Job description

At The Baked Bean Charity, we believe everyone deserves the opportunity to thrive. Every day, we support adults and young people with learning disabilities through creative, educational and wellbeing services that build confidence, develop independence and create genuine opportunities for people to reach their full potential.

We're looking for an exceptional problem solver, organiser and creative people person to join our team of Project Coordinators

What you'll be doing

Project Coordinators at The Baked Bean Charity play a vital role in the day to day success of our projects, supporting students, staff, and the wider organisation. Acting as a key link between the Service Lead, Senior Leadership Team and the delivery of Baked Bean sessions, they provide guidance, advice, and practical support to Facilitators and Workshop Assistants to ensure our programmes run smoothly and effectively. You will:

· Lead and develop our complex needs provisions, overseeing a range of creative, educational and wellbeing projects that support students to thrive.

· Support and empower your team, providing line management, supervision, mentoring and training to help staff grow in confidence and deliver their best work.

· Champion person-centred support, getting to know students as individuals and ensuring their interests, preferences and support needs shape engaging, meaningful activities.

· Maintain high standards of care and delivery, supporting student welfare, safeguarding, risk assessments and effective responses to challenges as they arise.

· Get hands-on with delivery, working directly with students, modelling good practice and providing facilitator cover and practical support when needed.

· Keep projects running smoothly, coordinating staff, planning, resources and records, while working closely with colleagues, families and external partners.

· Be a reliable point of support, helping colleagues navigate day-to-day issues, responding calmly under pressure and contributing to the wider success of Baked Bean.

About you

· You have at least two years' facilitation experience in performing or creative arts based education, or a comparable organisation, with experience supporting people with learning disabilities and autism.

· You have at least two years’ experience supporting adults and/or young people with learning disabilities and complex needs, with the skills to develop and implement person-centred strategies that promote progression, wellbeing, engagement and positive responses to situations of dysregulation.

· You're passionate about person centred support, inclusion and helping people with complex needs to develop, participate and enjoy new experiences. You have experience in providing personal care and enjoy supporting individuals with all elements of their care, support and welfare needs.

· You're an experienced team leader, confident in supervising, mentoring and developing staff, giving constructive feedback and having difficult conversations when needed.

· You're organised and proactive, with strong administrative skills and the ability to manage competing priorities, maintain accurate records and keep projects on track.

· You're calm, determined and solutions-focused, able to make sound decisions under pressure and adapt when plans change.

· You're a creative thinker who enjoys finding new ways to engage people, overcome barriers and improve the quality of support.

· A confident communicator and collaborative team player who can build trusted relationships with students, colleagues, families and partner organisations.

· You're committed to safeguarding, professional boundaries and continually learning, with the flexibility and motivation to contribute wherever the wider team needs you.

Why join us?

This is an opportunity to be part of a charity that is ambitious, creative and constantly evolving. You'll have the chance to shape the way our services operate, providing a supportive backbone to our everyday operations, and working alongside a passionate team who genuinely care about making a difference.

If you're looking for a role where you'll have real responsibility, plenty of variety and the opportunity to see the impact of your work every day, we'd love to hear from you.

Alongside a rewarding role, we provide a range of benefits to support your wellbeing and work-life balance. These include enhanced annual leave, access to an Employee Assistance Programme, and a staff benefits platform with discounts on shopping and everyday costs. We also embrace a casual dress code to help you feel comfortable at work.

Ready to apply?

If you enjoy working with people, are passionate about care and support and want to make a genuine difference to people’s lives then we’d love to hear more about how you could play a key role supervising our teams with a role at the Baked Bean Charity.

Preferred start date: November 2026.

Please note we will review all applications as they are received, and may begin contacting and interviewing candidates ahead of the official application deadline of Monday 19th October 2026.
