Acorns Children’s Hospice provides specialist care and support for babies, children and young people who are life limited or life threatened. Supporting over 750 children and nearly 1,000 families annually, Acorns is a vital lifeline for families across the West Midlands and Gloucestershire during unimaginably difficult times.

Over the past three years, Acorns’ leadership has enhanced collaboration and innovation across the charity and embedded an organisation-wide fundraising culture. They are now seeking a senior corporate partnerships specialist to lead Acorns’ newly formed Partnerships Team, which combines corporate new business, account management and community income streams.

A member of the Fundraising Leadership Team, the role will be responsible for securing and managing high-value strategic partnerships with businesses while simultaneously driving engagement with local community groups, education partners, and faith groups, ensuring clear tiering, structured pipeline progression and robust income performance.

The role will also act as Partnerships lead for the upcoming £5m fundraising appeal, co-canvassing alongside the Head of Philanthropy and executive leadership, and mobilising corporate and community networks around key campaign moments.

As Head of Partnerships, you will:

• Report to the Associate Director of Fundraising and line manage a team of four (Senior Business Development Manager (Corporate), Senior Corporate Partnerships Manager Senior Community Partnerships Manager, Partnership Engagement Officer)
• Form part of the Fundraising Leadership Team, with shared accountability for strategic decision making, compliance and cross-directorate working
• Lead and integrate Corporate and Community fundraising into a cohesive partnerships strategy aligned to the wider Fundraising Strategy
• Design and implement a three-year corporate and community income plan, with full budget and forecasting responsibility
• Conduct an audit of current partnerships activity, pipeline and resource allocation to ensure effort aligns to regional and national potential
• Lead corporate new business acquisition, securing multi-year strategic partnerships, Charity of the Year agreements, cause-related marketing, sponsorship and stock generation partnership

Essential skills and experience:

• Strong corporate fundraising background within a charity setting
• Proven track record of securing six-figure corporate gifts
• Experience managing and motivating teams to deliver robust income targets
• Experience designing strategies, annual plans and budgets and adapting them as required
• Strong knowledge of the corporate landscape, regionally and ideally nationally
• Confidence leading high-value pitches, negotiations and senior stakeholder engagement
• Experience of forecasting, reporting and managing income performance
• Strong working knowledge of CRM systems and fundraising compliance

Furthermore, you’ll be using your management skills to support and provide effective day to day leadership and coordination within the Services & Support team.

You’ll have demonstrable experience of scoping, designing, and developing new services, programmes, or projects at a strategic level and experience of leading support services in a health charity

The primary aim of this role is to help Money and Mental Health secure the income it needs to deliver its mission and further strengthen the charity’s financial footing for the future. This is a crucial role in our new Fundraising team, and the successful candidate will work across all elements of our income generation activities - from grant-writing to donor stewardship and pipeline development.

The role will have a particular focus on securing funding from Trusts and Foundations, but there will also be ample opportunities to engage corporate partners and other prospective funders. 

The successful candidates will have the chance to bring their ideas in terms of identifying new routes to funding for the organisation and shaping our income generation activities.

Key responsibilities:

Funding bids and proposals

• Draft and develop effective and impactful fundraising bids and proposals to secure both grant income and corporate sponsorship

• Project manage the process of developing funding proposals - including completing funding checklists, coordinating the team on relevant deadlines and booking in time for sign off from relevant colleagues.

Relationship management

• Play a key role in donor stewardship alongside Head of Fundraising and Senior Leadership Team (SLT), including grant makers, corporates and individual donors

• Support SLT in identifying - and building relationships with - relevant individuals within prospective funder organisations - including coordinating meetings.

• Ensure we stay on top of our grant requirements, including drafting grant reports and coordinating other team members to fulfil those requirements

• Work with External Affairs team to create excellent supporter journeys for online donors.

Pipeline development

• Work with Head of Fundraising to undertake research into new fundraising prospects and to develop a strong funder pipeline

• Stay on top of new developments in the charity sector and wider funding landscape

• Make recommendations to Head of Fundraising on new funders we should engage with or seek to build relationships with

• Maintain accurate pipeline data and prospect records, ensuring regular updates

Planning, strategy and vision

• Contribute to the delivery of our income generation strategy - including meeting relevant targets set out in the strategy. 

• Support the team with advance planning on funding bids, project managing complex cross-team processes, matrix-managing small project teams and ensuring all key milestones are met 

• Proactively suggest ideas for ways of improving our processes and ways of working to better support our income generation targets or better deliver our work.

About you:

Essential qualities 

• A proven track record of securing five-figure grants or income from trusts, foundations and/or corporate partners.

• A demonstrable track record of writing impactful and effective funding proposals, and leading the end-to-end process of applying for grants and reporting on those received 

• Strong copywriting skills, and the ability to articulate the impact from donations

• Excellent project management skills 

• Solid relationship management skills, with the ability to lead donor stewardship and develop excellent working relationships with key teams internally

• A genuine commitment to the organisation’s mission, as well as to the principles of equality, diversity and inclusion

The successful candidate will be organised and self-motivated, with a focus on partnership working and building strong relationships. You will balance an enjoyment of events co-ordination with being a skilled writer, who enjoys producing applications and reports.

Flagship Peatlands Project Manager

Salary: £27,874.40 per annum, based on 28 hours per week (FTE £34,843) plus pension contributions

We are looking for an experienced and dynamic Project Manager to join us for an exciting peatland project made possible through the National Lottery Heritage Fund.

The flagship Peatlands Project Manager will work closely with a development team, made up of Trust staff and partners, and will be responsible for developing project plans, timelines, and budgets to ensure the delivery of the project objectives, along with coordinating the team to ensure project alignment.

Special features of the role

The Project Manager will be responsible for the delivery of the development phase of the Flagship Peatlands project.  This is a multi-departmental project for CWT with a number of beneficial partnerships.  To provide a coordinating role to pull the various components of the project together and ensure that it is managed as a single project delivering a range of interlinked outcomes.

Job Purpose

The purpose of the job is to co-ordinate the Trust project development team and the project partners to inform the development of a 2nd stage application for the Flagship Peatlands project to the National Lottery Heritage Fund (NLHF).

About the Project

Peatlands are an unappreciated ‘cinderella’ habitat, but are of huge significance in Cumbria in addressing flooding, climate change and biodiversity loss.  While Cumbria Wildlife Trust have been the county leaders in the restoration of peatland habitats for over a decade, this new significant project will aim to make a step change in the public understanding and appreciation of this internationally important habitat, which Cumbria is so important for.

This exciting role links our 350+ community organisations that receive food from us — known as our Community Food Members (CFMs) — with our thriving and fast-paced food operation. As the Food & Community Officer, you will work across the charity with the Food, Membership and Warehouse Teams, as well as our large and diverse volunteer community, to ensure CFM organisations receive a smooth, reliable and high-quality service each week.

The purpose of this role is to strengthen the connection between food supply, warehouse capacity and member demand. Acting as a key cross-functional coordinator, you will help ensure that surplus food flows efficiently into the organisation and out to the communities who need it. You will support both food-sourcing and membership functions, helping resolve issues quickly, improving communication, maintaining accurate data, and ensuring operational plans are aligned across teams.

Reporting to the Food Manager, with a dotted line to the Membership Manager, this role is central to improving collaboration across the organisation and ensuring FareShare South West delivers a safe, efficient and impactful service to frontline community organisations across the region.

1) Cross-Functional Coordination

• Support daily and weekly communication between Food, Membership and Operations regarding supply and membership demand.
• Maintain awareness of the food pipeline, providing timely updates on incoming supply, changes, restraints, gluts or shortages.
• Assist the Food Manager and Membership Managers with aligning food allocation planning to member needs, operational realities and transport schedules.
• Help coordinate solutions to operational challenges (e.g., quality issues, storage constraints, cancellations, short-dated stock).

2) Food Sourcing Support

• Support the Food Manager with local food sourcing activity, particularly in administration, supplier updates and basic relationship maintenance.
• Be a point of contact for day-to-day supplier communication, ensuring timely responses and accurate information flow.
• Help maintain accurate sourcing records and documentation, including volumes, quality notes and engagement history.
• Support awareness-raising activities about FSSW’s surplus redistribution capability (e.g., events, promotional updates).
• Assist with capturing local supply opportunities and best practice shared through the FareShare Network and escalating them to the Food Manager.
• Help coordinate truck logistics schedules in partnership with Operations ensuring incoming food is aligned with capacity.

3) Member Support & Service Delivery

• Support member onboarding, offboarding, account updates, queries, complaints and general membership administration.
• Lead on resolving daily member-facing issues, including food quality concerns and product recalls, escalating where appropriate.
• Support food allocation writing, ensuring allocations reflect supply, need and warehouse capacity.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date member information, including delivery instructions, profiles and seasonal variations.
• Support membership-related campaigns, events and targeted projects (e.g., HAF, bolt-on models, piloted services).
• Communicate supply changes, special offers and gluts/shortages clearly to members in coordination with relevant teams.

4) Data, CRM & Reporting

• Maintain accurate member records in Salesforce and ensure data integrity across systems.
• Support reporting for funders, SLT and internal operational updates, including supply, allocations, member engagement and service metrics.
• Track and summarise recurring issues (e.g., cancellations, quality problems, demand spikes) to support decision-making.
• Contribute to KPI monitoring across both Membership and Food functions.

5) Compliance, Food Safety & Member Standards

• Operate in accordance with the FareShare Food Safety Manual and maintain required training.
• Support documentation for community food member (CFM) compliance, including kitchen checks, food safety standards and follow-up actions.
• Conduct in-person compliance visits with member organisations as required.
• Provide administrative support for product recalls, safety notices and compliance-related communication.

The Finance & Compliance Officer will typically report to Finance Manager.

Responsibilities include:

Financial Management & Accounting (UK charity context)

• Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records in line with UK charity good practice and organisational financial policies.

• Manage the general ledger, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll journals, and bank transactions.

• Process payments in a timely manner to internal and external stakeholders (team members, suppliers, partners, consultants), ensuring appropriate approvals, documentation, and compliance with delegated authority.

• Record and monitor income and expenditure, ensuring accurate project coding and fund allocation.

• Prepare monthly journals including accruals, prepayments, deferred income and inter-fund adjustments.

• Perform monthly bank reconciliations and full balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring all control accounts are supported.

• Raise and process invoices where required (including consultant invoicing), and coordinate internal approval workflows for payment processing.

• Maintain and regularly update the medical insurance tracker and supplier payment tracker.

• Monitor and follow up on partnership (sub-grantee) agreements and payments, as well as programme consultancy trackers, ensuring financial accuracy and completeness.

• Support cashflow monitoring and short-term/medium-term cash forecasting; flag risks and timing issues proactively.

• Integrate monthly payroll journals into the accounting system and reconcile payroll control accounts.

• Support VAT preparation work and provide documentation for advisors

Budgeting, Forecasting & Project Finance

• Support the Finance Manager with the preparation of annual organisational budgets and project budgets, including proposal costings and budget revisions as needed.

• Support with the preparation of management reporting packs for budget holders (actual vs budget vs forecast), with variance analysis and explanatory commentary.

• Support cross-departmental budget coordination to ensure compliance with donor agreements and funding conditions.

• Maintain and support the Finance Manager with project budget monitoring tools and monthly reforecasting, including burn rate analysis and scenario modelling.

• Assist the Finance manager in producing periodic financial reports for budget holders, including actuals vs budget vs forecast and key explanatory notes.

Compliance, Controls and Reporting

• Support compliance with internal financial controls, donor requirements, and UK charity regulatory obligations (including reporting to the Charity Commission).

• Assist in the preparation of monthly management accounts and financial analysis.

• Prepare year-end schedules and audit files in support of statutory accounts preparation under Charity SORP.

• Support the Finance Manager and external auditors during year-end and audit processes.

• Maintain a robust digital audit trail of financial documentation (contracts, invoices, approvals, grant agreements, timesheets and expenses).

• Identify internal control weaknesses and recommend proportionate process improvements across purchasing, expenses, consultancy contracting and sub-grant management.

• Support in preparation of donors’ reports ensuring compliance to donors’ rules.

• Assist with preparation of schedules for statutory accounts and audit, Support year-end close activities, Payroll, HR Finance & Treasury:

• Support end-to-end payroll processing, including payroll payments, PAYE, National Insurance and pension reconciliations.

• Maintain payroll records in compliance with HMRC requirements.

• Support banking administration including mandates, online banking platforms and payment authorisations.

• Assist with treasury tasks: cash monitoring, payment scheduling, and ensuring sufficient liquidity for operational needs. Capacity Building and Internal Support:

• Provide guidance to staff on financial procedures and processes.

Qualifications and Experience:

Essential:

• University degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field.

• 3+ years’ experience in a finance officer (or equivalent) role with strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial controls, and maintaining audit trails.

• Experience using accounting software (Xero highly desirable), plus strong Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, basic data validation).

• Excellent knowledge of UK accounting standards, VAT treatment, and compliance requirements within a UK charity context.

• Strong numerical and analytical skills with excellent attention to detail.

• Experience preparing or supporting:

o monthly management accounts (journals, bank recs, balance sheet recs),

o cashflow monitoring and forecasting,

o project budgets and donor/project financial reporting.

• Ability to work independently, manage deadlines, and prioritise tasks.

The purpose of this role is to bring together two of FareShare South West’s (FSSW) most critical functions — community membership and food supply — to help transform our current impact, rescuing and sharing food for million more meals. The post holder will lead the development and implementation of both the membership and food strategies, ensuring our membership offer is responsive to community need, operational capacity and the changing landscape of surplus food.

This role is responsible for building and sustaining strong regional and national food partnerships, aligning supply with member demand, and ensuring food reaches the highest priority organisations. The post holder will lead and develop expert teams, strengthen cross-departmental collaboration, and drive service improvements, innovation and growth.

As a key member of the Wider Senior Leadership Team (SLT), the role ensures robust governance, accountability and performance across membership and food, contributing to
organisational strategy, financial sustainability and long-term impact for communities across the South West.

1) Strategic Leadership & Governance

• Provide visible, values-led leadership with clear accountability to the CEO and Board; ensuring teams are aligned behind a consistent culture and change agenda.
• Lead the creation and implementation of the membership and food strategies; delivering to budget, achieving ambitious targets, and embedding innovation for long-term growth.

• Be accountable for all incoming food supply, including national (70-75% of our total supply via FareShare and The Felix Project) and locally sourced (25-30%).
• Raise awareness of FSSW’s capability to redistribute surplus food and, with support from our communications team, position the organisation as the surplus food partner of choice in the region, leading on food campaigns, external activity, networks and events.
• Working with the Food Manager, maintain and grow local food partnerships across the South West to secure supply aligned with infrastructure, growth plans and community need—taking the lead on stewarding key suppliers and maintaining accurate records.
• Be accountable for food safety and compliance across the organisation, including product recalls, legislation changes, liaison with national partners and the Health and Safety consultant.
• Work closely with both the food and fundraising teams to develop and deliver a gleaning programme across the organisation.

We have a unique set-up, sitting separately to but working closely alongside the Communications team as part of the wider Public Affairs team. The Research and Evidence Officer is a new and exciting role at Impetus, an organisation at the forefront of youth policy. Impetus is evidence led and impact focused and we take this approach to our policy and public affairs activity. 

The successful candidate will provide the robust data and insights needed to help us build a better understanding of young people’s experiences across education and employment, support colleagues by providing accurate data, analysis and insight that informs policy development and communication designed to improve their outcomes, and support the team to create compelling cases for change tailored to a range of audiences. They will be line managed by the Head of Education Policy but work across both employment and education policy domains. 

We are a busy team doing interesting and exciting work. Day-to-day you might be extracting insights from government published data, providing evidence for a policy briefing, drafting a report for a policy audience, or working with colleagues from across the team to communicate research findings in impactful ways, following agreed templates, processes and quality standards, and seeking clarification where needed.

The Food Manager plays a critical operational leadership role at FareShare South West (FSSW), ensuring that the charity maintains a consistent, safe and high-quality flow of food to community organisations across the region. Supporting the Head of Food & Membership, the post holder is responsible for managing day-to-day food supply, strengthening local sourcing, and building long-term relationships with suppliers and partners.

The role ensures that incoming food—whether from national or local sources—is compliant, well-managed and aligned with operational capacity. It plays a key part in the effective monitoring of stock, the food pipeline and logistics scheduling. The Food Manager leads local sourcing activity, expands food innovations such as frozen and re-labelling, and oversees key food-related projects including the regional Gleaning Programme.

Managing the Food & Community Officer and working closely with Operations, Membership, Fundraising and other internal teams, the Food Manager helps deliver FSSW’s food strategy, reduce waste, and maximise the impact of surplus food redistributed to frontline organisations.

1) Strategy, Performance & Team Management

• Support the Head of Food and Community in the development and delivery of the food strategy, budget and annual targets.
• Monitor weekly performance against agreed plans; provide operational reporting for internal teams and funders.
• Line-manage the Food & Community Officer and HGV Drivers, including recruitment, appraisals, supervision, wellbeing and development.
• Champion values-led leadership and promote effective cross-team communication.
• Ensure compliance with organisational policies, food safety, health & safety and safeguarding requirements.
• Foster an inclusive, motivational team culture that reflects FSSW’s mission and values.
• Takes visible leadership for health, safety, and food safety, ensuring all team members and participants work safely and effectively

2) Food Supply Management

• Support the Head of Food & Community in managing the national supply relationship with FareShare UK/The Felix Project, including communication, throughput data and supply alignment.
• Manage, analyse and report on over/under-deliveries, food quality, cancellations and trends, working closely with Operations and Membership teams.
• Monitor and report the changing food pipeline, helping devise strategies to redistribute gluts and reduce waste.
• Support Operations and the Head of Membership & Food Partnerships with stock-level monitoring across FSSW sites, including stock movement, product types and capacity.
• Working with Operations, Transport and the national partner, lead on logistics schedules for incoming food to maximise volume while ensuring cost-effective solutions.

3) Local Food sourcing:

• Lead delivery of the Local Food Sourcing Strategy, ensuring local sourcing achieves or exceeds 25–30% of total incoming food.
• Act as the first point of contact for local and regional suppliers, maintaining strong, long-term, trust-based relationships.
• Promote FSSW’s surplus food redistribution capabilities through events, presentations, online presence and food sector networks.
• Grow and manage a sustainable pipeline of local surplus and donated food, complementing national supply.
• Work collaboratively with other FareShare Network Partners to share local food opportunities.
• Maintain accurate and accessible sourcing records and outcomes.
• Support food safety and compliance, including product recalls, legislative changes and liaison with national partners and the H&S Consultant (via the Head of Membership & Food Partnerships).
• Ensure all incoming food is compliant, within operational capacity and aligned with local logistics.

4) Food Development & Innovation

• Lead expansion of the Gleaning Programme across the region, working with Operations, Volunteering and Fundraising teams.
• Support development of new food innovations including:
  • Frozen food expansion
  • Breaking down ambient bulk
  • Re-labelling and product preparation
• Manage key food projects, including reporting to relevant funders, ensuring accurate procurement and financial data in partnership with the Finance Manager.
• Represent FSSW in local collaborations/partnerships addressing local food waste or surplus food

5) Health, Safety & Compliance

• Champion a positive safety culture, modelling safe working practices and encouraging team members to work safely and report hazards or incidents promptly.
• Ensure the incoming food supply complies with FareShare HACCP Food Safety Manual and all relevant legislation and audit standards.
• Provide support for product recalls, safety notices and compliance-related communication.
• Support with internal and external food safety audits

Person Specification
Essential Criteria

• Experience in a food, logistics, FMCG (fast-moving consumer goods), warehousing or similar operational environment, with an understanding of supply, stock flow and operational constraints.
• Proven ability to build and manage supplier or partner relationships, ideally involving food or operational partnerships.
• Experience supervising or managing staff, with the ability to motivate, support and develop team members.
• Confidence using data and reporting, with strong problem-solving skills and a practical, hands-on approach.

Desirable

• Knowledge of food safety, health & safety and compliance requirements, including HACCP or similar frameworks.
• Understanding of charity operations or social impact environments, particularly those involving volunteers or community partners.
• Experience managing or supporting projects, including reporting, coordination and cross-team delivery.
• Familiarity with logistics scheduling, transport operations or stock management systems, ideally in a multi-site context.
• Knowledge of procurement, supplier stewardship or food contract management.
• Experience managing or monitoring budgets, procurement data or cost-effective operational planning.
• Comfortable representing an organisation externally, including at events, supplier meetings or sector networks.
• Experience supporting innovation projects or process improvements.

About the role

We are looking for a Head of Communications, someone with ambition and commitment to shape our approach to communications, internally and externally, and to help us understand how we talk about and demonstrate our impact as a funder. You will be part of a small team that helps to communicate the work of the Foundation externally, drives internal communication, and promotes the work of those we support.

The Head of Communications is a critical post, drawing together our shared story across the different areas of our work and communicating this to key audiences in support of our mission and vision. The communications team plays a crucial role in advancing our commitment to being an anti-racist funder and working towards greater diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging, and you will lead on how this is embedded into all of our internal and external communications activity. You will act as a crucial bridge between the Foundation and our various audiences, in particular those people and organisations we are seeking to support through our funding.

Main areas of responsibility 

• Strategic oversight of internal and external corporate communications, ensuring alignment with the Foundation’s mission, values and impact
• Leadership of diversity, equity, inclusion and anti-racist communications across all platforms and activities
• Reputation, risk and issues management, including navigating complex or sensitive public positions
• Development and delivery of proactive communications campaigns, stakeholder engagement and influencing activity
• Team leadership and cross organisational collaboration, contributing to management culture and organisational priorities

Our ideal candidate will have senior-level communications experience, including developing and delivering external communications strategies, providing sound communications and media advice to senior leadership, and proactively engaging with journalists and key external stakeholders.
