About the Role
As the lead for this specialist area, you will:

• Drive the design and delivery of innovative interventions for children, young people and families affected by substance misuse.
• Develop group programmes, resources, and training to strengthen whole-family approaches.
• Build strong partnerships with key stakeholder such as adult substance misuse services, schools, children’s services, and health professionals to ensure seamless referral pathways.
• Develop and deliver training and consultation to external partners and stakeholders on the issues facing young people affected by substance misuse of others. 
• Champion safeguarding and best practice across the service.
• Hold a caseload of complex and high-risk cases involving children, young people, and families, delivering whole-family support, including parenting programmes and harm reduction strategies.
• Monitor and evaluate service impact, ensuring continuous improvement.

About You
We’re looking for someone who is:

• Experienced in working with families facing multiple risk factors, including parental substance misuse.
• Skilled in delivering 1:1 and group interventions and developing new programmes.
• Knowledgeable about safeguarding and child protection procedures.
• Qualified to Level 3 in Health & Social Care (or equivalent).
• A strong communicator and collaborator, able to influence and lead within multi-agency settings.
• You will need to work flexibly countywide across Buckinghamshire so must hold a full UK driving license and have access to a car.

Healthwatch Essex is an independent organisation dedicated to amplifying the voices of Essex residents who use health and care services. With legal authority under the Health and Social Care Act 2012, Healthwatch Essex encourages individuals to share their experiences to help improve healthcare delivery across the county. Role Description

The Information and Guidance (IAG) Officer will sit within the IAG team and support work across the organisation, feeding into a range of exciting projects and opportunities. They will manage to deliver a variety of engagement activities, support individuals who contact the service via phone, email or at face-to-face events, and work closely with the staff, volunteer ambassadors and local stakeholders. 

The post holder will have some knowledge and experience of health and social care and outreach/engagement, as well as experience of planning and facilitating meetings, organising their own diary and directly supporting members of the public and writing short reports. The role requires flexibility and multi-tasking, as well as the confidence to work independently, and as part of a busy and productive team. Excellent communication skills are vital, along with a passion for engaging with people and hearing their experiences.

Day-to-day responsibilities of the post holder will be supported by the Information and Guidance Manager. All work will be fully explained and support will be offered by their line manager and wider senior management team. 

Other work will be varied, but the main purpose will be to ensure that our influence is maximised through the delivery of high-quality and well evidenced reports, taking part in events and activities that will capture and articulate the voice and lived experience of the people of Essex.

The Public Fundraising Manager will lead the individual giving, in-memory, legacies, challenge events and community fundraising activities, building on strong foundations that are already in place across these areas. The Manager will be responsible for around £400,000 of income per year, largely across challenge events, community fundraising, and individual giving. Women in Prison (WiP)is a national, women-led, feminist organisation.  We deliver front line support to women harmed by the criminal justice system, through our work in prisons, in the community and ‘through the prison gate’ as women resettle back into their communities. We also campaign for systems change that addresses the root causes of offending, reduces the harmful impact of prison, and creates workable, community-based alternatives to imprisonment.   

We are looking for a professional to join WiP’s new fundraising team which secures funding from a range of sources including individual donors, corporate supporters, and charitable trusts and foundations. This role will contribute to the foundations for Women in Prison’s ambitious fundraising plans leading on securing gifts from trusts and grants and ensuring that all secured grants are well managed and effectively reported on.  You will be responsible for identifying new funding opportunities and ensuring these are assessed and responded to in collaboration with staff across the organisation. About the role

The Reception Worker is an essential and key role within the Resource Centre, acting as the first point of contact and providing a consistent, familiar and friendly welcome when service users enter the space. The role requires excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to provide a high level of customer service in a busy and fast paced environment, to individuals impacted by trauma. 

Main duties 

• To be the lead worker on client reception in the Resource Centre, working with the Resettlement Team and a rota of staff and managers from across the organisation, as well as locum staff, agency staff and volunteers.
• To be the first point of contact for service users and guests accessing the Resource Centre, ensuring they are provided with a high level of customer service.
• To maintain accurate records of who is accessing the service, what services they are utilising, and ensuring that database access notes are kept up to date by liaising proactively with lead workers.
• To manage and de-escalate potential incidents at the client reception area, and challenge inappropriate behavior as needed, with support from colleagues and duty managers.
• To assist with any admin tasks required.

About the role 

This is a new role within the Legacies Team. Our legacy notifications and income have been steadily growing and we are excited to be expanding the team. 

In this role, you will be a crucial part in ensuring that all legacies to the charity are administered in a timely and sensitive manner, maintaining and building great relationships with both internal and external stakeholders. 

Legacies currently fund over half of our work and you will have an important role in helping Parkinson’s UK support more people affected by Parkinson’s. 

What you’ll do:

• Work with the Legacy Administration Manager to actively manage a varied caseload

• Handle a mixture of pecuniary, residuary and reversionary legacy cases 

• Tailor your approach to each case depending on the circumstances, having a flexible approach whilst ensuring that all gifts are administered in a timely manner

• Work to optimise Parkinson’s UK legacy income where appropriate 

• Ensure that all bequests to Parkinson’s UK are received and utilised, in accordance with Parkinson’s UK policies, including Local Group gifts

• Maintain your knowledge of current legislation around IHT, CGT, s.119 requirements etc 

• Play an active role in the wider legacy team and promoting Gifts in Wills where necessary

What you’ll bring:

• Demonstrable experience and understanding of charity legacy administration 

• Ability to communicate clearly, assertively and compassionately with Executors, solicitors and bereaved family and friends

• High level of numeracy skills in order to approve complex Estate Accounts and tax calculations 

• Experience of operating in a modern digital workplace, including using digital tools to work collaboratively and productively. 

• Ideally have experience of using First Class 4 legacy software 

• Either have or are working towards a recognised professional legacy qualification including Certificate in Charity Legacy Administration (CiCLA), Solicitor, or other relevant legal qualification

Their priorities are to ensure each homeless person is safe, has access to amenities such as food/water, has their own bank account and to support them in either accessing Hostel accommodation through the single homeless pathway or private sector housing.

JOB PURPOSE  

To lead on the case management of clients and be part of a team that supports them in keeping them safe and helping them achieve their goals. 

To provide people with homes and specialist support so they feel more valued and secure, and ready to take the next steps

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES  

• To assess the needs of each client, helping to develop their individual support plan to achieve their goals

• To produce and regularly review comprehensive client-based risk assessments 

• To manage a caseload of clients on a one-to-one basis, providing personalised, intensive support via assertive outreach to long-term rough sleepers in the local area

• To engage with local authorities, health providers and other agencies, creating and maintaining constructive working relationships to maximise the opportunities available to clients

• To work with individuals to create clear housing plans, and to support individuals to access support services around health and wellbeing, money, benefits and housing

• To engage and support rough sleepers on the street working alongside local health care teams

• To help keep clients safe by reducing their contact with police and emergency services

• To identify barriers to accessing maintain safe tenancies and prevent eviction

• To attend community meetings and presentations with managers to support additional funding

• To support clients in trauma informed and psychologically informed ways

The Fundraising Officer will oversee the planning, coordination, and execution of all fundraising activities and events. This role involves developing and implementing strategies to maximise donations and enhance donor relationships, in line with the Central London Samaritans' fundraising strategy. Responsibilities include engaging with individual donors, businesses, and community partners to secure financial support.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Collaborate with the Head of Branch Operations and Branch Director: Identify specific programs and funding priorities and organise targeted fundraising campaigns and events.
• Plan and Coordinate Fundraising Events and Campaigns: Oversee the planning and coordination of fundraising campaigns, events, and initiatives.
• Track and Process Pledges: Monitor, track, and process pledges made at events, ensuring records are regularly updated.
• Manage Online Donations: Oversee online donation activities, maintaining up-to-date records and ensuring relevant departments and donors are informed.
• Identify Funding Opportunities: Seek local and national funding opportunities and contribute to the development of the organisation's fundraising strategy.
• Manage Fundraising Income: Maintain reports, track donations, handle donor correspondence, and evaluate the success of fundraising activities.
• Identify Partnership Opportunities: Look for partnership opportunities for joint fundraising campaigns to expand the donor base.

Hours of work:

The basic hours are 21 hours per week spread over Three working days. Within these hours there may be need to work some evenings and weekend days, so flexibility is essential. The core responsibilities should be carried out during weekdays. The amount of out of hours work will be agreed on an ongoing basis.

Time off in lieu will be allowed in agreement with the Head of Branch Operations and in line with the staff handbook and the European Working Time Directive.

Limitations:

The post holder will be required to work within the rules and regulations of Samaritans and accept the authority of the Director and the Chair of the branch’s Board of Trustees, who have discretion to delegate authority to the post holder and to withdraw it.
