Role Purpose
GDI Hub CIC is seeking an experienced PA/ Team Assistant to provide high-level support to its CEO and Academic Director as well as support the wider team.
The successful candidate will enable the CEO and Academic Director to be more effective by providing proactive administrative, communication, and operational support. The role will act as a key coordination point across the organisation, ensuring priorities are managed, diaries are coordinated, and that the CEO and Academic Director’s time is used strategically.
In addition, the candidate will also support the wider GDI Hub CIC team, particularly Operations, Comms and Project Delivery.
Across all elements of the role, the successful candidate will need to work with multiple colleagues and balance competing priorities. Responsibilities will include diary and time management, handling written communication, arranging national and international travel and logistics, event coordination, administrative support, and meeting and document preparation. This role will work closely with members of the GDI Hub team, with some interactions with external partners, collaborators and stakeholders.
We are looking for a candidate with strong organisation, administrative and communication skills. The ability to work in a changing environment is essential, as is a coordinated approach and willingness to take on new tasks.
Successful candidates will need to be proactive and organised with excellent attention to detail.

Responsibilities
Personal assistant
- Manage complex calendars, scheduling internal and external meetings and setting reminders
- Prioritise appointments and resolve scheduling conflicts where these arise
- Ensure the CEO/Academic Directors time is used efficiently and plan for commitments in advance
- Track director credit/debit card spending and supply timely copies of receipts as required
- Collate/ process expense claims
- Monitor and manage inbox as required
- Point of contact for internal and external stakeholders
Travel & Logistics
- Arrange international travel, accommodation, transport and itineraries for both Directors and project staff
- Arrange travel visas for Directors
- Manage travel alterations and resolve issues promptly
Administrative Support
- Implement and maintain procedures/ administrative systems
- Support CEO/Director with line-management administration (1:1s, objective setting etc)
- Provide basic budget tracking and administration
- Maintain organised filing systems
- Draft and prepare routine correspondence
- Prepare presentations and documents
- Maintain accurate records and contact databases
- Provide IT support and troubleshooting where needed
Meeting & Document Preparation
- Assist CEO/Director with meeting prep as required
- Prepare agendas and collate meeting papers
- Take and distribute meeting notes/minutes where required
- Track actions and follow up on outstanding items
Team Assistant
- Process staff travel claims for payment, checking receipts and sign off from line managers
- Logistical support for UK based events inc. away days for venues, travel, materials
- Logistical support for project events and workshops (UK & overseas)
- Ad-hoc diary coordination for group events
- Contract management support; including due diligence info and evidence gathering
- Support Comms and other teams as required

Experience and Qualifications
The successful candidate is expected to demonstrate the following criteria:

- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to liaise comfortably with all levels of staff external individuals

We are looking for an experienced Business and Human Rights Manager to join our committed team as a maternity cover, who will hit the ground running.
The role is diverse including developing and delivering training and services with a variety of businesses, with opportunities to generate new funding to drive impact and sustainability, to project manage a collaborative programme and to try out new ideas. You will work remotely, but in close cooperation with the Co-CEO, Head of Business Development, and rest of our committed team across the world.
Key tasks and responsibilities:
- You will deliver interactive training workshops and deliver premium quality services to businesses to support them to embed responsible recruitment and fair work and tackle modern slavery in their operations and supply chains.
- You will be responsible for ensuring high quality technical content across our organisation and sharing technical insights internally and externally.
- You will manage and grow Stronger Together’s business relations in a variety of sectors, both in the UK and globally to drive impact and generate funding.
- You will project manage client projects from start to finish and, dependent on candidate experience, manage our UK Construction and Property collaborative programme.

Who you are:
- An experienced professional with an in-depth understanding of and subject matter expertise on working with businesses on responsible recruitment, ethical labour practices and modern slavery, and significant experience in business engagement/developing and managing senior management corporate sponsor relations (min. 5 years’ experience)
- An excellent trainer, with experience of developing and delivering training to businesses
- The ideal candidate should have experience in a business development role, a track record in building and developing business relations, and strong experience of giving presentations, delivering pitches and closing deals
- Experienced in maintaining and developing corporate sponsor relations including writing client and grant proposals
- A strong project manager and great organiser, with the ability to set and meet demanding targets and deadlines, and to hold others accountable to those
- A professional who has worked with or within the construction, manufacturing, consumer goods, apparel, finance or care sector on responsible business behaviour
- An excellent communicator, both verbally and in writing, with experience of developing and building new successful working relationships with a range of stakeholders, as well as confidence in representing the organisation professionally at a variety of events
- A motivated and enthusiastic worker, able to work independently and with remote colleagues/stakeholders
- Someone with a good eye for detail, whilst retaining sight of the bigger picture.
- Knowledge of social compliance audit and certification methodologies and audit quality management would be a bonus.
- UK-based with eligibility to work in the UK.

Preventing cancer, saving lives
Are you looking for an exciting opportunity to contribute to international research funding programmes and gain insight into how cancer prevention research is supported and delivered?
We are seeking a Research Funding Officer (Operations) to support the delivery of our research funding programmes, with a particular focus on the integration of the American Institute for Cancer Research (AICR) grant programme into the WCRF International portfolio. This is a fixed-term role for 18 months.
In this role, you will support the operational delivery of WCRF International’s grant programmes across both pre-award and post-award activities. You will contribute to the administration of grant calls, respond to applicant queries, process applications, support peer review and Panel meetings, and help maintain and develop our grant management system. You will also track research outputs, maintain grant records and contribute to internal reporting and analysis.
You will have a relevant scientific background (e.g. nutrition, public health, cancer biology or a related discipline), with experience working in a research or administrative environment (ideally within academia or research management).You will have a strong analytical mindset and be comfortable working with data, systems and tracking processes, and be highly organised, with excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously. Strong communication skills and confidence interacting with a range of stakeholders is key as is being proactive, adaptable and able to work as part of a small, collaborative team.
This role offers an excellent opportunity for someone with strong organisational and analytical skills who enjoys working with data and complex processes. The postholder will gain a unique insight into the full research funding lifecycle, supporting both the pre-award and post-award stages of international grant programmes. Working closely with experienced colleagues across the Research Funding team, the successful candidate will develop a strong understanding of how research funding programmes are designed, delivered and monitored, while applying their scientific knowledge to real-world research projects. The role provides valuable experience in grant management, research administration and data analysis, offering a strong foundation for a future career in research funding and management, the charity or policy sector, or academic research.
