• Excellent working knowledge and application of best practices around management, control, and monitoring of server infrastructure and virtualisation technologies, especially Microsoft Hyper-V server
• Strong hands-on experience in networking, routing and switching in a multi-site environment
• Excellent working knowledge and application of: Firewalls, Internet VPN's remote implementation, troubleshooting, and problem resolution
• Experience of MS Cloud Services – Azure, Microsoft 365

Ataxia UK is in an exciting phase of expansion in its Fundraising activity, specifically regarding investment in a Philanthropy function with a dedicated member of staff. In the past, High Net Worth Individuals (HNWI) have been managed reactively by the CEO and other Fundraising staff as opportunities have arisen. Ataxia UK (AUK) now wants to make a step change, in response to identified potential within the current fundraising landscape, towards strategic management of a pipeline of HNWI. The Role

The Fundraising Manager will play a pivotal role in developing and implementing an ambitious fundraising strategy, with a strong focus on corporate partnerships and trusts.

Working closely with the Director, Deputy Director, Finance and Grants Manager and Communications and Digital Marketing Manager, you will drive forward fundraising targets, cultivate new opportunities, and consolidate existing partnerships. This role requires both strategic leadership and hands-on delivery, ensuring our fundraising approach is robust, ethical, and aligned with our values.

Key Responsibilities

 1. Strategy Development and Income Generation

● Develop and deliver a comprehensive fundraising strategy for the charity (with a strong but not exclusive focus on corporate partnerships),  aligned with the charity’s 5-year strategic plan.

● Research, identify, and build a pipeline of new funding opportunities to diversify and expand income streams, such as corporate partners, trusts and foundations,  high net worth individuals and individual giving.

● Prepare due diligence checks on potential new funding opportunities to be presented to the board / senior management.

● Develop compelling cases for support and tailored proposals to secure significant income from corporate partners primarily.

2. Systems and Process Improvement

● Establish and implement new systems for organising, stewarding, and monitoring corporate funders, ensuring efficiency and compliance.

● Introduce clear processes for donor stewardship, including trackers, reporting templates and potentially a new CRM system. 

● Ensure all fundraising activities comply with fundraising regulations, data protection requirements, and ethical fundraising principles.

3. Relationship Management and Stewardship

● Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with current and prospective corporate funders through effective stewardship and engagement.

● Work collaboratively with colleagues to deliver excellent relationship management for corporate partners.

● Work with the Communications and Marketing Manager to maximise fundraising campaigns such as the Big Give. 

4. Events and Engagement

● Lead on the planning and delivery of a flagship summer event designed to attract funders, with the aim of securing new partnerships and long-term support.

● Collaborate with colleagues to ensure the event is well-promoted, impactful, and aligned with the charity’s mission.

● Organise and attend meetings, presentations, and other events to engage with funders and promote the charity’s work. 

5. Reporting and Evaluation

● Monitor and report on fundraising income targets, maintaining accurate records of all funders and partnerships.

● Working with the relevant programmes teams, provide regular impact reports to funders, demonstrating the outcomes of their support.

● Evaluate the success of fundraising initiatives and identify areas for improvement.

6. Team Collaboration

● Work collaboratively across the team to develop funding proposals and case studies.

● Work closely with the Communications and Digital Fundraising Manager to develop online donations and regular gifts and improve the digital marketing and eNewsletter (for increasing donations). 

● Contribute to innovative fundraising campaigns and activities.

● Support and participate in wider organisational activities, including events and cross‑team initiatives as required.

● Contribute to annual budget setting and targets for fundraising.

● Line management of volunteers as required.

Training will be provided to ensure that all candidates feel supported in their role and progress in their career development. Welsh language training will be offered to support learning if necessary. IT training in WordPress and other essential software will also be offered. Travel across Wales will be required.

Summary of main duties and responsibilities

The Director of Philanthropy Knowledge’s principal responsibilities are to keep up-to-date with the developments of the global philanthropy sector; be a proactive knowledge resource for the editorial team; build and maintain a strong network of relationships with key individuals and organisations on every continent; and to work with the Executive Director on generating philanthropic funding and support in line with APT’s strategy.

Knowledge

• Develop expansive knowledge of the global philanthropy sector, the people and organisations in that space, and to keep up with the latest trends and developments
• Maintain this knowledge through reading, research and global event attendance
• Ensure that this knowledge is built on hearing from a broad range of diverse voices and perspectives
• Share this knowledge with the in-house editorial team to help shape the editorial strategy, the publication’s understanding of the sector, and the Alliance event programme
• Share this knowledge with the sector through commentary including written contributions for Alliance and speaking at sector events

Relationship building

• Build and maintain a strong network of relationships with key individuals and organisations on every continent
• Be confident and comfortable to meet with the senior leaders of the sector to learn about their work.
• Be able to connect with leaders from a variety of cultures and contexts
• Attend relevant worldwide conferences and events to connect with key individuals and look for opportunities for how they may contribute towards Alliance’s mission. Eg; as guest editors, contributors, members of the Editorial Advisory Council, or in other forms of organisational partnership with Alliance.

Philanthropic funding & support

• Steward existing relationships with key core funders and sponsors of Alliance
• Ensure grant requirements are positively delivered in good time
• Work with the Executive Director to identify and approach potential funders – both core and project - and sponsors of Alliance
• Ensure that APT’s philanthropic support grows in line with APT’s fundraising goals to match its strategy and plans

General

• Manage a personal travel budget  to support the three core areas above
• Meet staff regularly to ensure seamless input into editorial and organisational plans
• Be an active team member, contributing ideas to the long-term development of Alliance
• Work on required tasks relating to any other APT projects

Job purpose:

This is a creative opportunity for someone who wants to make a difference with one of the country’s leading Lived Experience Recovery Organisations for individuals who have or have had a substance use disorder.

The Innovation, Development Fundraising Manager is a new role within the charity. The purpose of this position is to work with the Senior Leadership Team and other staff members to:

· Help develop and fund new activities in our existing services.

· Through the development and modelling of pilot projects, help the SLT with the implementation of our three-year strategy and seek funding through trust and grant foundations for the delivery of the above.

· Collaborate with the Chief Executive to identify and apply for new funding streams that support the work and growth of the charity and build on our current service delivery.

You will seek to develop and diversify the base of supporters and to achieve fundraising targets working with the CEO and SLT, supported by the board of trustees. We want to continue with our local services contracted income but also to develop other income streams, expand our supporter networks and build our sustainability for the future.

The successful candidate will also develop and maintain appropriate relationships with trusts, foundations and their representatives, ensuring the highest quality of stewardship and cultivation of a proactive relationship-based approach to seeking new funding opportunities.

Working as part of a small leadership team and, reporting to the Chief Executive, you’ll capitalise on our success in partnering with some large addiction treatment providers. These have delivered innovative approaches to recovery across London.

With this backdrop, we will look to you to develop and deliver successful plans to diversify and optimise our income as well as developing the tools, processes and internal expertise to ensure sustainability.

The post holder would have the opportunity of working with a passionate, dedicated small central team, with a positive team spirit. There is a high level of commitment to developing this new area of income generation from management and trustees providing the post holder with the opportunity to excel and meet strategic targets. 

Responsibilities and main duties:

o Work closely with the CEO, Board of Trustees, and others in the leadership team to develop and spearhead delivery of a funding and financial plan that will enable delivery of our mission, strategy 2026-29 and delivering our financial strategic objectives.

o Proactively research and develop opportunities from trusts and foundations, developing a funding database and pipeline.

o Working with the CEO and service managers, initializing, and developing projects, producing compelling funding proposals and grant applications, initiating prospect meetings, and confidently pitching new funders to successfully convert prospects to funders or donors.

o Work with the leadership team and local service managers, and volunteers to fundraise local community support activity in the areas we operate in.

o Explore and test new fundraising approaches (such as events and corporate) to further grow and diversify income,

o Research and implement the introduction of a suitable CRM system to maintain accurate records of all fundraising activity (including contracted income), providing high quality reports to the leadership team, CEO and trustees, and to develop a data led approach to future fundraising.

o Manage and monitor ongoing funder reporting, ensuring that effective records of grant/funding bids and their conditions are kept and strictly adhered to by project leads, and that interim and end of project reporting is completed to a high standard, consulting with project leads where appropriate.

o Build and sustain strong relationships with a broad range of funding individuals and organizations, using a wide range of appropriate stewardship approaches to develop and retain their support for Build on Belief.

o Stay informed of existing and new fundraising legislation and ensure all fundraising activities are compliant with the Code of Fundraising Practice and all other statutory obligations, maintaining and communicating internal policies as appropriate.

o Actively instill an organizational culture of fundraising, ensuring that everyone in the organization, including our trustees, understands and contributes to our fundraising strategy.

o Develop a good working knowledge of the charity’s activities, our approaches to addiction and recovery and some of the wider evidence base to tackle addiction and dependency to represent BoB authoritatively to supporters and external audiences.

Experience

o Experience and proven record of soliciting, managing, and securing income from trusts and foundations, corporates, and/or major donors.

o Experience of developing successful grant applications and proposals for support to trusts and foundations.

o Digital fundraising fluency including experience of using and/or developing a CRM system to support fundraising activities and understanding of digital fundraising approaches.

Knowledge

o Strong understanding of the current UK charitable funding landscape including excellent knowledge of charitable grant giving organizations.

o Knowledge of fundraising best practices, regulation, and policies.

o An outstanding written communicator with the ability to absorb and synthesize complex information and translate this into compelling written cases for support.

We're looking for a motivated, people-focused Employment Specialist to join our IPS team and help transform the lives of people with mental health needs. You'll manage a caseload of up to twenty clients, supporting them to find, secure and sustain meaningful employment in line with the eight IPS principles.

You'll work closely with clinical teams, attend multi-disciplinary meetings, and build strong relationships with employers to create real job opportunities. From CV support and interview coaching to in-work retention, you'll provide tailored, person-centred guidance every step of the way.

What does this role do?

As New Partnerships Manager, you'll:

• develop a prospect pipeline to raise a personal income target which contributes to an overall team target,

• support senior team members in attending meetings with potential corporate partners, including preparing relevant briefs in advance,

• work closely with the Corporate Partnerships Team to ensure the transition between new business and account management is seamless for both Dogs Trust and the new partner.

To be successful in this role you'll have demonstrable experience of new business development, ideally in a charity setting, with a track record of securing six-figure partnerships. In addition, you'll have demonstrable experience of senior stakeholder management and negotiation skills, and you'll have the ability to write clearly and concisely, and to tailor written style to the needs of different audiences.
