The Part-Time Facilities and Operations Assistant plays a key role in the smooth day-to-day running of The Thornbury Centre. Working alongside a small team of staff and volunteers, the postholder will help ensure that the Centre remains safe, clean, welcoming for all users, tenants, staff, volunteers, and visitors.
This is a varied and hands-on role, involving assisting the Centre Manager in building operations, room set-up, health and safety checks, basic maintenance tasks, and supporting the delivery of activities and events. Office & Administration Assistant – Key Responsibilities
Office management and administration
Maintain a welcoming, safe and efficient office environment that enables staff, volunteers and visitors to work effectively, in line with the ‘Groundswellian Way’, our coproduced principles for a safe, positive work culture.
Manage the day-to-day running of the office, including , refreshments, office supplies, IT equipment, room bookings and reception duties.

Build positive working relationships with Workspace, office contractors and suppliers, including cleaners, maintenance providers and other building services.

Facilities, health and safety
Act as the day-to-day office lead for health and safety administration, supporting compliance with Groundswell's Health & Safety Policy.
Ensure all staff and volunteers receive relevant health and safety information during induction, including access to the health & Safety training video, awareness of fire procedures, emergency evacuation routes and workplace safety responsibilities.
Coordinate annual fire risk assessments, workplace risk assessments and PAT testing, ensuring appropriate records are maintained and actions completed.
Support the development and maintenance of Personal Emergency Evacuation Plans (PEEPs) where required.
Liaise with Workspace to ensure landlord responsibilities relating to health and safety are fulfilled, including fire safety systems, signage and equipment maintenance.

We have an exciting opportunity to become a member of our farm leadership team as a Skills and Wellbeing Lead. You will lead the Skills and Wellbeing Programme at Oasis City Farm – Southampton, delivering high-quality sessions, therapeutic activities and workshops for adults and young people. With the aim of building knowledge, practical skills, confidence and wellbeing through animal care, gardening and nature-based learning. This will include leading our Adult day service; developing opportunities for farm users to gain qualifications; facilitating wellbeing workshops and provision that build mental health wellbeing; working with the community lead to develop our volunteer and work placement programme; work alongside our garden assistant to lead on our garden project development, ensuring it is sustainable. Representing CAFOD in coalitions, to decision makers, in church networks and at international forums
Writing policy briefings, reports and communication outputs
Building relationships with external stakeholders and decision makers and UK and global levels
Ensuring advocacy is grounded in strong analysis, partner experience and a commitment to social and environmental justice
Supporting advocacy work of partners and global networks on debt cancellation and financial system reform
Providing strategic and technical advice across the organisation
Any other relevant duties reasonably required
