Anna Freud is seeking a part-time, 7 hours per week Senior Practice Tutor to join our world-leading mental health charity for children, young people and their families. What you’ll do

As the Senior Practice Tutor – Pg Dip Senior Wellbeing Practitioner, you will support the delivery and ongoing development of the SWP programme, helping trainee practitioners strengthen their clinical skills through high-quality teaching, practice-based learning, assessment and academic support.

  • As the Senior Practice Tutor,  your role will be to Support the development and delivery of Year 1 teaching, particularly practical and skills-based workshops.
  • You will facilitate small-group sessions where trainees develop their clinical skills through discussion and application of case material.
  • You will mark assignments in line with UCL requirements and participate in calibration to ensure consistent assessment and feedback.
  • You will provide personal academic tutoring, respond to trainee queries, monitor progress and help ensure an inclusive and supportive learning experience.
  • As the Senior Practice Tutor you will work closely with the Programme Director, Course Tutors and wider programme team to maintain and develop the quality of the programme.

What you’ll bring

You will be an experienced mental health professional with strong clinical expertise in working with children, young people and families, alongside experience of teaching, supervision and supporting learners within a postgraduate or professional training environment.

  • You must hold a recognised qualification in a core mental health profession, with clinical training in evidence-based therapies for children and young people.
  • You will have extensive experience using CBT-informed approaches with children, young people and families, including neurodivergent young people, within CAMHS or a similar setting.
  • As the Senior Practice Tutor you will have experience providing group supervision or facilitating reflective spaces for professionals working in children and young people’s mental health and wellbeing services.
  • You will have experience teaching or training adults, alongside experience of assessing and marking coursework.
  • You must be able to work flexibly within a multidisciplinary team, support university students and colleagues, manage competing priorities and contribute to an inclusive learning environment.

Hours: 7 hours a week. Must be available to work on Thursdays during term-time

Salary: £53,570 FTE per annum, plus 6% contributory pension scheme

Location: Hybrid (a mixture of home/onsite working): staff are working onsite for at least 20% of their working hours at our London site (4-8 Rodney Street, London N1 9JH)
