Victim Support is seeking a committed and detail-focused Team Leader to help coordinate and maintain excellent support for witnesses within the busy Court environment at Staines Magistrates Court. You will play a vital role in supporting the Team Leader, volunteers, and wider service ensuring witnesses receive timely, compassionate, and effective support throughout their justice journey.

  About you
  
  With a deep understanding of the policy-making and the political process in Scotland, ideally with some knowledge of health policy and public health policy, you’ll have an extensive understanding of parliamentary procedure and government in Scotland, as well as an understanding of public policy and how it’s developed.
  
  You’ll have a proven track record of building and nurturing excellent relationships and exerting influence over external stakeholder’s agendas. You’ll also have previous 
  experience of having run or managed successful policy and/or public affairs work at a senior level, ensuring expectations, responsibilities and the purpose and vision for the team are clear and delivered.
  
  With experience of leading stakeholder relations in a high profile and/or complex organisation. You’ll also have the following skills and experience:

  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, able to present with credibility and gravitas to external audiences.
  • Excellent writing skills, able to provide concise written and oral briefings on complex issues, often at short notice.
  • Ability to work calmly, quickly and accurately under pressure of tight deadlines. 
  • Proven leadership skills whilst being a team player.
  • Ability to develop and implement strategies and plans, ensuring that initiatives and activities are organised, prioritised and delivered successfully.
  • Excellent time management and organisation skills.

  Working arrangements
  
  Please note this is a fixed term contract for 18 months.
  
  This is a hybrid role, where your work will be split between your home and at least one day per week, on average, in our Edinburgh Office. This may vary from time to time, so you will need to work in a flexible way to unlock your best work for our cause.
  
  The work will require some evening and weekend work as well as travel that may require overnight stays. There will also be an opportunity to visit BHF offices in Belfast, Cardiff and London.

THE ROLE  

Role Overview 

The Fundraising Executive (Supporter Care) plays a vital role in delivering an excellent supporter experience for our client Trinity. Often the first point of contact for supporters, the role is central to building trust, ensuring accuracy, and reinforcing positive relationships through timely, professional, and warm communication. 

Working as part of Compton Fundraising’s Supporter Care team, you will ensure that all donations are processed accurately, donors are thanked appropriately, and enquiries are handled efficiently across phone, email, and post. You will also support the wider fundraising team across multiple income streams, contributing at every stage of the fundraising cycle from planning and delivery through to income processing and stewardship.  

Key Responsibilities 

The successful candidate will be expected to: 

• Process income accurately and securely, including cash, cheques, credit/debit cards, CAF donations, and online donations via platforms such as GoCardless, JustGiving, Stripe and Enthuse. 
• Ensure donors are thanked promptly and appropriately, liaising with Fundraising Managers as required to deliver a high quality stewardship experience. 
• Carry out bank statement reconciliation, including the processing of standing orders, direct debits, online donations and legacies. 
• Act as a first point of contact for the Fundraising Team by:
  • Answering incoming telephone calls 
  • Responding to general email enquiries while maintaining Trinity’s clear tone of voice and communication style. 
• Maintain accurate and up to date supporter records on the fundraising database, ensuring donor data, consent and Gift Aid information are recorded correctly. 
• Work collaboratively with the wider Fundraising team, providing support across fundraising activities and income streams as required. 
• Support and attend fundraising events, with occasional evening or weekend work. 
• Work primarily office based, with some hybrid working days. 

Experience, Knowledge and Skills 

We are looking for someone who brings both professionalism and warmth to supporter care. You will ideally demonstrate: 

• A genuine enthusiasm for representing a charity with integrity, professionalism, and authenticity. 
• A passion for working as part of a team to deliver results that enable a charity to achieve its charitable objectives. 
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to adapt tone appropriately. 
• Strong attention to detail, particularly when processing income and handling financial data securely. 
• Experience delivering excellent supporter care or customer service, either in a charitable or commercial setting. 
• Proven organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks accurately and efficiently. 
• Experience using a CRM or fundraising database, ideally Beacon, to manage donor and client records. 
• A good understanding of the importance of accurate data entry, especially in relation to consent and Gift Aid. 
• Some knowledge of GDPR and data protection regulations governing donor communications and data management.

About the Project
This innovative new project will create opportunities for people who are often excluded from heritage and community spaces. Working in partnership with the National Trust at Aberdulais, the project will:

• Recruit, train and support new volunteers using our lived experience peer-led model

• Increase access to heritage and nature, improving wellbeing

About this key role
You will support the delivery of community engagement activities and help recruit, train and support volunteers at the Aberdulais Community Heritage Hub. Working as part of a small, supportive team, you will play a hands-on role in helping individuals build confidence, develop skills and progress into volunteering opportunities.

You will:

• Support the recruitment and onboarding of volunteers
• Help deliver heritage training sessions and develop learning resources
• Provide one-to-one and group support to volunteers
• Assist with the planning and delivery of community events and activities
• Promote the project and support outreach and engagement
• Maintain accurate records and contribute to monitoring and reporting
• Work with partners and referral organisations to identify and support participants
• Support volunteers to progress into further opportunities

As a Senior Residential Children & Young People Worker you will, on a rota basis, undertake the following:

• 3 on 4 off pattern across the year, with rotas completed at least one month in advance.
• Sleep ins - approximately 2 per month with an additional payment of approximately £68/sleep,
• Waking nights (approximately 2 per month)
• Opportunities to complete additional hours at an enhanced rate of pay.
• Some weekend working, on a rota basis
• Some bank holiday working – enhanced rates of pay for bank holiday working.

Designated days off are given following sleep ins and waking nights to promote wellbeing and recovery.

Your role:

• Engage with and support children in all aspects of their lives, attending to their practical, physical, and emotional needs, whilst safeguarding each young person at all times.
• Support allocated keyworkers to ensure all information pertinent to the child's everyday life is completed and collated, to demonstrate the journey of the child whilst residing at the home.
• Provide practice based supervision to our As & When (bank) workers, liaising with managers to ensure continuity of care, Continued Professional Development and regulatory compliance.
• On a rota basis you will support the management team to provide out of hours on call cover, for which you will receive an additional payment.
• On a rota basis, you will also share the responsibility (alongside other SRCYW) of being allocated as shift leader; ensuring each day is purposeful and coordinated, enhancing opportunities for positive achievements and outcomes for the children.
• Support children to engage in education and enhance their social opportunities by accessing hobbies & activities in the home and in the community.
