You will have a relevant careers advice and guidance qualification, and have experience of delivering careers advice and guidance. Salary
 

The salary for this role is £77,919 per annum and we operate a hybrid working policy of a minimum of 2 days per week in the office.

About the role

In this role, you'll support and deliver fundraising activity across multiple income streams, with a particular focus on developing and growing income from legacies, corporate partnerships and trusts.

You'll build and manage relationships with prospective and existing supporters, develop high-quality applications and proposals, and contribute to effective supporter stewardship and engagement. As a Trainee Floating Support Worker, you will travel across London to meet clients in their homes and communities, tackling housing issues, supporting health and wellbeing, and helping them achieve personal goals. The work is varied, fast-paced and deeply rewarding, with every shift – whether early mornings, late evenings, weekends or bank holidays – bringing the chance to see real change happen.

In return, you will be part of a comprehensive and engaging Trainee Programme, with support around you from day one. You will learn through trainee-specific workshops, formal training, reflective practice, service visits and hands-on experience alongside knowledgeable colleagues across SHP. The Woodland Trust is looking for a Senior Legacy Officer to support the strategic objectives of the Legacy Income Management Team by administering and managing legacies left to the Woodland Trust, ensuring that all legacy income is secured, protected and maximised. 

The Role:
•    Manage a complex caseload of legacy files, including pecuniary, residuary, specific gifts, and life interest trusts, protecting income where legal challenges arise.
•    Recruit, line manage, and mentor the Legacy Assistant, providing ongoing support and guidance.
•    Maximise legacy income through proactive case management and strategic decision-making.
•    Deputise for the Legacy Income Manager and support team leadership and mentoring.
•    Provide legal and advisory support on legacy-related matters to internal stakeholders.
•    Monitor legacy notifications and income, supporting forecasting, reporting, and audit requirements.
•    Collaborate with fundraising teams to enhance legacy journeys and secure future pledges.
•    Contribute to policy development, process improvements, and data quality initiatives.
•    This is a hybrid position with a mix of home working, and from our head office in Grantham, Lincolnshire. Head office attendance would be required no more than once a month on average. Occasional travel to other offices and remote locations may also be required.

The Candidate:
•    Experience in legacy management or administration and/or Wills, Probate and Trust law.
•    Background working in a charity legacy management team.
•    Skilled in case management systems (ideally First Class 4) and Microsoft Office.
•    Proven ability to manage residuary estates, probate disputes, and complex caseloads.
•    Experience managing, mentoring, and advising colleagues.
•    Strong stakeholder relationship-building skills across internal and external teams.
•    Knowledge of probate, tax, charity, and data protection law relating to estate administration.
•    Qualified in legacy administration (e.g. ILM Certificate in Charity Legacy Administration) and/or other legal qualifications.

KEY DELIVERABLES

• You will always ensure the safety and wellbeing of clients in the service, including using Safeguarding and emergency alert procedures as applicable.

• You will advise all prospective or new tenants/residents of their rights and responsibilities under their tenancy/license agreement.

• You will be responsible for ensuring that repairs are undertaken to a high standard, within an appropriate time frame and represent value for money.

• You will be responsible for ensuring that accommodation units are well maintained in accordance with the management agreement and for bringing them quickly into management to minimize void loss.

• You will prepare short reports on arrears, voids, and repairs for the service manager, Depaul’s central services and commissioner meetings as required.

• You will be responsible for ensuring that all common parts and grounds of Depaul managed properties are in good maintenance order and adhere to Depaul Health and Safety requirements.

• You will be responsible for maintaining Health and Safety standards in the premises and a point of information for clients regarding Health and Safety.

• You will facilitate the fair allocation of letting accommodation in accordance with Depaul’s Policy and Procedures.

• You will work with the keyworkers and clients to collect rents and service charges and hold responsibility for the accurate reporting of rental income, voids and allocations to Depaul’s finance team.

• You will liaise with local Housing Benefit Teams, Social Service Departments or other authorities regarding individual rental income claims.

• You will work proactively with keyworkers and clients to develop personal payment plans to support clients not to incur rental debt.

• You will be the first point of contact for landlord queries and contractors.

• You will support and facilitate the work of the volunteers who add value to the work that we do.

About the role

This role is one of three Senior Analytical Manager roles in the Analysis and Modelling team. You will work closely with the other Senior Analytical Managers, and other senior staff across the Foundation.
