We are looking for an Interim Senior Marketing and Communications Manager to lead our Marketing and Communications function during an exciting period of transition and growth. This role will play a pivotal part in delivering our communications and brand strategy, supporting the rollout of our new organisational strategy, and maintaining momentum across high‑profile campaigns and projects.
Reporting to the Director of Fundraising and Engagement, you’ll oversee marketing and communications across the organisation, line managing a team of specialists and working closely with the Senior Leadership Team. You’ll provide strategic leadership, clear direction and hands‑on support, ensuring activity is well planned, insight‑driven and aligned to our wider organisational objectives.
This role is ideal for an experienced marketing and communications leader, ideally from the charity sector, who can combine strategic thinking with strong delivery, and who thrives in a fast‑paced, collaborative environment.

The role
This is a full-time (35 hours per week), fixed-term position for 12 months.
We operate a hybrid working model. You will usually work remotely but will be expected to attend meetings at our office near London Bridge when required. Please note that travel costs to the office are not covered.

POST OUTLINE
A rare opportunity to create and lead Individual Giving and Legacies at a pivotal point of growth within an ambitious fundraising team. This role will define the strategy and create and deliver on establishing income streams that will be central to future success. It requires an experienced fundraiser who thrives on building; someone who can turn ideas into action and work at pace.
Combining strategic thinking with hands-on delivery to develop programmes that deliver real impact and long-term value.
MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
The role will lead the creation and delivery of Individual Giving and Legacies programmes, establishing two core income streams that will drive sustainable growth. It will define strategy, build insight-led, multi-channel programmes and design supporter journeys that deepen engagement over time, from first gift to long term support and legacy giving.
Working across the organisation the postholder will embed a strong supporter focus, ensuring that fundraising is integrated into wider engagement activity. You will take ownership of income performance, budgets and continuous improvement through data, testing and learning.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver the Individual Giving and Legacies strategy, covering acquisition, retention, regular giving and legacy development.
- Design and deliver integrated multi-channel campaigns to grow income and lifetime value.
- Build and optimize end-to-end supporter journeys, including pathways to legacy giving.
- Grow and develop legacy income including awareness, pipeline development and stewardship approaches.
- Use data, segmentation and insight to drive decision making, improve performance and increase retention.
- Set, manage and reforecast budgets ensuring delivery against income targets.
- Lead a test and learn approach, embedding continuous improvement across individual giving and legacy activity.
- Work collaboratively with marketing, services and wider teams to align messaging, case for support and supporter experience.
- Manage external agencies and suppliers to deliver high quality campaigns and strong return on investment.
- Ensure compliance with fundraising regulation, Gift Aid and data protection requirements.
PERSON SPECIFICATION
Essential Criteria:
- Significant experience in Individual Giving and/or Legacy fundraising with exposure to both areas.
- Proven track record of delivering income growth through campaigns or programme development.
- Experience developing and delivering multi-channel fundraising activity.
- Strong understanding of supporter journeys, retention and lifetime value including pathways to legacy giving.
- Experience using data, segmentation and insight to drive performance.
- Experience managing budgets, targets and forecasting.
- Strong project management skills with the ability to prioritise and deliver at pace.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Knowledge of fundraising regulation, compliance and data protection.
- A proactive, delivery focused approach with the ability to turn ideas into action.
Desirable Criteria:
- Experience developing or scaling a legacy programme.
- Experience building or significantly reshaping Individual Giving programmes.
- Experience with Raiser’s Edge NXT or other CRM systems.

Purpose of the post:
As part of our Business Directorate, this role will lead a first-class comprehensive support function that underpins all areas of the charity:

MAIN PURPOSE:
We are seeking an experienced and strategic Fundraising Manager to lead and grow a diverse income portfolio across multiple fundraising disciplines.
This is a leadership role responsible for contributing to and delivering a national fundraising strategy aligned to Brainkind’s organisational priorities, financial sustainability goals, and growth ambitions.
The postholder will manage and develop a small fundraising team, embed high-performance standards, and drive income generation across statutory trusts and foundations, major donors, corporate partnerships, community fundraising, events, and individual giving.
MAIN TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Strategic Leadership
- Contribute to, develop and deliver a multi-year fundraising strategy to achieve sustainable income growth.
- Set and manage annual income targets exceeding £500k to £1m.
- Identify new income streams aligned to Brainkind’s service model and expansion priorities.
- Work closely with senior leadership to align fundraising with operational and strategic objectives.
Income Generation (All Disciplines)
Lead and oversee income generation across:
- Trusts & Foundations – Develop compelling proposals for health, social care and rehabilitation funding.
- Corporate Partnerships – Secure and manage mutually beneficial local partnerships.
- Community & Events Fundraising – Grow supporter-led activity nationally.
- Individual Giving & Digital Campaigns – Strengthen acquisition, retention and legacy programmes.
- Statutory & Health Sector Funding (where applicable outside commissioned services).
Team Management
- Line manage, coach and develop a small fundraising team.
- Foster a high-performance, collaborative culture.
- Set KPIs and ensure strong pipeline management and reporting.
Relationship & Stakeholder Management
- Act as an ambassador for Brainkind externally.
- Build strong internal relationships with operations, clinical teams, finance, and communications to gather impact data and case studies.
- Work closely with marketing/communications to strengthen brand-led fundraising campaigns.
Governance & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with fundraising regulations and best practice (e.g. Fundraising Regulator, GDPR).
- Monitor ROI and cost-effectiveness across fundraising activities.
ABOUT YOU:
- Knowledge of a broad range of fundraising and charity sector activities.
- Knowledge of legal obligations for fundraising activities and all internal procedures and regulations and adherence to best practices, as defined by the organisation and Institute of Fundraising Code of Practice & Fundraising Regulator
- Proven track record of achieving and exceeding fundraising income targets at £500k+ level (or comparable scale).
- Experience in managing successful campaigns, both digitally and within the community.
- Strategic thinker with the ability to analyse data and manager performance pipelines.

The Senior Email Channel Officer is a critical role in planning, creating, delivering and optimising our email campaigns and automated supporter journeys. The role ensures supporters receive timely, relevant and engaging communications that strengthen their relationship with the charity and drive meaningful action. The post holder will have experience in achieving KPI’s such as improved campaign engagement metrics; improved automated journeys to increase retention, reactivation and income; delivering email accuracy and quality; and contributing to the overall Supporter Experience Strategy to build lifetime value through more supporters, staying longer and doing more.

Key Responsibilities:
Campaign and Automation Journey Planning & Delivery
· Hands on delivery, including build and test high‑quality email campaigns that support fundraising, supporter engagement and other organisational priorities such as volunteering and campaigning actions.
· Build, test and optimise automated email journeys that welcome, retain, steward and reactivate supporters, building performance knowledge and insight that can be replicated across different supporter products and journeys.
· Support the Email Channel Manager with overseeing the email marketing calendar and sign offs where needed.
· Work with data and CRM teams to improve trigger logic, personalisation and segmentation, using your audience understanding to incorporate targeting and personalisation using customer data and dynamic content logic.
· Advise on the integration of email within multi-channel campaigns (e.g. email, SMS, Whatsapp, direct mail, social and telephone)
Reporting, Performance & Insight
· Monitor performance and continuously refine journeys to improve conversion, engagement and lifetime value.
· Work with Business Intelligence, Insight and Digital Analytics teams to produce regular reports on email performance, offering clear insights and recommendations.
· Use A/B testing, segmentation and behavioural insights to drive continuous improvement.
· Ensure activity aligns with KPIs around engagement, retention, income and supporter satisfaction.
Data, Compliance & Quality Assurance
· Ensure all email activity is fully compliant with GDPR, PECR, consent and internal data governance.
· Working closely with the website team, carry out thorough QA across content, links, rendering and segmentation before deployment.
· Champion accessibility, inclusive language and best‑practice UX within email design.
Collaboration & Stakeholder Management
· Work closely with internal teams needing email support, advising on strategy, best practice and channel suitability.
· Work closely with digital, brand, design, marketing, data and analytics and supporter engagement teams to improve the supporter experience.

· Support the Email Channel Manager with upskilling and mentoring junior team members in email and channel best practice, automations, segmentation, project planning and supporter journeys.
· Create and maintain documentation of learnings, processes, ways of working and results where required.
Knowledge, skills and experience needed:
· Significant experience delivering email campaigns and automated journeys in a fundraising, marketing or digital environment.
· Hands‑on experience with email marketing platforms and CRM systems.
· Proven track record of improving performance through testing and optimisation.
· Experience working with data teams and segmentation logic.
· Familiarity with behavioural insights or loyalty‑building techniques.
· Strong understanding of email best‑practice, including accessibility, personalisation and UX.

Job Purpose
The Development Manager will manage our fundraising and partnerships portfolio, supporting the stewardship of relationships with some of the world’s biggest environmental foundations and philanthropists. They will manage new and existing relationships, prepare grant applications and reporting, and evolve our outreach to support the growth and diversification of our fundraising opportunities. The role will work closely with the Executive Director, our UK team, and our US based global development department, to secure sustainable resources to strengthen Oceana UK and help drive positive impact for our seas.
Eligible candidates should have a passion for fundraising and a track record in securing major grants and donations, with a focus on trusts, foundations, and philanthropy. They will foster strong relationships with high-level partners, co-deliver excellent funding applications and reports, and provide written and verbal updates with precision and confidence. They will demonstrate a strategic mindset, alongside strong organisational skills and meticulous attention to detail. They must have experience in growing and diversifying income streams and converting new interest into long-term, sustainable, support.
The position will be hybrid, based three days per week (Tues-Thurs) from Oceana’s UK offices in Newquay, Cornwall or Paddington, London. Regular national, and occasional international, travel will be required to meet team members and stakeholders in geographically diverse locations, including Washington, DC.
Responsibilities
- Manage relationships and reporting to existing funders alongside the international development team and Executive Director. This will primarily be with trusts and foundations, individual philanthropists, and some corporate supporters.
- Manage successful grant applications and budgets, co-ordinating and collaborating with the international development team.
- Work closely with the finance, policy, communications, and campaigns team to ensure all relevant stakeholders are consulted in grant applications and reporting.
- Manage and deliver timely reporting, communications, and updates to funding partners and stakeholders.
- Manage and develop other existing UK income streams, including mass giving alongside the communications team.
- Identify, develop and manage additional UK income opportunities, including with smaller trusts and foundations.

Candidate Requirements
Education and work experience:
- At least 5 years of professional experience in fundraising and development, ideally in the ocean or the environmental space (essential).
- Experience writing successful multi-year grant applications, alongside robust budgets, for trusts and foundations (essential).
- Experience managing charitable foundation relationships, delivering detailed and timely reports, and managing ongoing communications as required (essential).
- Experience managing major and corporate giving.
- Experience prospe cting, managing and analysing research on fundraising opportunities.

This is an exciting opportunity to shape a new three-year programme focused on strengthening the financial wellbeing of people living with multiple long-term conditions. Enabled by recently announced funding from The Aviva Foundation, the role will lead the design and development of an initiative that equips link workers with the skills, confidence, and resources to address financial hardship as an integral part of their practice. The post will play a crucial role in advancing NASP’s strategic ambition to influence and embed social prescribing across local, national, and international contexts
This new role will lead the design, delivery, and evaluation of the three-year national programme, reporting to our Strategic Lead for Healthcare Integration & Neighbourhood Health to meet the programme priorities.
The postholder will work in close partnership with key stakeholders to co-produce and lead the programme’s learning content, oversee the national training rollout, and support pilot delivery in two Primary Care Network (PCN) sites. The role will be central to capturing, synthesising, and embedding learning through peer-learning networks, wider evaluation partnerships, and ongoing engagement with our funder. Citizens Advice Bury & Bolton (CABB) is a leading provider of legal advice and information, supporting thousands of clients every year. We are a busy, client focused and dynamic service with a track record of delivering high quality advice face to face, over the phone and digitally.

- Client Services Team - the initial access points for up to 80% of clients accessing our services. From client facing work at our local town centre premises through to processing our online referral forms, this team is integral to ensuring that clients can access our services.
- Volunteer Team – led by 2 part-time volunteer supervisors, our team of 30 volunteers deliver advice to clients over the phone and face to face. Delivering over 6000 hours of volunteering per year, this team has increased by 50% in the past 12 months and is continuing to grow across the organisation.
- Community Outreach Team – responsible for delivering community outreach advice sessions across Bury and Bolton, as well as representing CABB in local/ neighbourhood meetings and building relationships with key community stakeholders.
