with the charity’s multi-channel campaigns that raise awareness of services, research, events, and fundraising initiatives.

· Monitor and evaluate performance of communications activity, using insight and data to inform continuous improvement.

Media Relations & PR

· Build, maintain and grow strong relationships with local, regional, and national media.

· Act as first point of contact for media enquiries and manage press office activity.

· Lead proactive PR campaigns to highlight the charity’s work, impact and partnerships.

· Prepare press releases, statements, briefings and media packs.

· Support senior leaders and spokespeople with media interviews and messaging.

Communications & Storytelling

· Oversee the creation of high-quality communications across all external channels – website, newsletters and print materials.

· Support the delivery of communications through the charity’s digital channels by working closely with the Digital Marketing and Social Media Officer.

· Provide oversight on social media messaging, online storytelling, and website content.

· Lead on gathering patient, supporter and staff stories, ensuring sensitivity and ethical storytelling.

· Produce compelling copy that strengthens the charity’s brand and inspires action.

Brand & Reputation Management

· Provide staff members with regular training on the charity’s tone of voice, ensuring high standards of output.

· Ensure consistent application of the charity’s brand identity, tone of voice and key organisational priorities.

· Protect and enhance the organisation’s reputation through effective issues management.

· Work with the Marketing manager and Leadership team as needed on reviewing and updating the charity’s strategy, tone of voice and branding.

Stakeholder Engagement & Team Support

· Work collaboratively with clinical partners, fundraisers, volunteers, ambassadors, and community groups.

· Support internal communications to strengthen engagement across teams.

· Represent the charity at events, briefings, and partnership meetings where required.

· Represent the Marketing Manager/Campaign Manager and support the marketing team as needed during annual leave/sick leave.
