Notting Hill Prep (NHP) is a popular co-educational school situated a stone's throw from Portobello Road in West London, at the heart of a diverse and vibrant local community.

The NHP Foundation is a registered charity established in 2009 and sits at the heart of the School's commitment to its community. The Foundation supports two important areas of work: transformational bursaries and Radius, the School's community partnerships programme.

About the role

We are seeking an exceptional, outward-facing Director of the NHP Foundation to lead the Foundation's fundraising, donor engagement and external relationships.

This is a highly relationship-led role for someone who is warm, persuasive, energetic and credible, with the ability to build trust and inspire people to support the Foundation's work.

You will build relationships with current and former parents, alumni, donors, prospective supporters and community partners, while working closely with the Head, Trustees and Parents' Association to identify opportunities and develop the Foundation.

This is deliberately not a conventional desk-based role. Your time will be focused where you can have the greatest impact, including meeting donors and prospective supporters, developing partnerships and attending selected School, Foundation and community events.

You will be supported by a dedicated Foundation Administrator, allowing you to focus on relationships, strategy and income generation.

This is a part time role working 18 hours per week averaged across the year, with flexibility around key meetings, donor conversations and occasional evening or weekend events.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the development and delivery of the Foundation's fundraising and donor engagement strategy.
• Build and nurture long-term relationships with parents, alumni, donors and prospective supporters.
• Identify opportunities for major gifts, regular giving, sponsorship, trusts, foundations and other income streams.
• Develop effective cultivation and stewardship plans for key supporters.
• Act as an ambassador for the Foundation within the School community and externally.
• Work closely with the Head, Trustees and Parents' Association to turn opportunities into action.
• Champion the Foundation's bursary programme and Radius community partnerships.
• Help communicate the impact of the Foundation's work through donor communications, events and impact stories.

About you

You will have outstanding interpersonal skills, with the warmth, credibility and confidence to build relationships with a wide range of people.

We are looking for someone with:

• Experience in fundraising, development, philanthropy, business development or another relationship-led environment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• The ability to identify opportunities and turn relationships into action.
• Strategic thinking, initiative and an entrepreneurial approach.
• High levels of discretion, integrity and sound judgement.
• The ability to work independently within a flexible working pattern.
• A genuine commitment to the aims of the NHP Foundation and to safeguarding children.

Experience of fundraising in education, charities or community organisations, or of working with major donors, trusts and foundations, alumni or trustees, would be advantageous.
