Coram is the UK’s oldest children’s charity founded by Thomas Coram in London helping vulnerable children and young people since 1739. One of the nine members of the Coram group, Coram Children’s Legal Centre (CCLC) is the UK’s specialist centre for children’s rights in education, immigration, community care and family law, and provides significant international legal systems consultancy. The centre is located on the Coram Campus in central London with a base in Colchester. We champion access to justice through information and advice, legal practice and representation, policy and strategic litigation. Our Legal Practice Unit provides advice and representation primarily under legal aid contract. Our Policy and Practice Change team promotes practice change through training and capacity building to professionals and secures systems change through research, policy and advocacy.

About the role

This role will provide leadership and management for CCLC particularly focused on the Legal Practice Unit’s legal aid billing operations. Through systematic and efficient management, the post-holder will play a pivotal role in CCLC’s financial and operational sustainability. The role will be accountable for maximising the unit’s legal aid billing in controlled work, certificated work and inter partes costs and will hold responsibility for the unit’s billing systems. It will also be responsible for private fees billing. The post-holder will oversee the smooth running of legal aid billing including through line management of the billing team. The post-holder will work very closely with legal, operations and administrative staff. The role will act as a key point of contact for a range of internal and external stakeholders including Coram’s central finance team who will support the role with grant fund management and overall accounting functions for CCLC. The post-holder will support the Managing Director of Legal Practice and Children’s Rights and department heads in the successful maintenance of our relationship with the Legal Aid Agency. Where appropriate they will be deputising for the Managing Director on legal aid and financial matters.

The role would suit a highly organised and efficient legal aid lawyer, or a finance or billing professional with solid experience of legal practice and a deep understanding of the challenges of legal aid. Whilst candidates with direct experience of legal billing (and more specifically civil legal aid billing) are welcomed, we recognise that this is a highly specialised and niche field. As such, this role could suit a highly experienced solicitor who appreciates the important role developing sustainable businesses plays in ensuring access to justice and who therefore wishes to move into practice and financial management. They will need an aptitude for processing large amounts of data, developing and managing spreadsheets and improving organisational systems. However, they will be well supported through training, an enthusiastic and competent junior billing team, the central finance team and an outsourced legal cashiering company, as well as a friendly and collaborative management team including the Managing Director and the Heads of Education Law, Community Care Law and Immigration and Asylum Law.

This is a largely office-based role in order to fully provide support to the billing team. However, some remote / hybrid working may be possible depending the experience of the candidate after the initial settling in period and there will be flexibility over how the three days will be spread across the week (within working hours). The team are mostly based in the London office and with one billing team member in Colchester so the post holder may require some occasional travel.

This is a practical, hands-on leadership role at the heart of Richmond CVS’s work with local charities and community groups. The postholder will lead our support to voluntary, community and social enterprise (VCSE) organisations across the borough – helping them to grow stronger and more sustainable.

The main focus of the role is to strengthen the fundraising skills and income generation of local organisations, alongside providing high-quality advice on governance, planning and strategy. The role requires curiosity, creativity and strong problem-solving skills to help organisations find practical solutions to real-world challenges.

Richmond CVS already works with a range of experienced consultants and trainers and has an established suite of training resources. The postholder is not expected to be an expert in every aspect of charity management. A key part of the role is to coordinate and facilitate this support, drawing on specialist expertise where needed, while providing direct advice particularly in relation to fundraising and the fundamentals of good governance.

Working with a small, passionate team, you will deliver support, facilitate learning and manage projects that make a real difference to grassroots groups.

Key Responsibilities

Organisational Support

The Head of Trusts and Foundations is a leadership role within our Key Relationships team.  You will provide strategic direction and drive significant growth in income from charitable trusts and foundations.  This is a chance to lead a critical area of our fundraising mix, and create a step-change in activities and outcomes to increase the number and longevity of donors giving at the six and seven-figure grant level.  You will have the support of a small team as well as a well-developed operations unit, to drive our programme forward.

It is therefore essential that you bring a proven and successful track record of securing gifts from trusts and foundations at the six-figure level or more, as well as managing people and getting the best out of them.  Your creativity and highly developed relationship building skills and analytical abilities have underpinned your success so far, and you enjoy working in lock-step with colleagues to craft and convey compelling stories and cases to secure philanthropic support.  To be a successful leader in our Key Relationships team will require resilience, adaptability, and solutions-focussed approach.

Purpose of the IT / AV Technician role:

The Royal Air Force Museum is looking for a dynamic and proactive IT/AV Technician who likes to take the initiative to join a busy and well-established IT department, acting as a first point of contact for our users.

You will be working on anything from Cyber Security and Networking to Digital Gallery interactive repairs and meeting room Audio Visual, as well as traditional desktop support. The role can be very hands-on at times, but with elements of remote support, troubleshooting and investigation. You must be able to work independently, and take the initiative, but also be a team player.

As a IT / AV Technician, you will have a variety of roles which will include:

• To provide 1st line support for the Museum’s Information Technology and Audio-Visual systems through performance of the job functions detailed below.
• Supporting all IT hardware, software & telephony, including looking after the incoming support tickets, especially in London but also covering Midlands and Stafford sites as needed
• Responsible for setting up new starters' IT profiles, deleting leavers' IT profiles and making any changes to staff profiles in a timely manner
• Liaising with contractors, especially in relation to the managed printers contract, specifically for maintaining consumables on site
• Managing the IT Department’s supply of IT equipment, especially laptops and desktops, to new users, replacements, and repairs in accordance with the supplied documentation. Also managing the storage areas and ensuring that recycling, including Waste Electrical recycling, is routinely performed
• Provide training as requested and in some semi-formal sessions on the use of IT equipment
• Look after the status and configuration of shared computers in the meeting rooms
• Support the IT Team’s Cyber-Security policy by working with the vulnerability scanner and resolving issues where possible, with the support of the team

The successful candidate must have experience with 1st- and some 2nd-line IT and AV support in a hands-on environment.

There will be opportunities to develop your skills and knowledge working as part of a small, friendly and supportive team, across a wide range of competencies, and the opportunity to use a wide variety of systems.

You will also get involved with new projects (not just IT) within a varied role offering vital support to the business within a unique heritage environment.

Grosvenor Chapel is a Chapel of Ease in the Ecclesiastical Parish of St George’s Hanover Square.

Located on South Audley Street in the heart of what is fondly referred to as the ‘Village of Mayfair’, the Chapel has been serving the community of Mayfair and beyond for almost three hundred years.

Over the last three years the Chapel has been going through a period of transition, renewal and growth. We currently have a modest annual income, which comes from regular giving, occasional donations, and the hiring out of our Chapel rooms and car bays, and are seeking an experienced Finance Officer to help with the day-to-day management of the Chapel’s finances.

Whilst some tasks are covered by existing staff, the Finance Officer will have responsibility for overseeing the Chapel’s accounting processes, monitoring income and expenditure, managing accounts payable and accounts receivable, overseeing service cash collections and banking, completing the monthly reconciliations and preparation of financial reports, helping with any VAT and quarterly gift aid returns. The role will also be required to support the annual budgeting process, year-end audit and preparation of statutory accounts.

Most of the work will be expected to be completed remotely, with attendance in person on site at least once a month for meetings and other activities.

Guts UK is the only charity that covers the digestive system from top to tail, including the gut, the liver and the pancreas. The charity focuses particularly on the conditions that have no other specific charity or voice - conditions that are underserved, such as pancreatitis, diverticular disease, irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), childhood gut and liver disease, and digestive cancers. With their mission being to improve the lives of the millions of people affected by digestive conditions, they are looking for their first Corporate Partnerships and Philanthropy Manager to help them reach that goal.

The Corporate Partnerships and Philanthropy Manager is responsible for developing and implementing plans to maximise income from corporate partners and high net worth individuals with the propensity to donate significant sums. There is huge scope to develop both income streams at Guts UK, as this is the first dedicated position covering these income streams.

About this job

The MS Society has made a huge investment in technology to implement a new CRM system to enable us to improve in use of our data and to streamline contact with the MS Community, including Services, Fundraising and directed communications. This is the Organisation’s key, central system.

90% of all funding for the charity is processed through the CRM system including Gift Aid, regular giving and special events, Direct Debits. This role is critical and responsible for the end-to-end processes working and, therefore, the income being processed and collected in a timely fashion.

The role will be part of a CRM team responsible for managing and supporting functionality and data integrity within the CRM system. The role is also responsible for managing key internal and external relationships at all levels.

The role is also responsible for delivering the 1st, 2nd line support of the CRM system as well as building import templates, workflows and that data within is clean, accessible and available.

The successful candidate is expected to be an expert in their field.

The volunteer officer will report to the volunteer manager.
