We are looking for an Accounts Assistant to join our vibrant and friendly finance department. You will be responsible for supporting the Activities Finance Coordinator with the smooth running of the Accounts Payable and Receivable function and other duties within the activities finance team. In light of the Union’s recent management of the Bloomsbury Theatre, the postholder will also assist the Finance Department with a variety of tasks, providing flexible support to meet the department’s evolving needs.
Do you have relevant experience in an Accounts Payable role with a strong understanding of financial ledgers and control accounts? Have you dealt with checking and processing a high volume of transactions? If the answer is yes, then we would like you to join our finance team.
Our ideal candidate will have the ability to work independently and prioritise tasks in a high-pressure environment with rapid turnaround times and strict deadlines. The ability to demonstrate flexibility in response to changing environments and team priorities. We are seeking an experienced communications lead to join our external engagement team and play a key role in shaping Martingale’s external profile and scholar recruitment.
As Communications Manager, you will lead on several critical aspects of Martingale’s work including all external communications from social media to PR, and brand management. Crucially, you will lead on the annual recruitment campaign for Martingale’s Postgraduate Scholarships. This three-month campaign each autumn is a fundamental part of Martingales work, ensuring we are finding and supporting as many talented people to apply as possible. Working closely with the Head of Communications and External Engagement, you will lead on all Martingale’s external communications.
A key responsibility will be ensuring that Martingale’s messaging is consistent, with a bold brand presence and strong collaboration with various external stakeholders including funders, universities, media, and government. You will also line manage the Events and Communications Officer who leads on all Martingale events and social media.
We are looking for a strong communicator with some leadership experience including line management, partnership management and external relations. You will bring excellent organisational skills, strong attention to detail, a proactive mindset, and a strong alignment with Martingale’s mission. Key Responsibilities:
Working with the Head of Communications and External Engagement, you will lead on the design and implementation of end-to-end marketing for the recruitment campaign for Martingale Scholars:
- Ensure widespread marketing of the Martingale Scholarship opportunity across the UK, including in media (e.g., student newspapers), on university campuses and on graduate job boards.
- Coordinate an effective paid advertising campaign across multiple channels.
- Directly engage prospective scholars to increase interest and convince them to apply for Martingale opportunities. For example, leading email campaigns, visiting university campuses, or hosting webinars.
- Build relationships with university academics, careers departments, student societies, graduate careers platforms, and other organisations who work with Martingale’s target audience. Encourage them to share Martingale opportunities to relevant people.
- Develop marketing materials and coordinate circulation: leaflets, brochures, social media content, video, email and newsletters, case studies and interviews with relevant people incl. current scholars.
- Procure and coordinate any relevant external providers: e.g., paid digital advertising agencies.
- Manage the Applicant Tracking System, embed and manage a CRM system for enrolled scholars.
Manage brand and increase brand awareness:
- Manage and develop Martingale Foundation’s brand identity, and the identity of our programmes: visual identity, communication style, digital presence, in-person style and feel of events.
- Design and manage a creative and innovative social media campaign across multiple channels, incl. paid ads.
- Manage the website, including maintenance, development, and SEO – with agency support.
- Lead engagement with media outlets and relevant press, including student newspapers. Write engaging press releases and generate interest in Martingale.
- Develop innovative opportunities to grow Martingale’s brand awareness including opportunities for you or the CEO to showcase Martingale’s work.
Stakeholder management and communications:
- Produce and coordinate engaging communications and events for scholars and applicants, alongside the Programme’s team.
- Manage relationships with partner universities Marketing and External Relations teams, ensuring they are consulted and pleased with progress, while also delivering on their commitments.
- Develop collaborative relationships with charity partners or organisations with similar missions to Martingale, as well as potential employers of Martingale Scholars, and ensure they are aware of Martingale’s mission and progress whilst supporting recruitment and brand building efforts.
- Build productive relationships with funders relevant communications teams.
Organisation and team:
- Line manage the Events and Communications Officer, ensuring they are supported, clear on responsibilities and how they fit into the wider strategy of Martingale.
- Work across all departments in the organisation, ensuring that staff are supported to produce communications and that all Martingale’s work is being promoted effectively.
Monitor and report on the progress of the Martingale Foundation:
- Lead the production of impact reports.
- Collect and analyse data from applications, and annually review and refine the Martingale Scholarship’s recruitment campaign to make appropriate adjustments in future years.
- Assess, evidence and communicate the impact of the Martingale Foundation Scholarship in innovative ways.

About the role
The Strategy, Planning and Performance Director works across WAUK and WaterAid International to deliver performance and planning. They are responsible for delivering planning and performance assessment across both WAUK and international - ensuring that these are aligned and link up in the most efficient manner possible. They will ensure that we understand how we are contributing towards our global strategy and we are maximising our global impact.
In this role, you will:
- Lead WAUK annual planning process. Support WAUK ED Finance, Technology and Strategic Planning to develop UK business plan.
- Lead global annual planning process: work with WaterAid members to align member business plans that maximise the potential contribution of each member to WaterAid’s Global Strategy and impact.
- Coordinate global and WAUK reporting at year end, ensuring a coherent narrative over time that provides clarity for UK Board and WaterAid international Board.
- Coordinate WAUK Quarterly Performance Review (QPR) process, delivering quarterly reporting to the UK DT and Board.
- Provide effective leadership to the Strategy, Planning and Performance team ensure high levels of motivation and engagement as well as strong relationships across the organisation.
- Lead on strategy and performance communications, working with the internal and external communications teams ensure all staff and relevant external audiences have a good understanding of WaterAid’s Global Strategy and our performance (Global and UK)
- Lead the project management support to key WAUK and WAi projects, as required
- Own the Global Performance Management Framework to assess performance against WaterAid’s Global Strategy. Ensure this is aligned and integrated with member-level performance assessment processes.
- Own the development and evolution of WaterAid’s Global Strategy, ensuring effective analysis of external trends and context, drawing on expertise, experience and perspectives from across the organisation.
- Provide support, advice and guidance to enable effective, aligned implementation of the strategy across all members, including support programmes of change and / or individual change projects
- Lead on any multi-annual review of progress against the Global Strategy to assess contribution to global change, identify achievements and challenges, lessons learned and recommendations.
To be successful, you will need:
- Strategic and critical thinking across complex and fast moving environments: able to shape business direction and strategy through anticipating and identifying trends and shifts in the wider world, able to translate strategy into action
- Knowledge of corporate planning, with a deep understanding of different approaches in different contexts
- Understanding of complex performance assessment in data-poor environments and complex, qualitative evaluation methodologies that enable deep reflection on performance

- Significant experience of providing strategic guidance to Board and senior leaders within a large and complex organisation. Able to build and maintain credibility and trust at all levels of the organisation.
- A degree with substantial experience in strategy, planning, and performance management within a reputable organization. A Master’s degree or Professional finance qualifications (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) or an MBA are advantageous but not essential.
- Clear communication and ability to convey complex ideas in a compelling manner, tailoring arguments to persuade the listener.

You’ll be part of a small, committed team, with real visibility across the organisation and exposure to all aspects of charity operations. From managing stock and overseeing warehouse activity, to working with volunteers and liaising with charity partners, this is a varied role where no two days are the same.
The role is based in Watford, with regular travel to our partner warehouses in Northampton and Biggleswade. Qualified Low Intensity Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner (PWP) – NHS Pathfinder Partnership
GMRC is a registered charity working with adult women who are victims and survivors of sexual violence and child sexual abuse, providing independent, specialist support and promoting and representing their rights and needs.
The post-holder will be based at GMRC but work alongside TRC and MASH women’s services and work within the pathfinder partnership, across all partner organisations, providing high quality, evidence based, low intensity Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) based interventions using a guided self-help model, to clients with who have experienced sexual trauma but also have additional mental health needs. The post holder will work with people with different cultural backgrounds and ages, using interpreters when necessary and should be committed to equal opportunities.
Key responsibilities:
- Work within the Pathfinder partnership consultation model to identify potential survivors who might benefit from a low intensity psychological intervention.
- Undertake client-centred conversations and assessments which identifies areas where the person wishes to see change and or recovery and makes an accurate assessment of risk to self and others.
- Provide a range of information and support for evidence based, low intensity psychological interventions whilst working within a flexible and person-centred model of care.
- Work closely with other members of the team ensuring appropriate interventions are considered and identify where a transfer of care to an HSP or another pathfinder team member might be required.
- Prepare and present clinical information for all clients on their caseload to clinical case management supervisors within the service on an agreed and scheduled basis, in order to ensure safe practice and the clinical governance obligations of the worker, supervisor and service are delivered.

The Clink Charity, founded in 2009, aims to prevent and reduce reoffending through training, rehabilitation, and support. ABOUT THE ROLE
The Support and Employment Worker will provide a high quality and responsive mentoring and advocacy service which creatively addresses the needs and risks of our students and graduates to enable them to avoid further offending and to obtain and maintain employment upon release.
Our students and graduates will come from multiple prison sites across the London and the South East region, so careful diary management, logistical planning and travel are key components of the role.
This is a flexible role, mostly based at HMP Brixton, but will also include travelling between
HMP Downview and HMP Send multiple prisons and our Clink Training Café site in Herne Hill, with some working from home and managing a community caseload of graduates who have been released.
The Support and Employment Worker will develop action plans with each student in prison to support them in obtaining employment upon release and also in developing independent living skills to work towards their long-term goals and aspirations.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
As a Support and Employment Worker at The Clink, you are responsible for:
•Mentoring, supporting and being the point of contact for students and graduates as they transition from our hospitality and horticulture training programmes in prison and in the community for up to 12 months.
•Working with and supporting people in prison and students prior to and after release from prison, or from graduation in our community café, to empower them in finding and maintaining accommodation, employment and a drug-free, offence-free lifestyle.
•Building relationships with Clink Chef Trainers, HMPPS Resettlement and Employment Teams, HMPPS Officers and Governing Teams in the prison and all parties invested in the training, support and employment of our learners.
•Working with students and graduates to identify their needs and risks, and to identify short and long-term goals.
•Motivating and engaging students and graduates and to provide practical and emotional support.
•Liaising with employers to secure opportunities for our students and for continuity of employment for graduates upon release.
•Supporting people dealing with drug and alcohol problems and to make referrals to other services as required.
•Undertaking risk assessments for each student, to recognise changes in risk level and take appropriate action.
•Maintaining case records and report on students' progress to external agencies and for our own Clink records on Clink Connect, our CRM system.
•Working in partnership with the team to enhance overall delivery of the service.
•Maintaining a professional approach that enhances the reputation of the charity.
DESIRABLE SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE
- Experience of prisons and/or the criminal justice system. This can be lived experience.
- Experience of working with a variety of client groups both in custody and in the community, including men, women and 16-25-year-olds.
- Experience of working with young people in gangs and/or at risk of exploitation and county lines.
- Experience of working with neurodivergent people and those with disabilities and additional needs.
- Experience and skill in using a trauma informed approach with vulnerable people who present a risk of harm, including knowledge of mental health issues, drug and alcohol use and offending behaviour.
- Experience in setting up a strong employer network and using this to support our graduates into employment post-release.
- Experience referring to other services and using a multi-agency approach.
- A level of numeracy sufficient to carry out tasks such as budgeting with clients, calculating benefit entitlements and understanding rent arrears.
- An understanding of safeguarding issues and PREVENT Duty and the ability to assess risk in consultation with line manager.
- Some knowledge of the benefits system and ability to deal with housing agencies and landlords
- Driver with clean licence.
- IT literate - will need to maintain records about our students on our in-house CRM system and complete assessments for HMPPS.

- Collaborate with the Evelina London and Guy’s and St. Thomas’ Trust Communications Teams to agree plans and look for opportunities to work together to maximise impact.
- Act as main point of contact for Evelina London Trust Communications team, building strong relationships and specialist knowledge to best support future campaigns and objectives
- Act as a business partner to fundraising and funding teams to influence their marketing plans and support delivery, providing expertise on the Charity brands and expertise on a wide range of marketing tactics, including digital marketing, internal comms, PR and communications, events and collateral development.
- Work with the Senior Brand and Content Manager to support with content production, eg copywriting content and working with external suppliers on video and photo production.
Delivery
- Delivery across brands, through effective end to end project management and prioritisation as well as ensuring alignment of stakeholder expectations. This could include managing the delivery of the following –brand awareness and fundraising campaigns, impact reports, branded merchandise, case studies, challenge event collateral, digital assets, hospital onsite collateral, pull up banners, posters, leaflets, DM packs, fulfilment materials, digital assets including videos, photography and animations for social media
Central to your role will be:
- Leading project groups to deliver outstanding campaigns
- developing and managing timing plans and scheduling
- developing marketing and communication plans
- working with stakeholders to develop creative and campaign/project briefs
- copywriting and key messaging development
- effectively managing feedback and sign off/approvals process internally and externally and stakeholder engagement
- scheduling, chairing and managing meeting agendas and follow up actions
- presenting project updates and evaluation
- ensuring DEI principles are embedded across all charities comms and marketing work
- proof-reading of materials, fact and source checking
- briefing creatives and supporting the creative process with designers, copywriters, agencies and freelancers
- managing the print and production process where required for marketing collateral
- managing Guy’s and St Thomas’ hospital onsite and channels comms and marketing collateral for charity events, campaigns or projects. This may require you to be onsite at the hospital or related partner or community sites or events on regular basis, which will be based in London
- managing the development of case studies for Supporters, Fundraisers, patients, families and NHS Staff
- implement and embed our new brand portfolio across our organisation and the Trust including successful application of new brand identities, values
- Specifically support Fundraising colleagues across Events and Community, Direct Marketing, Corporate, Legacies, Public Fundraising and Major Giving to deliver on marketing plans for income generation and engagement.
- Collaborate with the charities Digital team to ensure strong performance of our digital channels in support of our Charity brand goals and content
Analysis and research
- Test and evaluate marketing and communications activities, providing the insights and data that influences decisions about future activities.
- Keep abreast of marketing best practice and new developments, contributing ideas on how these could increase the impact of our work.
Collaboration, Relationship Building and Networking
- Build excellent working relationships with the Evelina London and Guy’s and St. Thomas’ Trust Communication Teams, fundraising and funding colleagues - sharing objectives, agreeing plans and looking for opportunities to work across teams to maximise impact. Ensuring they are kept informed and consulted on plans and activities. Organise and lead regular planning meetings between teams.
- Support effective information flow and collaboration through regular meetings with the digital team.
Celebrity engagement and media
- Provide specialist support in developing opportunities involving celebrity engagement.
- Provide support and matrix management to the Senior Media Officer (Trust employed) to ensure we are maximising media and PR opportunities
Budget and supplier management
- Manage project and campaign budgets including invoicing and regular financial reporting.
- Manage external suppliers, ensuring procurement procedures are followed, suppliers are fully briefed and deliver projects to deadline and to budget.
Other
- Pro-actively spot opportunities to grow our 3 charity brands, sharing best practise and knowledge with teams to maximise campaign effectiveness
- Pro-actively support with creating and embedding team processes and ways of working to improve efficiencies and effectiveness across the organisation
Work environment
The post holder should expect to:
- Work in a hybrid hot desk environment, generally working 2 days a week in the London office and three from home.
- Be responsible for the input and maintenance of databases and files relevant to the post requirements.
- Will occasionally be required to attend events in the evening and at weekends.

Shieldfield Art Works (SAW) is a project of the Methodist Church in Newcastle upon Tyne which is seeking the wellbeing of the city through creative practice. We are seeking an experienced, enthusiastic individual to build up Shieldfield Art Work’s fundraising programme and contribute to our strategy. This is a vital part of our work as we seek to become more sustainable and resilient in an ever challenging climate.
Our ideal candidate will have good experience in developing and implementing a robust fundraising strategy in order to take the strategic fundraising work of our community arts hub into a new chapter. You will also be able to articulate your active Christian faith, be able to explain SAW's Christian ministry and show ability to be able to write for both Christian and secular funders with different priorties.
You will need to be self-motivated and confident in your expertise. The role is suitable for candidates who are experienced in larger and multi-year applications to trusts and foundations (ideally in the cultural sector), developing individual giving campaigns and CSR channels, cultivating donor relationships and a good storyteller, to tell the story of and champion SAW. You must be motivated particularly by the social impact and outreach work that we deliver.

Shieldfield Art Works (SAW) is a project of the Methodist Church in Newcastle upon Tyne which is seeking the good of the city through creative practice. We are a team of artists who support others to be creative, and use our creativity to support others. We believe that the arts help us to articulate what it is to be human and that arts participation enables joy and flourishing in unique and unexpected ways. We are blessed with a gallery, workshop room and garden on our site in Shieldfield and so try to organise ways for these assets to be a blessing to our local community.
