About the role
As Awards Finance Analyst, you will play a vital role in ensuring the integrity of award data, timely donor audit financial compliance, and donor confidence. Reporting to the Awards Finance Manager and working alongside 2 other Awards Finance Analysts, you'll be supporting the management of around 400 active awards, ensuring accurate financial reporting, robust reconciliations and compliance with donor and audit requirements.
This is a varied role that combines award management knowledge with strong financial analysis and controls. You will work closely with finance, award management and programme colleagues, supporting donor audits, validating donor reports, tracking award income and debt, and helping drive process improvements and automation across the Awards Finance function.

About the role
The Finance Manager will ensure the smooth, accurate, and compliant day-to-day financial operations of THS. You will oversee transactional processing, payroll, local group accounting, management of our partner charity accounts, creating monthly management reports and year-end audit preparation.

Hope for the Young removes the obstacles to young refugees and sanctuary-seekers’ education and wellbeing through mentoring, advocacy, and financial support.
The Mentoring Programme supports young refugees and sanctuary-seekers aged 16-25 by matching them with trained volunteer mentors who provide weekly one-to-one support tailored to the young people's needs. Hope for the Young is looking for an experienced and proactive Head of Finance and Operations to lead the smooth running of our finance, systems, HR and office functions. This is a hands-on role at the heart of a small, ambitious charity, giving you the opportunity to shape how we operate as we grow our support for young refugees and sanctuary-seekers across London.

The successful candidate will bring substantial executive leadership experience, ideally gained within a complex, purpose-led or internationally operating organisation. The role:
This role is specifically responsible for delivery of appropriate budget reporting that have been the result of future-focussed, strategic and inclusive business partnering relationships across Shakespeare’s Globe between budget holders and the Finance Business Partner team.
This team needs to be led by someone who understands where the budget holders are, understand their fears and concerns, understand the reasons behind their previous decisions, and hold them to account whilst inspiring them to work differently to achieve the financial budgeting. The post holder will be responsible for the following:
Finance
Maintain appropriate and comprehensive finance and accounting policies and procedures including payment authorisations, cash management etc.
Provide clear and accurate financial information, budgets and forecasts to the trustees, CEO fundraising team and other departments as required.
Manage strategic relationship with key partner organisations such as bookkeepers/auditors/payroll providers/banks etc.
Overall responsibility, with support from the external bookkeeper and internal staff, for:
Ensuring accurate recording and maintenance of finance data, including accurate classification of income.
Ensuring balance sheet and bank is reconciled and reviewed monthly.
Preparing and developing monthly Management Accounts.
Oversee preparation of the annual financial statements and manage the external audit.
Oversee payroll and pension process, engaging with external payroll support, including administering monthly payroll and fortnightly payroll during the Winter Night Shelter season.
Legal and compliance
Overall responsibility for compliance with all legislation / codes.
Ensure Companies House, Charity Commission, HMRC and Pensions Regulator requirements
are met in a timely fashion.
Risk management

Office Management

Support the CEO and colleagues in setting the strategic direction for Glass Door.

Governance
Manage the Resources Committee and Finance Committee on behalf of the trustees.
Assist in managing the Board of Trustees e.g. co-ordinate diaries, set dates, drafting and circulating agendas and papers.
Organise the Annual General Meeting, including drafting papers and corresponding with members.
Co-ordinate the annual policy review process for Finance & Resources (finance, legal, HR, data, governance) and Fundraising & Communications (fundraising, communications).
