As Business Support Manager, you will play a central part supporting the organisation and ensuring we offer great service and care to the boccia community.

Purpose of the role

Key Accountabilities and Objectives

Administration - Provide a high level of administrative support to the Boccia England team (30% of time to this objective)

 · Develop and implement systems and procedures to support the efficient operation of Boccia England and improve the service we offer to members and customers

· Manage the enquires received into Boccia England which includes email, phone and web contacts.

· Provide administrative support to the wider team in areas for events, competitions, and talent.

· Ensure all Boccia England policies are up to date, fit for purpose and compliant with legislation.

· Support compliance with relevant standards including health and safety requirements and data protection in conjunction with the Head of Operations.

· Create a suite of standing operating procedures (SOPs) to support the team and create efficient ways of working and cost savings where appropriate.

Volunteer People Management –Manage and support Boccia England volunteers(30% of time to this objective)

 · Effective management of the volunteer community in organising and attending events, competitions and other areas as and when required.

· To include defining clear roles and responsibilities, clear communication; setting appropriate objectives; monitoring and reviewing performance; providing support and guidance and personal/professional development.

· Support and develop inclusive communication strategies in all communication to volunteers

· Collect feedback from the boccia community to identify improvement areas and action these where appropriate.

Commercial shop – Manage the Boccia England shop, deliver high levels of customer satisfaction and achieve income targets (30% of time to this objective)

 · Manage the Trading budget to realise a positive contribution to the overall Boccia England budget.

· Manage the shop suppliers and ensure stock levels are appropriate.

· Manage customer experience to achieve high levels of satisfaction and repeat business.

· Complete regular reviews of products and complete market research to identify new items tosell which will benefit the boccia community and generate new income revenue streams.

· Be responsible for the shop website, ensuring it is up to date, maintained and the functionality is maximised.

Boccia England Membership - Manage the existing membership benefits package to ensure all areas are delivered (5% of time to this objective)

· Be a subject matter expert for the Boccia England membership platform.

· Deliver training to new and existing team members to maximise their use of the platform.

· Provide regular reports to the Senior Leadership Team and Board on membership numbers, trends and engagement  rates.

· Coordinate the annual membership activities to ensure these are delivered

· Collect membership feedback to report on the current membership offer and manage satisfaction within the membership packages.

· Support the team with initiatives to increase membership numbers and support the retention of existing or lapsed members.

· Input into the annual review of the membership packages to identify improvements and deliver these where appropriate.

Human Resources - Provide administrative support to the Head of Operations in people related work (5% of time to this objective)

 · Coordinate wellbeing newsletters and support the team to deliver a calendar of wellbeing initiatives.

· Work with the Head of Operations to support the recruitment of roles across the business, these may be paid, unpaid, volunteer and or self-employed roles.

· Support the administration of tasks, such as safer recruitment processes, onboarding and induction checklists, training needs surveys and plans.

General Requirements

Finance, operations and governance (70%) — manage bookkeeping in QuickBooks, coordinate banking, prepare management accounts, support grant financial reporting, maintain internal systems (SharePoint, IT), lead on policy compliance (safeguarding, GDPR, health and safety), and support Board governance and statutory filings.

Membership coordination (30%) — manage the end-to-end membership process from enquiries to renewals, coordinate member surveys and data, and organise our events — quarterly member meetings, roundtables and webinars.

About you

You have experience in an operations, finance or administrative coordination role within a non-profit or membership organisation, including managing the full financial cycle within a charity and a working knowledge of charity fund accounting. Key responsibilities

• Coordinate and deliver patient education sessions across online, in-person and hybrid formats.

English for Action (EFA) is looking for a Partnerships Manager to grow the funding that powers our free, participatory ESOL classes for around 400 migrants across London. Our classes don't just teach English, they build the confidence and collective power people need to organise around housing and employment rights.

About the role

Working closely with our Fundraising Lead, you'll take real ownership of relationships with trusts, foundations and corporate funders, while helping shape how we diversify our income going forward. This is a role with genuine scope to bring your own ideas and see them through, not just execute someone else's plan.

You will:
- Write compelling grant applications, funding proposals and reports that win and retain funding
- Research and build a realistic pipeline of trusts, liveries and corporate foundations

The Youth Adventure Trust is a youth development charity working with vulnerable young people aged 11 to 16 years old from Somerset, Wiltshire and Swindon. Our outdoor activity based YAT Adventure Programme enables young people to challenge themselves, experience success, learn to go beyond their own expectations and grow in confidence. All our services are provided completely free of charge to the young people who are nominated by schools and other youth organisations to take part. 

The Role

We are looking for an experienced, dynamic and motivated Programme Manager to support, deliver and manage our outdoor based development programmes. 

Responsibilities will include:

• Acting as the key point of contact to organise, deliver and oversee the programme to a group of young people, including managing and supporting activity days and residential adventures throughout the year.

• Recruiting young people to the programme, working in collaboration with our referral partners including schools and other organisations, ensuring all involved have an excellent understanding, relationship and experience with the Youth Adventure Trust.

• Working in partnership with the young people’s families to promote full attendance, effective participation and ensure they have all the information they require. 

• Carrying out direct work with young people to help support their needs and fulfil the Youth Adventure Trust’s aims.

• Providing ongoing feedback to young people, parents, carers and schools.

• Supporting the effective monitoring of the programme and measurement of young people’s developmental outcomes.

• Working with the Mentoring Managers to select and support young people moving on to the Mentoring Programme, and promote take up of the Bursary Programme. 

• Ensuring the highest standards of support, safety and safeguarding across the programme and all aspects of the Youth Adventure Trust’s work.

• Completing the day-to-day administration and management of the programme. This will include maintaining a database, producing written communications and reports, information leaflets, website updates, budget monitoring, booking and negotiating with providers, and an array of detailed record keeping.

• Contributing to organisational planning and development, including supporting the development of further opportunities for young people. 

• Supporting the fundraising team through providing feedback, reports or event support.

You will also;

• Be involved in sector networking and awareness raising on behalf of the Trust.

• Act as an ambassador for the Youth Adventure Trust at all times.

The post is subject to a six months’ probationary period.

The Candidate

To be up to the challenge you’ll need an excellent understanding and a proven track record of relevant experience working with vulnerable young people. You’ll need demonstrable skills at building effective relationships with young people, parents/carers and professional organisations. You’ll need strong influencing and motivational skills; the capacity to get the best out of people and confidently deal with issues and challenges. You’ll be an excellent communicator, planner and problem solver, a strong team player and an exemplary role model. 

We need someone with:- 

• Commitment to safeguarding and dedication to promoting the welfare of young people.

• Relevant experience of managing young people, preferably in activity based and outdoor environments, as well as away from this.

• Experience in working in partnership with other professional organisations and parents/carers.

• Strong leadership and team skills to motivate, support and work alongside a team of volunteers, activity instructors and logistics staff. 

• Self-motivation with the ability to work on their own initiative to plan and manage their workload.

• Strong IT skills including experience of MS Office, web based platforms and databases.

• Excellent administrative skills and a methodical and thorough approach.

• The ability to perform well and problem solve in high-stress and changing situations. Ability to be flexible and dynamic in approach.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• A positive attitude, high energy and enthusiasm for the work of the Youth Adventure Trust; an understanding of the positive impact outdoor adventure can have on vulnerable young people, and a desire to help inspire young lives.

In addition:-

• The ability to work flexible hours, evenings and weekends as required is essential - the role includes attending occasional trips staying away from home, and monthly weekend days working on activities. If you are looking for a predictable 9-5 work environment, this won’t be the right fit.

• The role is home-based, located in or with close proximity to Wiltshire and Somerset

• A full current driving licence and access to your own vehicle is required.

Brief description of role:

As the new Ebdon Farm Site Manager, you will play a critical role in the development of the Ebdon Farm Nature Reserve.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and diligent Site Manager capable of delivering our most ambitious project yet. You will oversee the delivery of a 14.5ha wetland, along with other terrestrial habitats. You will be experienced in land management for conservation and have a proven track record of overseeing contractors delivering large-scale habitat creation.

Working alongside the new Ebdon Farm Engagement Manager, you will deliver site tours, a variety of events and a volunteer programme. Using your excellent communication skills and knowledge of nature, land management and climate change, you will inspire and inform your audiences. Using Ebdon Farm to increase understanding of local climate threats and the role climate-adapted sites like Ebdon Farm can play in helping us adapt.
