Senior Service Charge Analyst

We are seeking an experienced service charge professional to manage complex portfolios, ensuring accurate, compliant and transparent service charge delivery.

About the Role

This is a high accountability role managing a large and complex service charge portfolio. You will take ownership of end to end service charge processes, ensuring accuracy, compliance and clear communication with residents and stakeholders.

Key responsibilities include:

• Managing service charge estimates and actuals across a large scale portfolio
• Analysing financial data, identifying variances and ensuring accurate cost allocation
• Managing service charge deficits and driving improvements in cost recovery
• Interpreting leases and tenancy agreements to ensure correct apportionment
• Ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and regulatory frameworks
• Handling complex queries and complaints from residents and stakeholders
• Supporting tribunal cases with clear, accurate financial information
• Working collaboratively with finance, legal and operational teams to ensure consistency and accuracy

About You

You will bring strong technical knowledge and hands on experience within a service charge environment, alongside the confidence to manage complex portfolios.

Essential skills and experience include:

• Strong knowledge of service charge legislation and regulatory frameworks
• Experience managing service charges end to end within a housing or similar environment
• Solid understanding of financial accounting principles including accruals, VAT and reconciliations
• Advanced Excel skills including pivot tables and lookups
• Experience interpreting leases and applying legislation in practice
• Ability to manage large datasets and complex financial information
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage a range of stakeholders

Lead the growth and direction of Shelter’s New Corporate Partnerships, combining strategic oversight with hands-on pipeline development and team leadership.

About the role

Working closely with the Head of Corporate Partnerships and the Lead for Account Management, you  will help shape the overall direction of the Corporate Partnerships team. This includes income and budget management, role modelling key behaviours, and deputising for the Head of Corporate Partnerships when required.

About you

The Lead - New Corporate Partnerships role will provide daily personnel support to the Senior Manager, Manager and Executive within their pillar assisting with pipeline development and problem solving. The Lead for NCP will manage and cultivate a pipeline of their own whilst also working with the Head of Corporate Partnerships in developing, monitoring and reporting on the Corporate New Partnerships strategy and cross-team decisions

The lead role will help to the drive the corporate teams strategic priorities finding innovative ways to maximise income from corporate prospects and partners. The role combines hands-on fundraising and prospect development, with team leadership around development of plans and budgets. 

The role will require you to deputise for the Head of Corporate Partnerships at times when demands across the teams require this including at external partner events and meetings.

About the team 

The Income Generation Directorate at Shelter comprises of the five departments, delivering a mature fundraising programme that has seen continuous year on year diversity and growth. The directorate generates over £48m gross income each year, of which a high percentage is unrestricted.

The Woodland Trust is looking for an Ancient & Veteran Tree Officer to join our exciting Sherwood’s Living Legends project funded by The National Lottery Heritage Fund. A development grant has been awarded by Heritage Fund to help the Woodland Trust progress the project over 18-months to apply for a 5-year delivery stage grant. If this application is successful, the project will safeguard the future of ancient and veteran trees in Sherwood Forest and reconnect communities with this iconic landscape. This is a fixed term contract for 18-months, with the potential for an extension. 

This role does not come with a company vehicle, however after a 9-month period in-post, we will review vehicle business use to see if the post-holder is reaching the eligibility criteria as stated in our Company Vehicle Policy.  If the post-holder complies with those criteria, with sign off from our Facilities Team, a vehicle will be sourced and provided. Please note that out Company Vehicle Policy is also under review as part of our Job Families and Contract Review project, so the eligibility criteria therein are subject to change in due course.

The Role: 

• Lead the review and consolidation of existing datasets to inform a coherent, landscape-scale strategy for recording and mapping ancient and veteran trees (AVTs) across the Sherwood NCA. 
• Develop and test robust survey methodologies for AVTs, next-generation trees and successional deadwood habitats at scale. 
• Build strong collaborative relationships with project partners, landowners and stakeholders to support the development of the NLHF (National Lottery Heritage Fund) project. 
• Plan and deliver meaningful landowner consultations, ensuring clear communication and high-quality engagement. 
• Shape the project’s technical direction by identifying gaps in current knowledge, proposing innovative survey approaches, and helping define the evidence base for future landscape-scale interventions. 
• Coordinate information flow across partners, ensuring insights, datasets and field findings are shared, aligned and feeding directly into project design. 
• Generate interest and participation in AVT training and wider project initiatives, identifying opportunities for large-scale partnership working. 
• Represent the project at meetings, forums and events, sharing best practice and linking activity with wider Woodland Trust and partner programmes. 

The Candidate: 

• Strong biological recording skills with proven experience surveying ancient and veteran trees and/or associated species. 
• Proficient in GIS mapping and spatial analysis, with the ability to manage, interpret and consolidate complex datasets. 
• Knowledge of AVT ecology, identification, and the threats facing these irreplaceable habitats. 
• Experience advising landowners within woodland conservation, arboriculture or forestry, including familiarity with land management grants and agri-environment schemes. 
• Skilled communicator, confident in written, verbal and public-facing settings, able to represent the organisation professionally. 
• Excellent partnership-building abilities, with a track record of developing productive networks and collaborative relationships. 
• Highly organised, able to plan, prioritise and adapt to changing circumstances while maintaining attention to detail. 
• Full driving licence and ability to travel widely, including to remote sites.

You will be an excellent communicator with strong organisational skills, able to manage multiple relationships and coordinate projects effectively while working collaboratively with colleagues across different teams. An interest in nature, conservation or environmental engagement is important, alongside a genuine passion for supporting people to connect with the natural world.

Experience of developing new participation initiatives, and embedding inclusive practice within programmes, as well as knowledge of evaluation and safeguarding, would be beneficial.

Salary: £26,500 per annum

The charity behind Shout, the UK’s first free, confidential, 24/7 text service for anyone struggling to cope and The Mix.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who wants to join a well established partnership team   in a supporting role. You’ll join a small, friendly team that values curiosity, empathy and initiative. You’ll get hands-on experience across partnership coordination, communication and project management. You’ll have plenty of support and opportunities to grow your confidence along the way.

Key Responsibilities

• Support in the delivery of partnerships that fund and promote Shout and other MHI initiatives.
• Coordinate meetings, update records, track progress, and make sure partners get what they need on time.
• Onboard new commissioned partners, helping them feel supported and informed from day one, maintaining those relationships.
• Create reports, presentations and updates that show the impact of our partnerships and celebrate shared success.
• Work closely with colleagues in Marketing, Data, and Clinical to bring partnership work to life.
• Support our Income Team with other activities and projects relevant to the delivery of partnerships.
• Shadow experienced team members, take on increasing responsibility over time, and contribute ideas to improve ways of working. 

Person Specification

Essential Criteria

• Demonstrable experience working in a busy, fast-paced team environment, working on multiple priorities and meeting deadlines.
• Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage competing tasks effectively.
• Confident communicator, both written and verbal, with the ability to build positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• Experience using CRM systems and standard office software (e.g. Salesforce or Google Workspace), with the ability to learn new systems quickly.
• A proactive and self-motivated approach, with enthusiasm for identifying and developing new partnership opportunities.
• Willingness to learn and grow within a partnerships/fundraising environment.
• A genuine passion for mental health and alignment with our organisational values and mission.
• Ability to work independently while contributing positively to team objectives.
• Strong problem-solving skills and a solutions-focused mindset.
• Educated to A-level (or equivalent) as a minimum.

Desirable Criteria

• Experience working in the non-profit or charity sector.
• Experience in partnerships, fundraising, account management, or business development.
• Experience supporting income targets or working towards KPIs.
• Familiarity with digital marketing, campaign promotion, or stakeholder engagement.
• Understanding of safeguarding and data protection principles within a charitable context.
• Interest in mental health advocacy or previous experience in a mental health-related role.
