Job description

We’re looking for an enthusiastic and motivated person who can help us grow our fundraising and generate vital income to support our work with unpaid carers across County Durham and Darlington.

This is a varied role where you’ll lead on developing fundraising opportunities, from researching trusts and foundations and preparing high-quality funding applications, to building relationships with local businesses, community groups and supporters.

About the role

You’ll work with colleagues across the organisation to identify funding opportunities and help us demonstrate the difference our services make to carers.

Your work will include:

  • Researching trusts, foundations and other funding opportunities
  • Preparing funding applications, proposals and expressions of interest
  • Developing community fundraising and individual giving
  • Building relationships with local businesses, community groups and supporters
  • Developing corporate partnerships, sponsorship and Charity of the Year opportunities
  • Supporting local people and groups who want to fundraise for us
  • Preparing reports for funders and helping us demonstrate the impact of their support

We’re looking for someone with experience in fundraising, business development, grant applications or income generation, alongside strong written communication and relationship-building skills.

Most importantly, we’re looking for someone who is enthusiastic, proactive and shares our commitment to improving the lives of unpaid carers.
