About the role
The role is within Shelter, but you will also be part of Sheffield City Council’s HALT team which is multi-agency and works to support people sleeping rough who have drug and alcohol dependence needs. You will work to help people to settle and sustain their homes, support them to access and maintain engagement with substance treatment services. Making sure that Shelter is central to local systems change for people experiencing multiple disadvantages will be a key part of the role, representing Shelter at multi meetings and panels as well as monitoring impact and outcome to report to our funders.
About you
You will have a sound understanding of support and housing issues and experience of working with people with multiple disadvantage. You also have knowledge of safeguarding frameworks, drug and alcohol use and treatment and pathways and experience of working with multiple agencies to support people. Sheffield Hub has been established for over 25 years and provides support to over 5000 people a year across the city. Spectra is a health and wellbeing not-for-profit with a strong LGBTQ+ heritage. We design and deliver programmes for people from marginalised communities, including LGBTQ+ communities, particularly trans and gender diverse communities, sex worker communities, young people, and people living with and affected by HIV. Our work includes sexual health programmes, HIV and STI testing and outreach, counselling, advocacy, peer support and mentoring.
Our Sex Worker Support Service has grown significantly since it was formed in 2023, and we are now looking for someone who can support the next stage of its development through community engagement, partnership work, participatory research and shared learning.
About the role
This role will support the ongoing development of Spectra’s Sex Worker Support Service by working closely with the Head of Sex Worker Support Services and the wider team. The postholder will help develop collaborative working with community and grassroots organisations, experts by experience, statutory agencies and other stakeholders.
You will lead on developing projects that support cross-community development in the sex worker support sector across London. This will include building external partnerships, helping to develop training, and supporting Spectra to play a positive and useful role in the wider sector.
The role will also involve recruiting for and facilitating community participatory research projects and focus groups, contributing to data analysis and report writing, and sharing learning with colleagues and external stakeholders. As a Specialist Adviser within the Macmillan Money & More SWS Service, you will provide high-quality, confidential information, advice and support to people affected by cancer and their families across a region spanning from Milton Keynes to Cornwall. Working as part of a coordinated team of advisers across multiple Citizens Advice locations, you will take a person-centred approach to understand each client’s individual circumstances and provide tailored guidance on welfare benefits, financial support, debt, energy costs, employment issues and other practical challenges arising from a cancer diagnosis. You will help clients navigate complex systems, access available support, and improve their financial wellbeing during a difficult and often overwhelming time. Through compassionate and holistic advice, you will empower people affected by cancer to make informed decisions, build confidence, and feel supported throughout their cancer journey.
The ideal candidate will provide advice and support in person, via telephone, email and video call to patients undergoing treatment for cancer. Macmillan Project Caseworkers will assist clients with complex welfare benefits and housing enquiries. This requires a good foundation knowledge of each advice area, so competence in these subjects is desirable, but full and ongoing training will be provided to support successful candidates in their professional development.

As a Peer Support Worker you will:
The successful candidate will have a great understanding and proven skills of delivering mental health services, proven skills around working with adults with mental health needs, an understanding of the relationship between mental health and social issues and how these issues may impact on physical, mental and emotional wellbeing and Significant proven knowledge of models and services to meet the needs of adults with mental health needs. They will also have experience of working in both group settings and 1:1 and creating and reviewing dynamic risk assessments and support plans.

About you
Play a vital role Crisis’s flagship Christmas appeal, and turn that momentum into year-round supporter growth.
We’re looking for an ambitious fundraiser to support in Crisis’s sector-leading Christmas appeal, one of the biggest and most recognised in the UK charity sector and to build on that success by driving sustained, year-round growth in our supporter base.
You will work across integrated multi-channel acquisition campaigns, including DRTV, digital, print and direct mail, and new face-to-face fundraising trials to help us identify scalable routes to reach new audiences. With a clear focus on data, insight and test-and-learn, you’ll capture the power of Christmas to recruit and inspire supporters who want to stay with Crisis.
