Save the Children UK has an exciting opportunity for a HR leader with extensive experience in people operations and organisational change and transformation to join us as our Head of People Operations and Change.
In this role, you will work closely with the Director of People to drive the strategic evolution of the People function, deliver high-impact, customer-centred services, lead change and transformation, and embed modern, agile ways of working to maximise impact for children.
This is a maternity cover contract for approx 14-months, to start at the beginning of March 2026.

About the role
As Head of People Operations and Change, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of the People function, delivering high-impact, customer-centred services and systems that enable organisational effectiveness and transformation. You will lead the strategic design and delivery of the people technology strategy, whilst embedding agile and design thinking principles to drive innovation, efficiency, and a seamless employee experience.
In this role, you will:
- Lead the development and implementation of People strategy, services, and operating models, embedding agile and design thinking principles to drive innovation and efficiency.
- Champion digital transformation across HR systems, automation, AI tools, and self-service solutions to enhance the employee experience and operational performance.
- Provide visible leadership and coaching to HR Business Partners, developing their capability as strategic talent partners and change leaders.
- Deliver complex organisational change programmes, restructures, and high-risk employee relations matters with legal compliance, risk mitigation, and a people-centred approach.
- Build strong, collaborative relationships with recognised trade unions and senior stakeholders to support sustainable business outcomes.
- Embed a proactive safeguarding culture and ensure safeguarding expertise is integrated into all relevant projects and initiatives.
About you
You're a confident change agent with experience leading organisational and people transformation within an HR environment. You bring an agile mindset, a strong understanding of HR roles and systems, and a genuine interest in using technology as an enabler of change.
Comfortable leading diverse teams through complexity and restructure, you know how to build trust, bring people with you on that journey, and embed lasting change.
To be successful, it is important that you have:
- Significant experience in HR operations and people transformation, including leading large-scale change programmes and restructures.
- Proven experience in developing and delivering products, services and operating models, ideally within a People / HR function, using Agile and Design Thinking principles.
- Strong understanding of digital HR systems and technologies, including experience leading system implementations, automation initiatives, and innovation.
- Strong understanding of employment law, risk mitigation, and people-centred change delivery, including managing high-risk employee relations matters with sound judgement, legal awareness, and a balanced, solutions-focused approach.
- Experience of engaging and negotiating with trade unions in a constructive and outcomes-driven way, with the ability to navigate sensitive and high-impact issues confidently.
- Strong coaching and people development capability, with experience building high-performing teams, especially in developing HR Business Partners into strategic talent and change leaders.
- Analytical and outcome-focused, with experience using data, KPIs and user feedback to drive decision-making, improve services and demonstrate value.

About the Role
As a Senior Floating Support Worker, you’ll lead the delivery of responsive, person‑centred support that helps adults with complex needs sustain their accommodation and move toward greater stability. You’ll build strong, trusted relationships, provide targeted guidance around housing, health, finances and meaningful activity, and apply a trauma‑informed, strengths‑based approach to boost confidence and resilience. Alongside this, you’ll support and guide a Floating Support Worker, ensuring high‑quality, reflective practice and effective collaboration with SHAP and RSAP providers, Housing Solutions and Community Interventions Teams.
You’ll champion coordinated support by attending key appointments, identifying and addressing risks early, and advocating assertively when systems create barriers. Strong safeguarding awareness, sound judgement, accurate case recording and confident lone‑working are essential, as is the flexibility to respond creatively in fast‑paced community settings. This role offers an opportunity to lead impactful, inclusive work while being supported through training, reflective supervision and hybrid‑working tools.
In this role, you will:

In the 1980s, high unemployment and steep inflation was contributing to a shocking rise in youth homelessness across London. Thousands of young people were sleeping rough every night, with many areas notoriously dubbed “cardboard cities” due to the visible rise in street homelessness. About the role
You will work closely with the Income Generation Team and Services Teams to develop and maintain long-term sustainable funding from Trusts and Foundations. Through developing and expanding income through grants, evolving our case for support, and managing relationships with a variety of grant funders, you will transform survivors’ lives and help us be part of the systems change to end sexual violence.
You will undertake new prospect research, keep up-to-date with the sector at large, and maintain and grow our funding pipeline. You will also write compelling funding bids, proposals and appeals, alongside timely reports to funders. You will seek opportunities to strengthen and build on existing and lapsed funding relationships and offer opportunities to engage funders directly with our work.
About You
You will be passionate about implementing the SARSAS fundraising strategy ensuring that SARSAS can continue to deliver support to meet the needs of those who have been raped and sexually abused across Avon and Somerset.
You will be a skilled writer who is confident in identifying, researching, and qualifying prospects to continue our successful growth. You will have strong relationship management skills and will be able to build and sustain long-term relationships with funders, as well as identify opportunities to deepen funders’ commitment to our cause.
You will have strong organisational skills, and be able to manage a workload which balances application and reporting deadlines alongside funder stewardship and pipeline development. You will also be a good team player and self-starter – we’re a small team who manage our own workloads, but we relish the opportunity to come together, share ideas and take creative risks.

About SARSAS
SARSAS exists to relieve the trauma and distress, and help rebuild the lives, of survivors who live in Somerset, Bristol, South Gloucestershire, North Somerset and BANES, who have experienced any form of sexual violence, at any point in their lives.
We deliver a range of support, including, but not limited to, a helpline, online web chat, self-help resources, counselling, specialist support work, drop-in services and group work.

Contract information
- Salary: £35,000 - £40,000 - depending on experience (FTE)

Purpose
The Philanthropy Leads, reporting to the Head of Philanthropy, are responsible for inspiring new prospective, cultivating and stewarding high-value donors into greater involvement with Christians Against Poverty. They aim to draw supporters closer to the work we do, deepening their relationship and support of CAP. Income from CAP’s major donors is vital for the future expansion of CAP in the UK.

Strategic Implementation & Fundraising

Implementation of a strategic plan to significantly increase major donor income.

Implement a comprehensive fundraising strategy for major donor income, aligned with CAP's overall strategic priorities.

Execution of market research and competitor analysis to identify new funding opportunities and best practice in Philanthropic fundraising.

Build strong relationships with key internal stakeholders, in order to identify points of engagement and draft appropriate funding bids.

Major Donor Development

Manage a designated caseload of high-net-worth individuals or trusts, cultivating deep and meaningful relationships.

About the role
We want to reach and support more people with heart and circulatory conditions, helping them feel informed, empowered, and understood.
As a Health Editor, you’ll play a key role in doing this, through creating and commissioning high-quality written, audio and video content to support people with heart conditions.
You will generate ideas and produce high-quality, engaging and accurate content in a variety of formats (e.g. video, quizzes, infographics, interactive tools) across a range of channels (including web, email, print).
Collaborating with colleagues and other teams, you’ll use data and insight to inform the creation and optimisation of content; ensuring the people who need our support are at the heart of everything we do.
About you
As our ideal candidate, you bring experience of writing, editing and proof-reading content (ideally health content) and interviewing people for first-person stories and journalistic features.
With the ability to work quickly under pressure, prioritise effectively and meet tight deadlines, you have experience of creating and/or managing the creation of multimedia content (e.g., video, animation, interactive tools), working on a print or magazine product, and generating and gathering ideas for content (including by audience insight and SEO techniques).
Flexible and open to challenges, you will be great at producing high-quality, engaging and accurate content, collaborating with you team and colleagues across the business.

Working arrangements
This role is 12 month Fixed Term Contract covering family leave. It is a part time role working 21 hours per week as part of a job share. Ideally working days would include Mondays as a cross-over day between the job share partners but we are very open and flexibility around this can be discussed.
The salary range shown is the full time equivalent and will be pro rata for part time hours.
This is a hybrid role, where your work will be split between your home and at least one day per week, on average, in our London Office. This may vary from time to time, so you will need to work in a flexible way to unlock your best work for our cause.
