The Role

The CEO will be accountable to the talented and committed Board of Trustees and be responsible for the overall strategic management, leadership, and development of Harrogate Neighbours. Duties will include:

• Ensuring the development and implementation of integrated strategies across care, housing, operations, finance, marketing and communications, human resources and workforce, information management and technology, estates and performance monitoring, management and reporting.
• Providing overall leadership for Harrogate Neighbours in line with the vision, mission and values agreed by the Board of Trustees.
• Providing strategic leadership for fundraising and income diversification, ensuring the organisation has a sustainable and mixed portfolio of income.
• Developing and maintaining positive collaborative partnership arrangements with commissioners, local authorities, local communities, MPs, the voluntary sector, communities and other key partners and stakeholders.
• Overseeing the financial processes for the organisation and leading delivery of the agreed budgets.

About this job

We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Income and Gift Aid Accountant Assistant to help us make sure every penny counts in our mission to stop MS. You'll play a key role in managing our income processing and supporting Gift Aid claims to help us maximise the value of every donation.

You'll ensure that donations recorded in our CRM system match the funds received, resolving discrepancies and supporting our income processes to run efficiently. Working closely with our Customer Services and Fundraising teams you’ll be at the heart of making sure our financial data is accurate and robust.

You’ll also assist with preparing and checking Gift Aid claims, helping us claim back vital extra funds at no additional cost to our supporters. Your detail driven approach will help us continue to build a strong and transparent foundation for everything we do.

To succeed in this role, you’ll need a good understanding of financial accounting principles, strong Excel and IT skills, and a collaborative problem-solving approach. Excellent communication and organisational skills will also be essential as you work closely with teams across the organisation to ensure our income records are accurate and efficient.

ROLE PURPOSE:

As part of in an in-house brand and creative team this role will help plan, shoot, create and oversee the production of quality audience-led graphic design and multi-media content under the ShelterBox brand.

Working with the Senior Brand Manager and wider Brand and Content team, the successful candidate will deliver end-to-end projects to bring the brand alive and support our fundraising, communications and international teams to drive income, awareness and support successful user journeys.

The role will advise all ShelterBox teams to work within brand guidelines and enable teams to access and use assets and templates by maintaining accurate systems. They will also support wider development of a purpose-led brand, using insight and by building strong relationships with audience and channel owners.

WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

Are you looking to join an in-house Brand and Content team? This role would suit someone who's keen to work across all areas of the organisation, championing brand guidelines and managing and delivering a wide range of creative projects under the ShelterBox brand.

You must be able to edit video and have a good knowledge graphic design and brand. It is a requirement of this role to have a working knowledge of Premier Pro, After Effects, Indesign and Illustrator, with experience across Adobe Creative Suite. You'll also be able to demonstrate great copywriting skills and have excellent attention to detail. The successful candidate will have experience in practical photography and film.

You will need to be able to plan and lead a shoot and confidently pick up a camera and capture ShelterBox footage and interviews in the UK and in the countries where we work. This role will, at times, be required to deploy in both major disasters and pro-active content trips - gathering content themselves and supporting external freelancers.

MAIN ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Within this role you will be a great relationship builder working across a wide range of ShelterBox teams, external agencies, partners and freelancers.

A strategic thinker - able to work on multiple long and short project deadlines and prioritise to objectives.

Driven by audience needs - whether that's optimising creative in response to Digital Marketing data and insight or getting under the skin of key strategic funders to make the right content at the right time to drive objectives.

Experienced in working across fundraising and communications channels for both warm and cold audiences to drive income and awareness.

We are looking for a creative talent who can get to the core of ShelterBox's mission whilst remaining up to date with the detail, picking up new ideas and concepts easily. You'll understand the power of story in fundraising and communications, be self-motivated, with a can-do approach and be flexible in supporting the wider team.

DUTIES WILL INCLUDE BUT NOT BE LIMITED TO:

Brand:

• Support and train the wider organisation to effectively create content within ShelterBox brand guidelines

• Support the continued development of an online brand hub

• Support the development of a purpose led brand. Help to develop and implement a brand strategy.

• Help drive brand and values led storytelling across the organisation driven priority audiences

• Position ethical storytelling as a central thread of the ShelterBox brand

Creative and content development:

Manage creative projects for key ShelterBox teams working across multi-media disciplines including video, scriptwriting and graphic design. Lead projects from creative brief stage through to asset delivery including all production. Responsible for core projects split across the team including warm and cold supporter journeys, evergreen and explainer content for digital optimisation, celebrity videos, philanthropy and partnerships, Rotary.

• Support the digital marketing strategy. Responsible for creating asset sets for Always On and time-framed campaigns. Work to tight deadlines and respond to agency and internal feedback to continually optimise creative.

• Support ShelterBox to develop our in-house creative approach. Facilitate workshops and creative exercises to ensure we create objective and audience led products.

• Support a review of design across the organisation and enable teams to design via templates.

• Support the development and re-fresh of templates for both design and video.

• Work with external agencies, freelancers and partners.

• Use audience insights to inform all plans and work with the insight team and others to measure success.

• Ensure all projects follow sign-off processes

Content gathering:

• Plan and lead shoots in the UK and in countries where ShelterBox works.

• Film a wide range of ShelterBox spokespeople including CEO, board members, programme staff, partners and high-level celebrity supporters both at an in-house studio or on location.

• Photograph and film events in the UK and overseas.

• Shoot and manage a bank of studio photography of ShelterBox aid items - responding to audience insight and channel requirements.

• Develop and deliver quality content training for ShelterBox staff

• Help to manage ShelterBox photography, sound and video equipment and studio

• Work closely with the ShelterBox operations team and partners to ensure we are gathering high-quality content across all our live deployments.

• Process and edit raw content from deployments - case studies, photos, video.

• Deploy to gather content or train partners - dependent on funding and strategic need. At times this may involve taking freelancers on agreed trips. Note: Deploying in major disasters or to partner organisations may involve operating within ERA areas so role will need to be HEAT trained.

• Interview and film communities affected by disaster

• Gather content to ShelterBox ethical guidelines.

• Offer knowledge of best practice and innovations from other organisations and sectors.

About the role

We’re excited to be recruiting a Head of Supporter Insight and Experience to lead WWF-UK’s understanding of its supporters and ensure that insight is consistently used to shape strategy, journeys and decisions across the organisation.

In this role, you’ll lead and shape WWF UK’s supporter insight and experience, owning the frameworks, intelligence and evidence that guide organisational strategy, supporter journeys, investment decisions, product development and innovation. You’ll build and develop a cross organisational insight capability in a new Supporter Experience Directorate - integrating qualitative research, quantitative analysis, audience segmentation, digital analytics and journey intelligence.

You will play a key change leadership role, embedding insight led ways of working across Fundraising, Communications, Digital and Technology, and championing a shared understanding of supporter needs and behaviours. A core part of the role is driving digital experience improvement and working collaboratively across teams to inform system development, UX design and experience innovation.

Skills and experience

You’ll bring the skills and experience needed to succeed in this role, including:

• Proven experience leading organisation-wide qualitative, quantitative and digital insight programmes

• Strong understanding of supporter or customer behaviours, needs and motivations, with proven experience in supporter segmentation and audience frameworks, as well as journey analysis, mapping and reporting.

• Experience of leading innovation pipelines, including developing business cases for improvements or investment and managing initiatives, from concept to delivery.

• Strategic insight leadership and communication skills, able to turn complex evidence into clear organisational direction, priorities and recommendations.

• Ability to influence senior stakeholders and embed insight led ways of working across fundraising, communications, technology and product teams.

Our Young People & Families (YP&F) Operational Hub delivers a wide range of integrated support services designed to help resolve complex difficulties experienced by young people and their families/carers.

Support is provided to people who find themselves in a range of circumstances; they may be missing from home or have emotional, housing or substance misuse issues. We also support families where parents/carers are experiencing domestic abuse, substance misuse, emotional issues, homelessness or unemployment. Whatever the situation, we work alongside young people and their carers to find a way of stabilising their lives.

Redthread is a hospital based youth work service, working alongside NHS staff and other professionals in emergency departments.

Our experienced, specialist youth workers engage with and support young people, aiming to support them with their needs in hospital and post-discharge. We often meet young people at a moment of change and work with them to find a positive way forward.

We provide long-term, holistic support. We consider every aspect of a young person’s life and build support around them.

About the Mental Health Youth Work Service Pilot

The prevalence of reported mental health challenges in children and young people living in England have been increasing.  In addition, research tells us that children and young people facing such challenges with their mental health are more likely to self-harm. For some children and young people, A&E Departments may be a first point of contact with healthcare services following self-harm. While in recent years the number of attendances by children and young people for mental health needs and/or self-harm have stabilised, there was a sharp increase in attendances following the pandemic. For children and young people who have gone to A&E for support with their mental health, such as following self-harm, waiting a long time in A&E can be hard. A&E Departments are often very busy and loud places and there is not always access to secluded space for those who have gone to A&E when experiencing difficulties with their mental health.

Children and young people who are also neurodiverse may find the environment particularly challenging and overstimulating while they are waiting to access care and support. This pilot aims to strengthen the offer of support to young people aged 11-18 in A&E, and also consider the wider social and emotional wellbeing needs of those individuals whilst in that environment and following discharge by ensuring there is follow up support for a variety of services.

The Mental Health Youth Work Service model has been informed by young people with experience of hospital attendances after self-harming, and their feedback has been used to shape the care we aim to deliver.

The service runs across two hospital sites in London: King’s College Hospital and Queen Elizabeth Hospital. There will be a team consisting of one Senior Youth Worker and a Youth Worker embedded in each site.

Job Description

Where you fit in

This is an exciting new service working in partnership with King’s College Hospital Accident and Emergency Department. The project is a pilot that aims to provide specialist Youth Work support for young people presenting to a hospital because of their mental health, and specifically where they attend because of self-harm.

The Senior Youth Worker will lead on the Mental Health Youth Work service embedded within the A&E department. This will involve line management responsibilities for the Mental Health Youth Worker, partnership working to build relationships both internally within the hospital and externally in the local community, and with both statutory and non-statutory partners.

The Senior Youth worker will be expected to support and build trusting relationships with young people who present with acute needs and are often in a crisis. They will manage a caseload of their own, with contact taking place both in the hospital and post-discharge in the community.

The Senior Youth Worker will ensure the integration of the service at their respective hospital A&E department, and work alongside the Team Leader in reporting, monitoring and evaluation requirements

Main Duties & Accountabilities

• Lead the delivery of the Mental Health Youth Work service for young people aged 11-18 who attend the A&E department. Ensure that all young people are assessed holistically and care plans are tailored, trauma-informed and empowering, with the aim of reducing further harm.

• Line manage the Mental Health Youth Worker, providing guidance and direction through regular contact and meetings, case allocation, caseload oversight and one-to-one supervision, both formally and informally.

• In collaboration with the other Senior Youth Worker, provide overall support to the team to develop and improve skills, including assessment and recording, to ensure that Redthread’s model of intervention is delivered consistently.

• Promote high levels of wellbeing for staff members who are working with young people who have experienced acute and chronic mental health challenges

• Hold a caseload and work with young people with often complex needs, in a range of settings, including in A&E, in the community, face-to-face and virtually where required, and promote their personal, educational, health and social development through all interactions

• Assist with the on-going development of the service model to ensure that young people and other stakeholders gain the maximum benefit from Redthread’s interventions

• Along with the team, tailor and design youth work resources that are specific to the young people we are working with

• Contribute to the training programme that Redthread provides for hospital staff, including informal microteaching and more formal presentations.

• With support from the Team Leader, maintain strong working relationships within the Hospital, and NHS staff ensuring that Redthread youth workers are fully embedded in the health setting and are working with clinical staff to deliver a service that meets the needs of young people, including promoting the service within the hospital and attending appropriate internal meetings

• Assist in building and maintaining strong working relationships with Redthread stakeholders, project partners and with other agencies working with young people and to represent Redthread at external meetings as required.

• Ensure that as a team, you are proactive in researching and networking with other organisations working with young people in the area served by the hospital to ensure that the Youth Workers have a good knowledge of other services and projects that may be of interest to the young people we work with or appropriate for us to refer to.

• Attend multi-disciplinary team meetings in hospital, working with ED staff and CAMHS teams to support and safeguard young people

• Maintain a good level of professional knowledge of the issues affecting young people, particularly related to their mental health needs and self harm.

• In all areas of the work, apply an in-depth understanding of safeguarding responsibilities when working with children and young people, and provide guidance to your team members that adheres to Redthread’s Safeguarding policy and procedures and safeguarding policies of respective NHS Trusts.

• Ensure information resources such as client forms, databases and contact files are kept fully up-to-date and secure, in line with GDPR, the Data Protection Act and our Confidentiality Policy and Consent Policy. Power2 is a fast growing and energetic children and young people's charity that has supported 27,000 young people since 2001. We are based in the North West of England and London and deliver early-intervention asset-based programmes to children and young people who have mental wellbeing challenges and are disengaged from school and more widely. We are well-known for our accredited Teens and Toddlers programme and are supporting young people via Power2 Rediscover, an intensive 1:1 crisis response programme.

We are looking for new Programme Leads to deliver our programmes so that all children and young people, regardless of their needs, feel they belong and can prosper.

Our new Programme Leads will be trained to deliver all our programmes and will primarily work in schools to support young people, their families, and school staff to ensure that at-risk pupils make the most of their education and improve their life chances. Work will include 1:1 support based in a school or in the community and delivery of Power2’s group programmes. The successful candidates could be based in one school or travel between multiple schools.

They work collaboratively alongside young people, operating as a mentor as they empower young people to develop self-esteem, become resilient and engage with school and their own future. Speech and Language Therapist

We are looking for a Speech and Language Therapist (term time + 3 weeks only) to join a multi-disciplinary team which provides educational support to children and young people, their families and local schools.

About the Role

The Speech and Language Therapist at the Education Hub will provide specialist assessment, intervention and support for children and young people affected by the Grenfell Tragedy. The therapist will conduct comprehensive assessments using evidence-based tools, including formal standardised assessments, observational analysis and dynamic assessment approaches to evaluate speech, language and communication needs.

You will:

• Work on a 1:1 and group basis with children and young people and provide a high level of expertise to develop students’ speech, language and communication skills.
• Give advice, information and support to enable parents/carers and schools to promote the development of speech, language and communication skills.
• Work with families to equip them with the knowledge and skills to create supportive home environments that meet their child’s specific needs.
• Work in close liaison with the Occupational Therapist and the rest of the team to ensure efficient and effective management of children identified with speech, language and communication needs.
• Comprehensively assess children and young people to help identify difficulties in expressive and receptive language, social communication, fluency, and speech sound development, ensuring targeted and effective intervention.
• Produce detailed reports with clear actionable recommendations to inform support plans and guide effective therapeutic and educational strategies, ensuring interventions are tailored to each child’s specific speech, language, and communication needs.
• Develop Speech & Language Therapy training packages, policies, and programmes to parents, carers and professionals.

About You

You will have:

• UK qualified status and registered with the HCPC (Health and Care Professions Council) with a license to practice.
• Registered member of Royal College of Speech & Language Therapists
• Trained in Hanen, Elklan, Let’s Talk or VERVE Child Interaction (or a willingness to attend training)
• Extensive knowledge of principles in effective working with families and schools and application to practice.
• Experience of operational caseload management for children with a speech and language need.
• Extensive knowledge of appropriate assessment and therapeutic interventions relevant to the client group.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with diverse stakeholders.
• Culturally competent, with an understanding of diverse family contexts and the ability to tailor interventions accordingly.
• Skilled in trauma-informed practices with a focus on supporting children and families affected by adverse experiences.

About the Organisation

The Grenfell 'Education Hub' opened last year to serve those most affected by the Grenfell Tower tragedy. The hub provides a safe, restorative and relational education support to children and young people, their families and local schools.

A consultation process in 2023 and 2024 about the needs of the community and the bereaved and survivors led to proposals for an educational ‘hub’.  This comprises a wide range of professionals including four specialist teachers, an Educational Psychologist, a Speech and Language Therapist, an Occupational Therapist, a Careers Specialist, and a Family Support Practitioner. Their time will be divided between direct work with children and families in the ‘Hub’, and support for local schools.

The activity of the hub aims to;

• Provide good quality educational support to as many children and young people as possible
• Build the skills and confidence of children and young people, their families, and education staff in local schools
• Develop strong relationships with those most affected by the Grenfell Tower fire
• Accurately assess its impact

About Compassion in Dying and the information line service

At Compassion in Dying, we want people to be in control of their end-of-life decisions because no one is better to make them. We support people to make informed decisions, start honest conversations about death and dying with loved ones, and record and revisit their wishes whenever they want to.

Many people tell us they want to be in charge of decisions about their care and treatment, but struggle to access clear information or encounter reluctance to have open conversations about death and dying. Our nurse-led information line exists to change that. We enable people to plan ahead and to be in control of their end-of-life decisions, including in situations where they may no longer be able to make decisions for themselves.

Demand for the service consistently exceeds capacity. We are therefore expanding our clinical team and are looking for two experienced nurses to provide verbal and written information and support that is accurate, clear and practical.

This is an exciting opportunity for a nurse with experience in palliative care and excellent communication skills, able to convey complex information in a straightforward and sensitive way by phone and email. This new permanent role offers the opportunity to contribute to the growth of an expanding information service that delivers direct support and drives improvements in practice.·

Role purpose

·Respond to enquiries to Compassion in Dying’s information service, using clinical knowledge to provide appropriate information and support.

·Promote patient choice and autonomy by enabling people to make informed decisions about their care and treatment, now and in the future, or to advocate for someone close to them.

·Provide specialist information on advance care planning, supporting people to plan ahead and record their wishes for end-of-life care and treatment.

·Contribute to the development of information resources for the public and professionals.

Key responsibilities

Information service

·Respond promptly to enquiries to Compassion in Dying’s information line by phone, email and letter.

·Provide clear, accurate information in plain English.

·Support people to complete advance care planning documents, including Advance Decisions, Advance Statements and with queries about Lasting Powers of Attorney for Health and Welfare.

·Equip people with an understanding of the law and best practice to enable them to advocate for themselves or loved ones in best-interest decision-making meetings.

·Manage casework, including arranging and responding to follow-up calls and emails for people requiring ongoing support.
